spacecadet · 03/06/2005 19:48

nemo, its most likely nothing, i had lots of bleeding when preg, if you get anymore after the weekend go straight to epu.{{{hugs}}}

spacecadet · 03/06/2005 19:50

nemo, if you phone the gynae casualty dept at the womens hospital they may well scan you if you seriously push for it, otherwise try ringing your community midwife.

EskimoMD · 03/06/2005 20:12

Does anyone know of an antenatal yoga class in Birmingham?
I'm due 5 Dec and now that I have my energy level back up I'm ready to get moving!
Thanks.

dramaqueen72 · 04/06/2005 10:02

nemo, well there you go, no more having to fib about anything to get another scan.you DID spot some and now need a scan. not sure if youre correct over weekend scan policy as if it was emergency they would certainly scan you. i think you need to be mroe assertive about this, and more positive that they will help you out- because they will honest!. call them see what they say, if youre right about scans over weekend they will at least get in on monday. and finding the heartbeat is a big plus!
eskimo- have you tried googling it? i found some classes via google, all abit too far away from me tho.
er george, i was talking about desperate MIDWIVES rather than des housewives (tho also very good!)its on bbc 3. i have no idea no which you were talking about!!
i'm 11wks today!

george32 · 04/06/2005 13:54

LOL DQ. Obviously my brain is so addled it has lost the ability to read now!

Nemo, fantastic news about hearing the heartbeat but I'm sorry about you spotting. As DQ says, no reason at all why the EPU won't scan you now. Can you go back to your friends over the weekend to use the doppler again to re-assure you?

Nemo1977 · 04/06/2005 15:44

hi all
im ok actually no more spotting at all but thanks for thoughts. Will just tell mw on tues as i know epu dont scan on weekend as when i was having ds i had bleeds and if u went in on weekend they booked u in for the next week. So dont see point in sitting there for 3/4hrs with a narky 19mth old to be told to come back. Am hoping mw will work her magic and be able to get a next day scan again.

hope ur all having a good weekend

Bonkerz · 04/06/2005 20:10

Was worrying about you NEMO. Glad the spotting has stopped, hopefully it was just that you wiped to hard or something.

My ms has come back with avengance but is in the evening! Have bought some AVENT essence stuff to help ease nausea and aid restful sleep! Hope it helps cos im fed up of up chucking all the time. Dh was shocked last night cos we went to KFC for tea and i couldnt manage a 2 piece meal! ended up giving him some! Thats unheard of!!

beckymumof3 · 05/06/2005 17:43

Hi all. Just back from camping in peak district and lugging tent etc. around - am knackered but thought I'd pop in to see whats been going on.

Nemo - hope all is going well and you find your assertive self to get a scan next week

Bonkerz congrats on scan

And hip hip hoo bloody ray that the kids are back at school tomorrow!

I just got my scan appt through for 27th June which seems an eternity away and I will be 13-14 ish weeks...Am thinking my dates may be wrong - my ms has totally gone and am only 10+4 so early for that - and am also totally largely showing. So i'll see what happens on 27th June..

Hope everyone is well today - its been very quiet

ebbie22 · 05/06/2005 17:44

DQ - good luck on scan.

Bonkerz - hope m/s gets better. Mine has 90% gone now.

I look big already - people are starting to offer me a seat on the bus/tube!

Bonkerz · 05/06/2005 20:52

BOOTS was £5.99 but well worth it IMO. Its called SLEEP EASY ESSENCE by avent.

george32 · 06/06/2005 08:22

Good Luck with your scan DQ.

sweetheart · 06/06/2005 09:40

Morning everyone,

Nemo I'm so glad to hear that you heard your little beans heartbeat. If you are at all worried about the spotting please please make sure you get yourself along to the hospital and demand to be seen!!!

I'm now 14+1 and seriously panicing that something is wrong - no change there then. I'm kicking myself a bit coz I could have had a scan this morning to put my mind at rest but I do feel happy with my decision to move it to Thursday. (sort of!!! )

Went to the christening yesterday - some cheeky cow asked me if I was having twins THEN she had the cheek to come over later and suggest perhaps she'd jumped the gun - she had decided it looked more like triplets !!!!!!!!!!

Lots of people asked how things were which was nice considering I hardly knew most of them. Also got told a couple of times how well I was looking which was lovely!!!!!!

Can't believe my dd will be 5 tomorrow - my little baby is all grown up!!

Bonkerz · 06/06/2005 10:09

Got my doppler today. Tried it out and know i definately got whooshing sound which is placenta but not certain i got a heartbeat but thats fine cos im sure placenta wouldnt work without heartbeat right? Im not gonna panic cos if you go by scan dates im only 10+1 but edd means im 10+5 so could still be too hard to hear heartbeat and also baby could behiding amongst my flabby tummy!!

sweetheart · 06/06/2005 10:22

Bonkerz, sorry to be the bearer of bad news but when I went for my last 16 week check they couldn't find a heartbeat. The midwife said the whoosing placenta noise was a sign that everything was OK, but I was worried and took myself off to the hospital for a scan - they confirmed our baby had died.

On the up side 10 weeks is still very early to hear the heartbeat so I'm sure there's nothing wrong!!!

Bonkerz · 06/06/2005 10:31

thankyou sh, will get dh to try again later and if still nothing will wait a week and try again. Im not too worried cos feel sick etc and baby was fine on friday.

beckymumof3 · 06/06/2005 11:42

Bonkerz - really its luck if you get to hear the baby's heartbeat before about 12 weeks so I wouldn't worry too much about that. Like you say you are still feeling sick etc so its highly likely that everything is fine.

HTH

expatinscotland · 06/06/2005 11:49

Am still feeling rough. The Sea Bands help a lot. 12 weeks + 1 here. Next scan a week from Wednesday.

Mostly just SO tired. The fatigue is overwhelming at times.

Am looking forward to a long time off in mid-June/early July.

george32 · 06/06/2005 12:58

Why the long time off Expat?

Nemo1977 · 06/06/2005 13:38

hi all hope u r all ok
i am just shattered..didnt sleep very well last night and by way ds is behaving he musnt have either so if anyone wants to borrow a 19mth old then feel free...lol I am 12+ 3 today and have got mw tommorow morning. Then we are going away to torquay on saturday which should be nice....
anyways take care all

ninah · 06/06/2005 13:51

bonkerz if you are feeling sick that's good (in a manner of speaking)
nemo good luck with mw tomorrow hope this sets your mind at rest, what a hurdle it all is.
I have not been feeling sick until recently, I was v sick before mc to the point of losing weight and it makes me scared (illogically) cos it reminds me of that time. Also I'm craving horseradish which I did then, oh dear. I guess we have to keep positive and try not to worry, oh for the halcyon first pregnancy days when all I worried about was what music to play to the bump ... HA!

dramaqueen72 · 06/06/2005 14:12

back from scan which was great. all wonderful, exact size it should be and got a very very wriggly cute baby in there, got a scan photo which has been impressing grandparents ever since.
now we are 11kws+ we are officially relaxing, have now told everyone and can stop trying to hold bump in(!) and go price up baby items. its WONDERFUL to be at the end of such a worrying time. christmas baby here i come!
bonkerz, sorry no luck for you with doppler, did you try all the things its sayd on 'helpful hints' page that comes with it? we can usually find ours after a few moments looking, if not a walk about usually shifts it some......mind you having seen how much this little guys is dashing about in there i think its amazing we hear them at all! arent the dopplers top range tho? my midwives is much older!
