how exciting little cheese, must get some energy to do the deed tonight!!

Minshu · 07/09/2009 09:03

LittleCheese - r.e. your "wallowing in self-pity". I think that the whole point of setting MN up was for people in the same boat to whinge to eachother when they had exhausted all RL opportunities. Everything else is just a bonus Anyway, it seems that you and DH managed to improve the situation - good luck.

It's been such a long time since DP got lucky, I'm afraid I've forgotten how

Enjoy your coffee morning, Trixie.

Glad you are more relaxed about the CS, blue. Sorry to all of you who's LOs hadn't moved. Mine wasn't far off the right position and there's still a lot of variation in where her bottie sticks out of my tummy, so hope she's not going to lift her head back out. Will be having words!!

JRocks · 07/09/2009 09:31

Ooh good luck LittleCheese! DP and I made an 'attempt' last night, but it was just too damn difficult and then he got freaked out about the baby being 'right there'

So it seems that won't be my solution. Perhaps I'll try vacuuming the car!

I'm starting to get the texts now, and I'm not even due until the 25th. Even DP answers his phone with expectation in his voice, when really I'm just calling to moan at him

FairySparkles · 07/09/2009 10:36

Hello girlies - I've just done a mahoosive catch up (10 pages or more!!)
....however I've now forgotten all the things I was going to comment on so nevermind!

Congratulations to those of you who have had your babies

I go between extreme frustration that my baby isn't here yet (although not due for another 2 weeks) and then 5 minutes later I'm thinking f*!k - only 2 weeks left!! I need more time!!

Blue - so sorry your not getting your home birth, but you seem to be feeling alot better about the cs now - pro's and cons to both at the end of the day I guess!

I've got mw app. this afternoon so should find out if bubs is still head down (haven't seen mw for 3 weeks)- it still seems to move around quite alot in there so I'll be relieved to know where its actually positioned! SPD kept me awake most of last night so I think I might go back to bed now - dd's in nursery so I guess I should make the most of the peace and quiet!!

Neddie · 07/09/2009 10:38

HI all
Congratulations bexaa and daffodilli well done and good weights.
Mrs Chemist I had a really bad episiotomy with dd1 and couldn't sit for 6 weeks without a rubber ring. Try the following...
Salty bath followed by hairdryering the stitches on a warm setting until really dry. Condom filled with water and then frozen to place when/ if you get really sore. Big pillows one for each cheek.
I am having trouble breastfeeding both babies (it is constant) and may have to have some top ups, both doing well.Have put pics on my profile.
Good luck to the unpopped ones.

LadyStealthPolarBear · 07/09/2009 10:42

Hi everyone
Thanks for asking elkie - news, well MIL has taken DS out for the day so I am MNing, drinking RLT and eyeing up a whole pineapple. Is that the sort of news you meant?
Good luck LittleCheese, as it seems to work so well DH might get lucky tonight once he's blown up my birthing ball No doubt he'll be checking the calendar to see if it's his birthday or our anniversary

SprinkleofStardust · 07/09/2009 11:08

Congratulations Bexaa, that's a fabulous weight!! Well done you

Blue, I was laughing VERY hard at that French bloke, I loved the way he thought he could win as the crowd were 'supporting him' LOL!!! Unfortunately it hasn't bought anything on. I felt different last night and have been getting twinges alot, but they're not overly painful. Does that mean anything or am I just hoping too much???

I got up at 5.30am and cleaned the kitchen (again) made DH's lunch and did some washing, might clean the windows later and hope that something will happen!!

TigerFeet - my situation exactly, so ready to meet this LO now and really hope BIL is wrong and he won't come on the 17th as I don't think I'll cope going 5 days overdue, I'm desperate now and not due til Saturday!!

Have also been bouncing on the ball, RLT, pineapple, sex (we got it sorted this time, lol!!) Clary Sage, I'm now trying to talk him out

Happy Birthday for yesterday Mummyhill, hope you were very spoilt!!

Minshu, that's great news!!

Good Luck LittleCheese, so

Neddie, I wouldn't beat yourself up if they need to have a top up, it sounds like you are doing a fabulous job, I'm worried about just having 1 to feed so I imagine 2 would be even more stressful, try not to get too hung up on it and just enjoy your LO's, if you have to give them a bottle then it won't do them any harm, especially if you can get some rest and feel better. I'm off to have a look at your photo's now!!

Thusnelda · 07/09/2009 11:21

Congratulations to all with new babies!
I have updated the stats thread again. (seems very satisfying somehow)
It's time for some more girls now!

Good luck LittleCheese, hope it's for real this time!

