Thanks girls, for letting me start this thread - bloody MACs (obviously could be user error!)

Went to the docs yesterday and he thinks may be a Feb 1st baby - but 2nd babies are often early - hope they are as dd was 9 days late - hence I am in the Oct rather than Sept post-natal thread!

Hope to hear from the midwife soon as I will want to book a CVS as I am now 38 - had one with dd last year.

Has anyone got a closer age difference that I will hopefully have - there will only be nearly 16 months between dd and dd2/ds - eeeek!

Welcome to all the other newies

Hi all

Just been quiet as feeling pretty yuck. Dental problems still playing up. My dentist is being brilliant - phoned me at 8.00 the other morn to check I was ok cause he was worried. The problem is that I need major work but trying to hold out till 13th week. Also when I did have some minor work to try to keep me going it made me feel horrendous. SO roll on 12 and 13th week all I can say. My scan is due 4th July so really want it over. WIll have nuchal and dont think will risk having anything else as personally I dont feel I could risk anything invasive.

Best of best for your scan this week Georgie and everyone else. I justam hoping to be able to relax after mine and start to really enjoy this pg while also feeling better.

This weather does feel hot to me - off to have a ham sandwich -not good at eating a lot of things at the moment - dont think I will have a weight problem although tummy starting to come out noticeably now.

Bye for now

MF

Hiya gals,

Hope all scans this week go well. Thinking ofyou.

Birthday meals sounds great, Georgie. I went out for mine yesterday although despite not being sick am finding that meals out are best enjoyed for the atmosphere at mo : ) I asked for veg shepherd's pie in v reputable city centre eatery I love, was brought and managed two mouthfuls : (! Swapped with sympathetic DP for chicken couscous but that turned my stomach too! What they say about a man's heart and stomach - DP was in his element!!

The final straw was the kippers brought to the neighbouring table...........! Cheese sarnie with budget loaf and chutney/pickle anyone?!

Elly x

GeorgieM · 21/06/2005 15:28

Ha, am glad I'm not the only one that's consuming the EU bread mountain!

Fave brand at the moment is Hovis Best of Both...delicious.

Have put on 5lbs so far. Can't see how as puked most of it up! And def look preggers now. Can't even be bothered to try and hide it!

Mak · 21/06/2005 18:52

Hi all. Haven't posted for ages, I've been struggling with work commitments, feeling sick and completely knackered. I've been reading and keeping up to date with all of the gossip though. Glad to hear so many are feeling better. I am 12 weeks today and (I think) I am officially over the MS - HOORAY. Am eating 3 meals now + whatever else, and feel completely normal. I've got my scan on Thursday + nuchal, which I'm a little apprehensive about. BTW, is anyone else having AFP? I'm pretty certain that last time I declined, but dr's and midwife are trying to encourage me to have it. I'm still not sure whether to or not- what do you think?

Rachey1969 · 22/06/2005 06:13

Hi there, my ms has definitely lessened and I am feeling more energy now which is good as I am so busy with work at the moment. I am really liking egg mayo sandwiches for breakfast (although the bread gives me shocking indigestion!)I have my scan and blood tests this morning (no AFP tests though I have decided) and hopefully if all is well, I shall break the news to my other kids - really wondering how they will take it and also what abuse I will get from my ex-h! Will let you know how it goes!

GeorgieM · 22/06/2005 07:56

Rachey - good luck with scan and blood tests. Let us know how it all went.

I was worried about how ex-h would react to news that I was up the duff! He was remarkably kind about it, so you never know!

Went to see Mr and Mrs Smith last night..... what a load of caca! Don't waste your money on it ladies. Plus, am feeling even more sorry for Jen Aniston as there is def chemistry bewteen Brad and Angelina. Me and my mates are def on Team Aniston....

