im typing this from my bed...im so poorly i cant get up..I think ive thrown up about 5 times today already..the nausea is constant im even waking up in the night to be sick..this is actually worse than my last two pregs as even with ds who I was hopitilised with..I didnt start vomiting until 8 weeks..Im not even 7 weeks yet......sorry to be moaning..but I feel awful..I cant beleive Ive got about another 10 weeks of this

brightredballoon · 14/09/2009 13:36

Suey2 yes thats me! I did give more details further up when you first joined the thread but then there were lots of posts so you probably missed it! So sorry to hear of your poor Dad, like you say in this situation the sooner the better to give him some rest.

TCH - well done!

Kaylo Hi ya, yeah we are all good thanks.Hope you are too?

I feel really tired today, anyone else's children waking at 5.45am at the moment? I think it might be the birds waking DS, wish they would bu88er off !

suey2 · 14/09/2009 13:43

twentiethcenturyheffa well done!

lucky c - i found peppermint tea better than ginger beer. Having some lemon to smell, or something that doesn't make you heave when you smell it. also little and often carbs: i always have a banana or a piece of bread handy. Fizzy water also helped me, for some reason. HTH

made appt with gp for tomorrow, and will book an early scan for a couple of weeks time.

suey2 · 14/09/2009 13:45

hey BRB! coo-el. I thought i had a stalker for a second! WE can be thread buddies again.
I managed the first few pages of the thread, then had to jump to the end it was so long!

brightredballoon · 14/09/2009 13:55

LOL Suey, no wonder this thread was slow to start and then whoosh it really took off! So lovely to have so many poeple due around the same time, the Spring/summer months seem more busy that our last winter due in thread!
Will you be booked into the Portland do you think? It will be great to hear of your antenatal treatment with a place like that, bet there are lots of differences for you and last time.

DD's(3.5) playdate has just cancelled so I feel a visit to the softplay is in order, just hope they both have a nap on the way home to give me a peaceful cup of tea as my reward!

Hobnobfanatic · 14/09/2009 14:12

LuckyC and Memorylapse - you have my sympathies. Today has been the worst so far for the sickness. Horrible! Nothing helping. Will try to get some peppermint tea and ginger beer later - but the thought of anything passing my lips has me heaving. Scrambled eggs and toast helped yesterday, btu the thought of it today is turning my stomach.

I so, so, so longed to be pregnant a second time - but now I remember how much I HATE this feeling. Roll on May, PLEASE!

LittleOneMum · 14/09/2009 14:29

OK, I am clearly tempting fate as I am only 6 weeks and had a MC last month, but here goes... (waves excitedly!). Am being referred to EPU for an early scan next Monday. Am totally symptomless so far... (which worries me!)

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 14/09/2009 14:45

Welcome Littleonemum!

And thanks all for congratulations I'm feeling quite pleased because I thought I'd fail - I didn't have any time to revise this weekend after getting BFP on Friday!

Sorry to those who are feeling so sick already, it's miserable I used those travel sickness bands but I'm not convinced they worked - a friend of mine swore by them though.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 14/09/2009 15:05

Sorry some of you are suffering with MS so badly, memorylapse that sounds really awful! Maybe you should get in touch with your doctor before you get dehydrated too badly?

I haven't had any so far, just a definite "there's nothing I want to eat" feeling in the morning. By the afternoon I'm fine so I've just been eating well the rest of the day.

LuckyC · 14/09/2009 15:27

Hobnobfanatic thanks - will try the peppermint tea.

memorylapse maybe cross fingers because it started earlier it will finish earlier? Hope you feel better.

I have kept digestives AND toast down today, very proud.

suey2 · 14/09/2009 15:29

BRB I won't book the portland- I am definitely going to be the private wing of an nhs hospital so the 24hour care is there. Will probably go back to the chelsea and westminster as the doctors there were ace: just keep the midwives away from me.....
Hope the soft play is fun

I have booked a scan for the 7 week point. Then I can allow myself to get really excited.

Sorry to hear about the MS. I am feeling a little sick, but TBH i think it is the excitement! Occasional dizzy spells and not fancying certain foods, though.

Bessie123 · 14/09/2009 15:50

It's not easy to keep up with all these posts but hello again.

Suey - Have you already been to the Portland? I had dd there and am planning to go back.

memorylapse · 14/09/2009 15:53

Phoned my gp earlier to ask for an anti sickness tablet..I know its not a good idea to take anything but its no good for my baby if I end up dehydrated..lovely gp actually came out to me..she said she needed to make sure I wasnt dehydrated, which Im not (yet), she has prescribed cyclizine..which Ive had before..it makes you feel spacey though..she dipped my wee and is a little concerned as I have leucocytes in my wee, so wants a mid stream spec..I thought that was lovely of her to come out..she could easily have just prescribed or insisted I came into surgery..thats real personal service

I dont think she disputed how ill I was..I look like shit!

mich5lle · 14/09/2009 16:16

Hi ladies

I thought i would add a message as im in real need of support/advice. Yes im pregnant (and approx 5ish weeks), should be confirmed tomorrow at the doctors and expected may 2010. I had a mmc in march and was found at my 12week scan. Throughout that pregnancy i did not have any symptons and did not feel pregnant.Unfortunatley during the early part of the pregnancy i developed a bladder infection and was put on antibiotics. During this time i had bad cramping but nothing else and nothing that made me think i was miscarriaging. This may or may not have been a reason for the mmc. This time i have no symptons (i crave to feel nauseous). My boobs were slightly sore last week but nothing now. I am just so scared that it is happening again to me. Can anyone advise?
Thanks
M x

Bessie123 · 14/09/2009 16:19

Mich - so sorry to hear your mc story. Try to stay positive (I know it's difficult). Wait till you see the doc. Some people don't have symptoms, it might all be fine.

sweetkitty · 14/09/2009 16:26

hi ladies quick message cannot keep up, hope the MS isn't too bad for you all, nothing much to report here still feel rough still look 4 months gone, I am sure people will start to notice wish it were winter and I could hide under a big jumper.

