Arcadie I didn't know I had a craving for nectarines until I read your post, now I am mildly obsessed with buying a punnet or ten tomorrow!!

Mmmm

That makes me sound vaguely healthy so just for balance I'm letting you know I've got a massive takeaway curry on order

Arcadie · 28/08/2009 19:49

Can't eat curry. Makes me feel too poorly the next day. I love curry. This makes me sad.

OK so no one worries, I'm just off for a quick run so if there are any more facebook group takers I'll be back at 8:30.

We're a total blank. We have almost anagram names for DS and DD and have no chance of a hattrick. I think we'll try to go for a 3 syllable so it's not like Annabelle, Clarabel and Bob.

Arcadie · 28/08/2009 21:18

Just had a request.. anyone fessing up?

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 28/08/2009 21:20

i have requested to join the MN March 2010!!!!!! please add me!!!!!!!

names- atm we have Harry aged 4, Rosie Aged 19mths and new baby will be

BOY- GEORGE ELLIOT

GIRL- ALICE? no middle name,

Good luck with upcoming scans everyone xxxx

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 28/08/2009 21:21

heehee its meeeeeee!!!!!!

annamama · 28/08/2009 21:24

Not sure about curry, but I had a falaffel from the local kebab shop yesterday, it was yummy! I'm not a veggie but have gone off meat slightly.

Going to a friend's wedding tomorrow (who I met in NHS antenatal class!), wearing this slinky dress, wonder if anyone will realise I'm pregnant or think I'm just fat. Well whatever...

Minicooper - so you're Tue as well, good luck!

Arcadie · 28/08/2009 21:26

gotcha sarah

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 28/08/2009 21:28

thank you xxxmwahxxx

pureeandpearls · 28/08/2009 21:32

Curry- I still love. In fact I craved it last time. Can't do bacon (literally can't be in the house if it's cooking) and orange juice. Still have the occasional coffee too which I hated last time (decaff)....haven't noticed anything else yet.

Names- we had:

Charles Frederick (Kit) and Eloise Vivienne

before I was pregnant (told you we were planners- had DD name long before she was conceived) but DH has decided that because I told my mother we must now start again. Currently planning on:

Theodore Frederick (Teddy) and Elspeth Lucille

Hope DH doesn't read my mn like he does my FB!!

DD is Cecily.

Sarah- love both your names. Feel free to help yourself to one of our rejects

Arcadie · 28/08/2009 21:36

OOooh Cecily's a gorgeous name.

PacificDogwood · 28/08/2009 22:08

Gosh, I am dizzy from the speed this thread is moving at!!

Re Facebook, ahem, as I can barely keep up with this I think I'll stay out of it . It would just be another thing I'd feel bad about not managing to do..

Ongoing best wishes for all of you waiting for scans.
I've gone "public" these last few days, well, told our parents and my colleagues; they were v good about it but I know that my 4th mat leave in the space of 7 years does affect the business, there is just no deniying it .
When I told my mum she was so shocked she had to hand phone over to my dad! She has rallied round in the meantime, LOL!

Re names: I am loving Geoge, Elliot, Theodore, Henry, Harry, and so on, but all sadly vetoed by DH. And my girl's name (Anna Katerina Niamh) I will now never have opportunity to use, oh well.
Our three boys all have first names with one syllable and I would quite like to continue that but not all names work with our last name...

Anyway, this has marked my place in this thread again .
And, re DHs who are good with their hands: mine has been busy for the last few weeks days erecting the ginormous timber playfort from Cosco's in our garden, what fun.

Night, night, you all .

Arcadie · 28/08/2009 23:09

OK Scooby you're in. I'm off to bed. nectarine final count: 5

Arcadie · 29/08/2009 08:49

PacificDogwood You made the morningpaper roundup! Congratulations. Bad move to out that you're a GP [evil snicker] . Now we can come to you with medical stuff and older kiddy stuff. Brilliant. I'm so glad you're pregnant with us .

Morning everyone else. Can you tell DH is working shifts this weekend so I'm stuck in with kiddies.... not that I'm on MN ALL the time or anything...