Neddie, how cute are those two! Love the ying and yang picture.

I'm 38 weeks now and found myself fearing the birth for the first time last night. I'm also suddenly convinced that she's not head-down after all as there's been so much movement all along and last night there was definitely a summersault going on. Well, I'm going to see the GP this afternoon, hope to get a better idea then. And I've got the "Common Interventions" class today, just in case I need to prepare for a caesarian after all.

At least I can cut down my bookshop duties at last - to one day a week. It's all been a bit much lately, even though I have finally found someone to take a share in the shop. But that meant I had to try and get rid of about a quarter of my stock and so I still find myself climbing ladders and filling boxes at 8 months pregnant. (not lifting though) The other bookseller is now back from yet another week's holiday, he'd already been away for about 5 weeks.

AprilMeadow · 07/09/2009 11:48

Lovely pics Neddie!

Well done Thusnelda for updating the stats.

Did you see that PurpleCrazyHorse has had her little girl -saw the birth annoucement this morning.

blue76 · 07/09/2009 11:58

neddie your LOs are beautiful - you must be so proud!

I don't know whether I've mentioned this before (brain is addled). Breast shells are fabulous when breastfeeding. You just sterilise and place it over the boob you are not feeding on. It fills up with milk and can be poured into a bottle. Really saves on expressing. Could also freeze the milk. Even if you don't want to combine breast/bottle, they are great for catching the milk in - pads just get soaked

I've put latest bump pic on here - taken at 38 wks

Minshu · 07/09/2009 11:58

Neddie - thanks for the pics. Adorable!!! Love the ying-yang image (I wrote that before seeing Thusnelda said the same).

You be careful on those ladders, Thusnelda! It's funny how people tell you to be careful, not overdo things, etc, but the pregnant ones carry on regardless themselves and the non-pregnant ones don't quite get round to helping out - might just be my experience.

WantedToBeABoy · 07/09/2009 12:36

Hello

Haven't posted for a while but just wanted to check in to see whether everyone's going full steam ahead.

I had a false alarm this morning - woke up at 2am with very damp thighs and crescendo-ing back pains coming every 10 minutes. I was sure my waters had broken (TMI alert) - I'd been keeping a look out for a 'show' as described, but how was I supposed to know that loads of clear stuff like runny egg-white literally rolling down my legs for several hours was mere mucus?! I had no idea it was possible to keep so much of it up there.

I had to go to the hospital anyway because the midwife I saw on Friday had suddenly decided to panic that the baby wasn't growing because she measured the bump 2cm less than my usual midwife (who I always think is far too generous with the tape-measure anyway), and said I had to have a growth scan. So I ended up having the baby's heart monitored and getting a good old poke around up there at the same time - which was quite reassuring actually.

So now I seem to have got rid of the mucus deluge, but I'm still getting cramps every half hour or so. Anyone reckon that means it's on its way - or is my sleep-deprived partner having an unscheduled day off for no reason?! Due on Thursday, so I hope at least this means I won't be a fortnight overdue :-)

LittleCheese · 07/09/2009 13:49

well im home from hospital....

ladylush · 07/09/2009 13:52

LittleCheese · 07/09/2009 14:32

Eleanor Rose was born at 6.38am 07/09/09 after 5 and half hours of contractions weighing 8lb 9.5oz

LJ29 · 07/09/2009 14:36

Well done LC !

TrixieVix · 07/09/2009 14:40

OH MY GOD - I go AWOL for a couple of days and everybody pops!!! Congratulations

Wow at 10lbs and ouch!! Littlecheese - what a fab quick labour - how are you feeling?

Neddie - how are you getting on with the babies?

Am I right in thinking Bratnav has also popped? I've just read through all of the pages I'd missed and have already forgotten

Well, nothing new to report here, but so pleased for those that are already cuddling their babies and thinking labour thoughts (for everyone that wants them!) for for everyone else. Not long now

Much love to all

LadyStealthPolarBear · 07/09/2009 14:44

Congratulations LittleCheese

Lovely name and a fab smooth labour too!

Minshu · 07/09/2009 15:45

Congratulations, LittleCheese!! and you won't have to share your birthday

TigerFeet · 07/09/2009 16:04

Hehehe LittleCheese you tease Many congratulations. Eleanor would be on my list for this one but it's my sister's name.

I have been in a frenzy today, cooking, cleaning and generally feeling restless... also obsessively assessing every little twinge. I'm going to drive myself insane at this rate.

Lovely pics Neddie, another fan of the yin and yang pose

Take it easy Thusnelda...

WantingToBe... how frustrating... hope things move along for you soon.

I'm eating curry as I type