Good grief, must learn to stop typing useless stuff early in the morning!

sweetkitty · 22/06/2005 16:01

hi all

Well after nearly 4 weeks BT have got there act together and I'm back online again - oh how I have missed the internet! The move went well but all of us living in a one bed flat is cramped to say the least, hopefully things should start to move with the sale of our flat soon. So we are all back in Bonnie Scotland as well.

10+6 days today feeling so rough, not actually being sick but feeling grotty all the time and have no interest in food living on cheese sandwiches that I force myself to eat, still the magic 12 weeks is approaching.

Hello to all the newbies I've missed joining, I'll get to know you all soon I'm sure.

Eshay · 22/06/2005 21:38

Glad to have you back Sweetkitty.

sweetkitty · 22/06/2005 22:52

thanks eshay how you feeling now, I know I was working full time when pregnant with DD but this time it seems a lot harder with an 11 month old I keep having to remind myself to feed her as I have no appetite myself.

Eshay · 23/06/2005 08:08

Things are going well. I don't have a problem eating. I want to eat all the time so it's not a problem feeding him. I did start back at work about 4 weeks ago so that has been a major change but I have to say it's not too bad at all. I find it easier than being at home with Thomas. I do miss him of course but I still have four days out of seven where I can spend all day playing with him so it's a pretty good arrangement. I've told everyone at work now. My boss said he was happy for us but I wonder what he was thinking. I'll only be back for 6 months or so and go on Mat Leave again! All my colleagues are very excited and supportive.

Rachey1969 · 23/06/2005 09:19

Morning! I'm amazed at people's reactions including work - I really didn't expect people to be so positive for me. I had my dating scan yesterday - and there's definitely a baby there! :0 whoo hoo! Have celebrated by ordering £65 worth of maternity clothes from Mothercare - have a look at the website, they have a sale on and of course it's stuff we need for the winter! The scan confirmed I am about 12 weeks (and feeling better for it! - except for snotty cold). My official due date is now 4/1/6 but I'm adding 2 wks to that as I'm always overdue. Decided not to have triple test although dp a bit edgy. We're going to have to do our christmas shopping in October girls! I think xmas will be spent flat on back eating and watching TV!

The scan didn't really tell us anything, v quick, no signs of fibroids which is good. I have the 20 wk scan booked for Aug 23rd. DP was very impressed with technology and nursing his very own pic (he thinks babe has his - very long- legs!). Told ex-h who replied 'congratulations' in a text (some sarcasm there I feel but at least it was veiled). Told other kids and was amazed by their totally OTT reaction! They have a list of names already and are fighting over boy or girl! They are taking it in turns to take the scan pic into school to show their class. Also told one local friend who cried! And dp close friend who was really nice (esp as dp missed boys' Prague trip). Happy days! Please last!

Chuffed · 23/06/2005 09:31

Rachey that is such good news, so excited only 2 more sleeps until our scan.
Am also enjoying egg may sandwiches at the moment, and coco-pops for breakfast but not really getting into anything else at the mo. Have been feeling so much better then just had a spell now while sitting at work and had to grab a candy to up my blood sugar quickly.
Good to see you back sweetkitty, we are also in a one bedroom flat so know how you feel, it is crampy isn't it, at least you have the prospect of something bigger soon.

sweetkitty · 23/06/2005 11:27

11 weeks today!! Still don't think theres anything in there when I was pregnant with DD I had had 2 scans by now due to bleeding but it's weird you think they are going to tell you "no sorry you've made a mistake" can't wait for the 12 weeks scan though to see everything is ok.

Have been made redundant from work which I'm really pleased about (the commute would have been a bit difficult 400 miles) the money will come in handy to pay estate agents/solicitors! Feel a bit sad becoming an official SAHM in a way it's a loss of independence and identity but it's only for a few years I've got ot think of it as that and I love being at home with DD.

