Thought I would start a new thread for may. Just got bfp and I am really excited. I think I'm due 30th April/1st May but there are so many people on April already. Heres hoping for a healthy pregnancy. I will just wait for lots more of you to join me. xxxx

sweetkitty · 04/09/2009 09:29

I'm feeling really rough today, have some some of stomach bug, spent a lot of time on the toilet last night and this morning shall we say, am feeling very sick this morning but think that's the bug and gagged when I brushed my teeth which is my surefire sign that I am pregnant.

Just having a quiet day today well I have deposited DD1 at school and DD2 at nursery, have DD3 here just now, DD2 gets picked up at 11.30am, DD1 at 12.15pm, non stop. Things will get better when DD1 goes to school to 3pm after Sept break and next year DD2 will go to school leaving me with just DD3 and DB4 hopefully - eek! I must be mad.

FarahS · 04/09/2009 09:42

Welcome and congrats to everyone new! And thanks ladies for the support you gave me yesterday when I was panicing about those stupid comments. You are just amazing!

Lovely things you all said to Dorothea. I couldn't have said anything better. It must be a difficult situation, but then things do usually work out fine in the end. We have a really complicated situation as well since we don't even know which country we are going to live in next year. I just always try to think that when my parents had me they were both students and had hardly enough money for food. But they coped and managed to give me a lovely childhood. We never had any money but they had lots of time to play with me. So I'm sure people can manage to bring up kids just fine even if the situation is not "optimal". I'm just so happy we are together and having this baby. But I do understand it's not always easy to stay positive if things seem really hard.

I loved Memorylapses mole story as well. Seems that doctors often go wrong with these things. But then I guess it's impossible to know when you can't go in there and have a good look at the tiny baby. I hope everything is fine with the infection thing.

FS hopefully you'll get the scan!

I've got my MW app on Tuesday. She only comes once a week to the docs so I'm sure there's no opportunity to have a scan or anything. But then it's only wweek 6 now. Hoping to get the scan soon though. Oh, by the way.. is it so that you don't get the nuchal measurement scan here automatically? I only just heard about it and can't believe it since in Finland they do it automatically when they do the first scan.

LuckyC · 04/09/2009 10:18

Hello all,

Tentatively joining you all too. I'm a first-timer and still can't quite believe that the blue line's telling the truth. Will be double-checking but until then... cross fingers, EDD 9 May. Ish.

Feeling a bit daunted!

DorotheaPlenticlew · 04/09/2009 12:13

SK, it sounds relentless! Really hope you feel better soon. Do your DDs all sleep quite well, so you can get a proper rest at night?

Thanks again for all the supportive comments people have made

Farah, in Edinburgh we definitely don't get the nuchal fold scan; or at least, the under-35s don't. Now that I am 35 I think I may have slightly different care (from what friends tell me of their pregnancies here) but I'm not sure if that includes nuchal. I know some people who've paid to have one but I don't think we'll do that.

katnkittens · 04/09/2009 12:49

((waves at SK and meanbean))

Tiptoes in and pours a large virgin cocktail.

Following my faint FR yesterday I got a pos on ebay cheapie today.

Can't even think past each day really. 2 m/cs in Dec and Jan at 5 weeks. Praying for a sticky one this time!

I'm 29 and married. I have 3 DCs and a fondness for big age gaps (following the 2 year gap between 1st 2 which almost drove me to the med in white coats)

And me again.

Just moved to a new area; family faaaaaar away; don't know many people. Will be totally relying on you all. Already have so many questions.

Feeling a bit crampy; occasional twinges of like pre-period cramp pain. Should I worry?

I used a ClearBlue test - are they reliable? Is this really happening??

thanks.

Meanbeansmum · 04/09/2009 15:58

Lucky, hiya, congratulations. And a big welcome, you will have loads of friends in here.

Katnkittens!!!!!! Same due date and same number of babies!! We must be bonkers lol!

Sweetkitty, I hope the bug passes soon, it's enough just to cope with m/s! Hugs.xxx

All is ok here, kids back to school on Monday and normailty reigns lol!

sweetkitty · 04/09/2009 16:03

Lucky - at you I was the exact same when I got my BFP with DD1, continued all the way through pregnancy even when I felt her kicking and then when she was born I kept thinking is she really mine? I'm on number 4 and I still don't believe it. Congratulations btw and welcome you have come to the right place I have been here 6 years now and don't know what I would have done without MN over the years, but be warned once you are sucked in you can never leave

katandkittens - welcome and congrats again glad theres a few of us nutters potential mums of 4 here now, I don't think I will be getting a great reaction in RL once we go public so it's nice to have some others on here that are in the same boat.

