TMD - welcome!I'm pretty new around here and it is fun to have girlies in the same boat to talk to!

My nipper is two and is a real handful - very hyperactive and can be exhausting!

My 20wk scan is on sunday and DH has to go to the Ukraine for work so I am going on my own (having to take DS but I don't think that counts) We want to find out the sex so I will have to find out on my own and give DH a call when the scan is over - it's a shame but I was on my own for my 20wk scan with DS as it was the day we were moving house so I am not too concerned. DH will be away for most of the week and will be missing our wedding anniversary which is a pain but the girls from my ante natal group (first time round) are coming round to celebrate and relieve the "home alone with a toddler" frustration.

Good weekends all

I'm liking Due March 2010 "we're halfway through".... I think someone else already did the Bryan adams tribute "wooooah we;re halfway there... woooah living on a prayer and not much sleep and a lot of Gaviscon"

Hey girls, a serial lurker here, I do read and contribute when I have something.

I'm 19wks + 3 today and had my first "funny turn" this morning. I was at the laptop (I work from home) and suddenly everything went a bit blurry and I felt really hot. Had a little lie down on handy sofa next to laptop. Thought I feel fine and got up to carry on.

Did not feel fine after all and lay back down again with my feet over the end in some sort of "legs above head" effort. (When I told DH this I think I thought I was sort of folded in half with my legs over my head?)

To cut a long story short I did not feel any better and just hot then cold so I took myself and a big glass of squash up to bed, emailling my boss on the BB on the way to say I was going to bed for a bit- he is understanding and trusts me and also knows I am preggers, obviously.

Anyway, I lay in bed, read a bit of "What to expect when you are expecting" about feeling nauseous and dizzy this month. None of the solutions seemed to fit, I had eaten about 20 minutes before, except for the one about blood being directed to the uterus at the moment rather than my head?!

I fell asleep for about an hour and woke up feeling much better, head ache almost gone and everything.

I stumbled downstairs to get some cake and tea and went back to bed for a bit. Felt fine by 11:30 so just a weird little turn.

Feel good now and have no idea why it happened. I would feel like it was more logical if I had been on the tube or hadn't eaten or something but I guess, that's pregnancy?

Hope all are well x

Oh no Tigress - have you ever had migraine? The "everything went a bit blurry" bit sounded like that. I had my one and only migraine attack earlier in this pregnancy. Good that you feel better now!

Arcadie - you need to know your rock bands a bit better... Living on a prayer is of course Bon Jovi! Good that you like the suggestion anyway.

EmLou - I was on my own finding out sex too last time. DH was stuck in the parking lot looking for a space! So I was already done, waiting in a corridor, he came running and I said "it's a girl!". He then found the sonographer and hassled her for ages asking if she was sure, if everything was ok, etc.

20 weeks today, 20 weeks today, oh yes I am, 20 weeks today
I love the new thread title annamama - go for it !
I've had a quiet week, nothing really to report here, which is nice after our nightmare week with the triple test/amnio stuff going on the week before.
I've got my 20w scan on Tuesday then we are off for a few days holiday - just UK bound DH scuppered the overseas plans which is a shame as I would love some proper sunshine.
Bump getting bigger by the minute, chocolate consumption very high, heartburn bad, pelvic floor not too bad
oh and hello to the newbies

scooby26 dont worry too much about weight. I only put on a stone with my 1st (cause i lost a lot at the beginning), a massive 4 stone with my 2nd and 18 weeks in with this pregnancy I have lost 10lbs (which I will make up for later). All completely different. They hardly ever check your weight at appointments anyway. They'll be lots of people ready to pass judgment on your size. DO NOT LISTEN. Enjoy the way you look.

rebeccacad · 10/10/2009 10:03

Morning all!

Congrats to all who've reached 20 weeks (1 week to go for me) and to those with chocolate cravings I say indulge - isn't your body supposed to know what it needs?! Unfortunately mine needs salt and vinegar crisps all the time...

Just back from post office where have picked up a parcel of the loveliest wool. Am attempting to make a blanket for the baby. Am still quite new to the knitting lark so we'll see!

Had a bit of a scare (again) yesterday with more bleeding. Thankfully as am now past 18 weeks got seen by the prper ante-natal unit who decided I have this thing where cells from inside the womb grow on the outside of the cervix and tend to bleed a bit. It's totally safe and fine - hurrah -and I got to hear the heartbeat again and see a rather wobbly picture on the portable scanner - still looks cute.

Tigress hope you're feeling better today - for me the tube triggers off feeling lightheaded every time so am just avoiding it - maybe you can work out what sets it off and try and take it from there?

Weight-wise my MW said just not to worry - they can tell how the baby is doing and unless you are loosing loads of weight you can't afford to or piling it on at three times the rate they'd expect they don't worry. I have a huge bump, my boobs have inflated and I can't see that I've lost weight anywhere else and yet I've only put on 4 pounds - I think pregnancy weight operates on a different system to normal weight!

Loving the ghostly names and welcome to the newcomers!

Arcadie · 10/10/2009 10:15

Annamama Do you know I woke up at silly o'clock this morning thnking "Oh no!! I attributed Living on a Prayer to Bryan Adams......Eeeek it's Bon Jovi" Thanksfully I went back to sleep again after that jolt of adrenaline.

GhostlyPixieOnaPumpkin · 10/10/2009 10:46

EmLouT. . .Taking your DS for the scan reminds me of when I was expecting DD2, and I ended up taking DD1 with me - she wasn't very old, about two I think, and we were sitting waiting, and all of a sudden I noticed that she had starting peeling the wallpaper of the hospital wall . I was horrified, and sure that they were going to refuse to scan me or something! Fortunately, I think they didn't notice!
DD1 has dancing between 8.30 and 5 in Birmingham today, so I'm sitting in the icecream Bar in Selfridges with DD2 writing this. She's currently eating about twice her body weight in icecream!
Oooh, mine's just come - it looks beautiful (icecream cravings. . .) - I'll write again later!

annamama · 10/10/2009 11:19

Mmm ice-cream! Sounds lovely.

Arcadie - you are back in my good books! Good that you went back to sleep... (I'm an old rock chick and looove Bon Jovi )

I haven't put on too much weight either. We're just all different... as with everything else.

I guess I'll start the new thread then, as this one is almost full! I'll post again with the link!

Hi, don't know how to insert my date into the list above, but am due 27th March with DC2

Tigresswoods · 22/11/2009 11:55

Hey girls, Tigress here just dropping in to say that I have been doing some good research work online. (Golf course shut)

I need some more Pregnacare Plus (not sure if you are taking this, it seems to be the midwife recommended one and has Omega3 in it) and thought I would do a price comparison online. Having checked Boots, Superdrug, Sainsburys (my usual supermarket) and Asda I found Asda cheapest at £6.

Hope this helps any of your out who are already buying it and those who aren't.

Also had smoked salmon with scrambled eggs for brekkie on nutty seedy bread- a great pregnancy brekkie in my opinion.