PacificDogwood · 29/08/2009 09:02

AIBU at being very proud to be in the round-up [preens]?
I am not worried to be outed, I've done that myself on numerous occasions on MN . And just you lot all bear in mind that nothing in my training prepared my for motherhood; I had to make it up as I went along like anybody else. Do not get me started on BFing - I knew NOTHING.
Anyway, happy to answer general questions, usual disclaimer firmly in place, though. I see my main qualification in the fact that his is my 8th pregnancy - and my very very last!
Hope this morning finds you all well. My (all day)nausea is clearly getting better; had huge amount of Domino's pizza last night, the first dinner I had in weeks.

Pacific YANBU at all! 8th pregnancy though!!! indeed. I'm guessing that you've had some sad times on your path to number 8...

And I'm with Pixie no talk of dense cheesy carbs please. I'm only on nectarine 1 du jour.

Arcadie · 29/08/2009 19:20

Did I kill the thread? Have you all made another group and gone off somewhere else? Or has everyone else apart from me got a life this bank holiday!?

PacificDogwood · 29/08/2009 19:47

No, no, Arcadie, I am the most successful thread slayer here, so do not worry!

I have been to Toys'R'Us earlier as older DSs have birthday parties to go to. I usually make sure I have "stock" of suitable boy and girl presents at home but had run out before the summer holidays, so had to restock. Is it just me or is Toys'R'Us the 10th circle of hell?? I HATE the place, makes my teeth itch and gives me claustrophobia. Too many whining children, stressed, shouty adults, TOO MANY TOYS, all sprakly, and jingly, and Disney-y, and £12.99 for some plastic beads, WTF??? .
Sorry about the rant, but I do hate everything about it including its name, so there.
Rant over, I shall make sure that I will by nice, fun pressies when I come a across them to make sure I always have a supply so I will NEVER have to go back again...

Anywhoo, that is where I was. Oh, and earlier in the park until rain stopped play ('tis what happens when you live north of the border).
Hope everybody had/is having a nice Saturday.

annamama · 29/08/2009 21:13

Hi I'm here too, checking in! about your description of T'R'U.

We've been to a wedding today, I had my first drink in months, 1 glass of Pimms and 1 glass of champagne (hours in between). My motherly instincts told me the baby would hardly notice (?) DD was a pain in church and had to be taken outside, but at the reception she was pretty good, ran around and played by herself. I had the bride's video cam, she had asked me to film when they came out of the church, but I missed it, I was still in the church! Got a pretty good film of confetti being thrown though. Then I was ready to film when the car arrived at the reception but screen was just black, what's going on? Oh the lens cap was on, damn. Pg brain

Hi Arcadie,

I am here too just running around a bit and too busy to write. I plan on joining the Facebook group once I've had my scan (Tue). Fab idea with setting one up!!!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

designerbaby · 29/08/2009 21:47

Arcadie - I've requested to join your MN group - please let me iiiiiiinnnnn! (great idea, and well done you BTW).

Ill again - sticking cold and cough is back ( not that it ever properly went away). I literally feel like I've been ill since I got pregnant and I'm now officially feeling sorry for myself. FIL keeps putting the wind up by mentioning all kinds of ominous stuff, but I'm convinced it's just a series of colds brought home from nursery by DD...

But DH is an angel (even when I'm being vile to him) and has taken DD swimming this morning and to the park this afternoon so I've had two lovely long naps. Will got bed shortly and hoe that it does the trick.

Probably being stressed about stupid blood test stuff and the house purchase from hell (we've been trying to exchange for a week now, but one of the excutors of the house we're buying (is a probate sale) has gone awol without agreeing to the completion date ? he doesn't even LIVE there so it makes absolutely NO difference to him anyway, but legally... grrr) and trying to move into a small house with NO sky (and therefore no CBeebies on demand) etc. doesn't help. It'll all pass, but I'd like some closure on some stuff... Too much busy stuff in my head to think about.

Going to fimish cooking banana bread I have made fro DH as a thankyou for being super and sorry for being super-queen-bitch-from-hell

Hugs to all,

db
xx

Hi all - especially Arcadie who was feeling lonesome! Been offline car shopping to replace my now impractical 2 seater convertible. It may seem early at just over 3 mths gone but believe me it's no good trying to sell a convertible in the wet winter so had to be now or next year, which may be too late!! Job done - getting a proper 'family' style car. C3 picasso coming next week. Boring ??????? Safe????? need I go on??? xx