I don't think there is ever an "optimal" time to have a baby, well unless you have just won the lottery but as long as you give the baby plenty of love, some milk now and again and a clean bum you will do fine.

katnkittens · 04/09/2009 16:21

I totally can't believe it! Despite having a million symptoms... I can't stop peeing, boobs are sore, I am ridiculously tired and I feel like everything I eat stays in my throat for a couple of hours... YUK

Don't think I ever felt this bad this early, hoping its a sign of a nice sticky bean

LuckyC · 04/09/2009 16:34

Thanks so much meanbeansmum, sweetkitty, katnkittens - So you're working on 12 between you?? Glad to see there's loads of experience in the May 2010 bus

Hang in there katnkittens

memorylapse · 04/09/2009 16:54

Ive been to be checked out at the EPU as still had the discharge and am slightly confused by the results and not sure what to think

dipstick test showed a uti which they think could be causing discharge and pain, but they insisted on scanning me despite my insistence that im only 5 weeks today..of course all that was visable on the scan was a pregnancy sack, nothing else..same as my dd2's scan, so not sure what to think..Doctor said HCG and scan was consistent with very early pregnancy of barely 5 weeks, but said because she couldnt see a yolk sac, she could not rule out ectopic pregnancy as apaprently a sac can form in the womb even with an ectopic...so have been sent home..discharge seems to have vanished again, swabs were taken and there was no blood or anything visible on the swab. Doctor has obviously said that at this stage, if its not an ectopic, they cant promise its a viable pregnancy..Im due back on sunday for a further HCG..I did another clearblue digital this morning and this time it said 3 + weeks, so Im just hoping thats a good sign..did a bit of reaearch and it seems 5 weeks is very early to see anything other than a sac

Meanbeansmum · 04/09/2009 17:17

LMAO, imagine a meet up 12 between us.......crikey LMAO!

Well there must be something wrong with me, just had a wispa and it tasted vile! LOL What a shame lol! LOL!!!!

Memorylapse, it's just early days, they are telling you ALL possible eventualities but no doubt all will be fine and it'#s just very early. If nothing else it's an excuse to put your feet up and relax. Hugs.xxx

Katnkittens...one word................TWINS!!!!!!!! ROLLS ABOUT LAUGHING.
MWAH!

Meanbeansmum · 04/09/2009 17:19

I relaly hope that last comment doesn't come back and bite me in the butt! LOL.

katnkittens · 04/09/2009 17:50

Oh yeah meanbeans.... for that comment you're gonna get TRIPLETS!!!

chalkeyb · 04/09/2009 18:24

SK hope you are feeling better - a bug is not pleasant at any time!

meanbeans - just making chocolate brownies and the smell is making me feel quite nauseous! How can that be - i'm sure chocolate should never make anyone feel like this!

Forces - I loved your cannonball comment and really empathise!

As a first timer still in shock and can't quite believe this is happening! Its all so exciting but sometimes I feel its as if i'm learning a new language - its all a bit over my head...

LuckyC · 04/09/2009 18:40

Memorylapse, from reading everything on your post, sounds confusing and upsetting but quite positive to me - two good tests and a scan showing what it should. Let us know how it goes on Sunday. xx

lizzie9442 · 05/09/2009 08:25

memorylapse - I think everything will be fine as I had the same thing with my daughter and they can never see more than that at 5 weeks so I wouldn't worry. Let us know how you get on Sunday and good luck xx

Well the sickness finally kicked in for me last night and I am 6+1 today. Its horrible feeling like this but it makes me feel better as it makes me think the baby is doing well if that makes sense. As my last 3 pregnancies have ended in mc I am thinking about having an early scan at 8 weeks. Would love one now but the longer I can hold off the better. I still have not told anyone including dh that I am pregnant but I know its going to be hard to hide now with the sickness. I am also so tired and keep falling asleep very early. My dh has gone to work today ao need to try and keep my 3 children entertained which so hard while feeling like this.

How is everyone else doing? Anyone else started to feel sick? xx

carikube8 · 05/09/2009 08:32

I'm going to jump in as well as I got the BFP yesterday - EDD May 10th. Knew I was pregnant before then as had been feeling quite nauseous for a few days but DH wouldn't believe me until he saw a positive test himself.

This will be a sibling to DD who has just turned 5 months - if anyone else only has a small gap between DCs please tell me we're not completely mad!!

katnkittens and meanbeansmum - do not even mention TWINS, there is usually at least one person on an antenatal thread has twins, last one I was on it was someone going for no4 and got 4 and 5, my stomach is huge for 5 weeks am hoping it's just chocolate!

welcome and congratulations to luckyC, carikube8 and TheHappyCamper

Small age gaps - so you will both have 14 months between no 1 and 2? I have 18 months between DD1 and 2 and I love it, big fan of small age gaps, hard work at first but I found it easier than the 2 1/2 years between DD2 and 3, DD1 and 2 are the best of friends now too.

lizzie - sorry the sickness has got you, I am getting "that" feeling too, I'm only 5 weeks today as well, cannot be easy after the mcs, have you not be told about referring yourself for a scan at 8 weeks, I was told at my mc next pregnancy to self refer at 8 weeks, before 8 weeks they cannot see a lot, maybe a sac but at 8 weeks they should be able to see a heartbeat and if they do theres a 90% chance of everything being OK. Fingers crossed for us all xxx

sheepgomeep · 06/09/2009 00:35

Please can I join? I found out today I'm around 6 weeks pg and it's a total shock. It's baby no 4. I'm very unsure, going from pleased to down constantly.

Dp and I have had lots of probs to do with money, we have no room in the house, 6 kids in a 3 bed (dsd stay at the weekend) house.

But got some support from family which is good.

argghhh

sweetkitty - I'm not sure about self referal, I think I have to go through my doctor although self referal would be much easier. I will give them a ring next week and see what they say. Sorry that the sickness has got you to.

Congratualtions and welcome to all the newbies xxxx