Mich5lle - sorry to hear about your mc, the pregnancy after one is hell with worry isn't it, chances are all will be fine, are you having an early scan.

As for the birth haven't thought that far ahead but will probably be in our bed as the last 2 were. I know I am lucky to have that option and am lucky in one sense I have very fast (if very painful) labours, last one was 1h35m from "DP my waters have just gone to baby out" about 45 minutes of hell, no pushing she crawled out, I didn't push once she was expelled once was a head followed by a body, MWs were amazed.

This time will either be under an hour or a nightmare 3 day one.

suey2 · 14/09/2009 16:30

poor you ML! So good when you have a nice doctor, though.

Bessie i went NHS the first time; chelsea and westminster. I won't repeat the story just now, since i don't want to freak people out, but it wasn't good and that's why we have decided to pay for it this time. I understand from my mates that the porltand is great, though.

Jan9ne · 14/09/2009 17:11

Hello - this may be my penultimate post....
got my blood test results from sat today. Apparently they were fine for 6 weeks - i can't really remember what the lovely nurse said something like 5700???? She took my blood again and told me she will let me know if they have doubled or not. I explained that i've had some moderate blood loss and it's been bright red. No more pain and no clots at all. she said at the moment it's 50/50.
Now i don't know what to think. I shed tears on sat and have told everyone who knew that i am miscarrying. I had pretty much started to come to terms with it and this has thrown me especially as i am fairly certain that tomorrow i will be told that levels are falling. I think i caught the very beginning of the start of a miscarriage which is why the hcg levels looked normal on sat......
Memorylapse - you had some blood loss last week didn't you??
I will update you tomorrow when i hear from the hosp

sweetkitty · 14/09/2009 17:28

Jan9ne - I hope it's not what you think I really do but can understand why you have prepared yourself for the worst. Horrid time for you the waiting, will keep everything crossed for you x

memorylapse · 14/09/2009 18:15

Jan9ne..yes I had some bleeding last week and all appeared ok..although I wont be reassured until I get to about 20 weeks..try not to think the worst..my bleeding was heavy and very red..but theres been no more..your HCG levels sound spot on so will keep fingers crossed for you

Jan9ne · 14/09/2009 18:40

Thanks memorylapse. Am in a horrible limbo-land. I still think that the bleeding and the dodgy looking scan is not good news....

Ordered a case of red wine this morning to cheer us up!!!!! Hopefully i won't be able to touch it til may!

also memorylapse sorry to hear about your awful sickness and your less than delighted mother....

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 14/09/2009 19:29

Jan9ne - crossing my fingers for you, I hope it's not what you think.

Sweetkitty - so jealous of your homebirths! I'd love to have this one at home after what I went through last time but I think it's unlikely

Apparently my MW will be in touch in a couple of weeks to sort out booking-in appointment so that's good. Is there some kind of 'health in pregnancy' grant these days or have I dreamed that?

Memorylapse - sorry you've been so sick Your GP sounds amazing though!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 14/09/2009 20:43

Hi Heffa, congrats on passing your test! forgot to say earlier. Yes there is a health in pregnancy grant, it's £190 and everyone is entitled to it regardless of income, benefits etc I think you can get it anytime after 25 weeks iirc.

Jan9ne I have my fingers crossed for you, lets hope it's just some random bleeding like memorylapse had.

Extremely tired and emotional, can't wait for today to be over because I'm in a horrible mood and I can't shake it off.

sweetkitty · 14/09/2009 21:05

james - great just checked out that Health in Pregnancy grant, result

Heffa - I know I am lucky but I have terrible pregnancies so I see it as compensation.

I am utterly rubbish I have not told the GP or any MWs yet, am only 6+2 weeks, I would rather wait until I know things are going well. I think you get a booking in appt at 12 weeks and your one and only scan to check how many there is, then it's come back in 6 weeks and 6 weeks after that, they don't bother with you until about 39 weeks, then I get specialist treatment and extra visits from the MWs, I think it's because they don't get to do many HBs so it's a novelty so they all pop in to introduce themselves and to meet me and the family, going to be very hard arranging it all with 3DC as well but hey cross that bridge and all that.

Kaylo · 14/09/2009 22:08

well done Heffa it's not the easiest thing to do these days!!

Who mentioned having odd dreams? Mine aren't exactly odd but they are really vivid!! And I can usually remember them really clearly when I wake up. For example - I was dreaming about Robert Patinson last night!! He was ill and I was looking after him . Thing is - I don't even like him, much, I just love the Twilight books

Jan9ne Sending sticky babydust to you honey. I hope it's good news for you!!

I'm finding it hard to keep up with you - you chatty bunch!!
I thought nausea was going to win - my sympathies to all that are suffering with it! - I was driving home when I just suddenly starting wretching, nowhere to pull over. Made me feel even sicker at the thought that if I did throw up dh would throttle me!! Well he'd try

Good news about the Health in Pregnancy grant - I thought I'd imagined it too.
Anyone know what happens with the surestart grant? I don't think I'll be eligible this time around anyway as we both have better jobs now, but it's nice to know just in case.

Hope you're all well xx

Just 2 sleeps to go!!!! Then I'll be (easy)jetting off to Barcelona yay yay yay!!