GeorgieM · 23/06/2005 11:48

Hi Ladies, just got back from my scan. All OK, although too early for them to do nuchal. Beany looking so sweet with little legs and arms flapping about. Got to see the midwife who was lovely and v caring aobut trauma's of last pg. And saw OB doc who was equally lovely and have got hospital date for stitch to be put in on 19th July. So all in all my fears that the NHS were going to be cr*p were completely unfounded. So it really is true that British is Best!!!!

Back for nuchal and chat with Consultant OB on 7th July....

As Rachey says... Happy Happy Days, long may they last.

How's everyone else? And Sweetkitty, good to have you back.

spangles · 23/06/2005 16:28

Hi everyone,
Glad to see some of you are getting past the MSickness. I wish i was but it stayed till about 14 wks with my last pg. I am stil absolutely knackered and unlike me I just find it very hard to eat! I usually eat like a horse but there really are not many foods that "appeal" to me at the moment.
Rachey.. glad things are going well with you and lets hope the next 6 mths go quick before the kids drive you mad asking when the baby is coming
Sweetkitty.. glad your settled, and i totally understand how you have to remind yourself to feed your kids coz your not hungry, I havent put any weight on yet coz I just struggle to eat, but I'm sure I will make up for it when this morning sickness passes
Midwife is coming to do my booking in appoointment next Thurs although I am being sen by Cons. at hospital so there was no rush.
Roll on the time when my energy comes back
see ya soon xx

lyra41 · 23/06/2005 17:54

Hi

I'm stuck in limbo waiting for the results of my CVB test. I think I've decided to terminate if there's something radically wrong - like DS or some other serious chromosome disorder, I really, really hope I don't have to make that decision, obviously. I've thought about it lots, and it's to do with me being older, I feel it would be unfair to foist the responsibility of a sibling wiht special needs onto my other 2 kids. Sounds very hard I know, but I think that's what I'd do.
The results were supposed to be ready today, but apparently 10 days is the average wait time, some cells take longer to grow, so we just have to wait and hope. The chances are 1 in 50 of bad news, or 98% chance of good news, which sounds better doesn't it? I was really hoping we'd be celebrating tonight, but no. Dh and I are going to Pizza Express for something to eat any minute, so that should take my mind of thing. Kids are out at friends' for tea, so we should enjoy some child free time while we have it eh?

Rachey, so glad to hear about your kids' excited reactions. Mine were the same, my daughter's desperate for a girl and my son wants a brother, of course.

Sweetkitty

Glad to hear about your redundancy. Mine was a shock, but it all turned out well as I retrained and now I love my new job as a Speech and Language therapist.

Off for food now, see y'all later

Rachey1969 · 24/06/2005 07:53

Thinking of you Lyra - it must be an awful wait. I am just knackered in this heat, driving up and down the M4 at least 2hrs a day at the mo and going to Newcastle next week. Will be glad when the next couple of weeks are over and things calm down. MS has passed pretty much but plagued with 'post nasal drip' ie catarrh, which is having a similar effect on me! Glad it's Friday, need a rest this weekend!

Chuffed · 24/06/2005 09:54

morning all - hope the news is good today lyra. I had an amnio last time as my bloods at 15wks came out quite high and so we had to do all that soul searching and it really is awful. Hope that we don't have to go through it this time.
Had been feeling so much better but the last two days I felt like crap, don't know if it is just that I am really tired or what but am feeling very sorry for myself.

lyra41 · 24/06/2005 13:20

Good news, phew, phew phew! All chromosomes present and correct, and a healthy baby boy is in the making.

I'm just so happy now.

Chuffed · 24/06/2005 14:10

Oh that is such good news -

teuch · 24/06/2005 15:21

Hi there - just skipping over from the Due Feb thread to ask a question...

Did anyone still have crampy, achy, stretching uterus type pains at over 8 wks? I keep getting these and since I had a missed m/c last pg I am really aware of them.

Apart from that, feeling v pg - huge boobs, sick, tired, hormonal...all the good signs!

All the best with your pg's
