Nemo1977 · 08/06/2005 08:51

aww george hope u get lots of little naps in between doing stuff then..
I am hoping ds will have a good 3 hr sleep

MINNIE1 · 08/06/2005 08:53

Make that 3 of us!!! trying to sleep and just cant. Waking for the loo and not going back to a full deep sleep and then alarm goes off and i am pretty grumpy!!!! aghhhhh the joys

OP posts:
george32 · 08/06/2005 08:57

Thats me too Minnie. I get really thirsty in the night too but I have to weigh up what is worse, staying thrsty or having a drink & then needing the loo. Either way sleep is out of the window!!

No-one tells you about all this do they. I had a really rosy image of pregnancy with me swanning around looking gorgeous. Can't even be bothered to get dressed this morning let alone attempt to look presentable

Nemo1977 · 08/06/2005 08:59

bless george and ur naive image...i rememeber being like that with ds...sigh

Good news is it does get better at around 15wks u feel normal and do made stuff like scrubbing house cos u have sooooooooo much energy

george32 · 08/06/2005 09:02

Is that when I start to look gorgeous too Nemo? PMSL

Nemo1977 · 08/06/2005 09:03

aww george bet u have that glw already..mainly from sweat, feeling ill, and frustration at lack of sleep but hey ho who cares where we get it from..pmsl

george32 · 08/06/2005 09:09

My eyes have a wonderful glazed look from all that sleep deprivation!!

MINNIE1 · 08/06/2005 09:11

Sure i am gorgeous!!! (ya right) In a pool of sweat every morning and just have to run for the shower but it takes ages to get up!!!

OP posts:
ninah · 08/06/2005 09:29

I need matches to keep my eyes open and we are SOOO busy at work
Roll on trimester 2 I say
Will we be gorgeous?! too tired to care right now

sweetheart · 08/06/2005 11:23

Morning all.

Sorry to hear some of you aren't feeling too well. I myself have been feeling quite nautious today which I hope is a good sign as I've also been having stomach cramps.

Well I've got my scan tomorrow so only 24 hours to go before I know for sure if everything is OK.

I know we've had this conversation before but I'm just looking for some reassurance - is pasturized Brie OK????? I ate a big slab yesterday and now I'm feeling guilty.

dd had a fab birthday yesterday - can't believe my little baby is 5!!!!!

MINNIE1 · 08/06/2005 11:42

sweetheart
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your little girl, time really flys when there that young.
Brie cheese, as far as i can remember it advised to eat hard chesse. Due to listeria in soft cheese (spelling!) Could have that all ar$e ways. But i really dont think it could cause any harm to have a bit.
Hope all goes well at your scan tomor, and the cramps go away. Have you any brown discharge or bleeding??

OP posts:
sweetheart · 08/06/2005 11:52

no, I haven't had any sort of discharge or bleeding.

Sorry TMI about to follow....
I had been getting the extra creamy discharge but that seems to have stopped over the last couple of days. All things that add to my paranoid state!!!!!

MINNIE1 · 08/06/2005 12:34

The creamy discharge is fine, i have that and goes and comes all the time... The only thing to watch for is the brown discharge, This is how i MC last time and have been really paranoid about it this time.. I didnt have a clue about it then!!! thick or what..

babygibbon · 08/06/2005 13:23

Sweetheart - as far as I'm aware the only reason you shouldn't eat soft cheeses is because they aren't usually pasturised and therefore may contain bacteria. Same with raw eggs - fine if pasturised but they aren't usually. So if the brie was pasturised it should be fine, imho.

Chickpea, thanks for the reassurance. DQ is right, all I get is, so it wasn't planned then? Poor baby to have a birthday at Christmas and other such. I am getting tired of it already, but not as tired as I was of the "are you expecting twins" comment in my last pregnancy. Yes, I was big. Yes, she was big. No, no twins and so on. I got such rude comments, such as "I look positively anorexic next to you" (from someone who used to be a friend), "it's very big, aren't you worried?" (well, I am now), "Are you sure you'll fit through the door?" etc. Grrrrrrr. I'd love to be slim with a neat little bump, but it just isn't going to happen, I'm not built that way and it'll go the same way this time. Oh well, they may be distracted by the Christmas due date!

babygibbon · 08/06/2005 13:24

Sorry, didn't mean to rant. A bit heated about that subject

MINNIE1 · 08/06/2005 13:45

babygibbon,
Tell them if its a boy your will called bubs Jesus and if its a girl your'll call bubs Mary... lol At least it will give them somthing eles to talk about..

OP posts:
sweetheart · 08/06/2005 13:46

babygibbon - thanks for putting my mind at rest

As for the xmas baby comments - you should come up with one really good come back which you can always have to hand. Something that will stop people in their tracks.

Perhaps
"well don't tell anyone but dh isn't actually the father. Come xmas day 2005 Jesus will have a new sibling and I will rule the world"

Not sure if that would work but there must be something shocking you could say to make people shut up!!!

I sympathise with the "twins" comment. Someone said it to me on Sunday I didn't think I was that big for 14 weeks!!!!

dramaqueen72 · 08/06/2005 16:13

afternoon ladies
oh i'm with you on the crap sleeping.woke up at 4am and could NOT get back to sleep...until of course it was time to get up for school run...agh! feel 'beyond' tired iykwim.....
YES we do all get to look better and feel MUCH better sometime during the second bit, honest george hang in there
s/h -good comment, babygibbon and i will have to come up with one 'catch phrase' i think. I'm so happy to be having a baby, whos healthy and wriggling about in there, that the 'oh no bad timing' comments really upset me. and belated happy b-day to your five year old!!
babygibbon i too get huge 'out of proportion' bumps, and many comments of how big i am.isnt it depressing!

ninah · 08/06/2005 17:18

I am proud to be huge! I am pregnant!! I don't care who knows it (as soon as I get the wretched scan in my hands EVERYONE will)

Nemo1977 · 08/06/2005 17:36

mychelle · 08/06/2005 18:57

Hello all.

I have been watchin but not posting for a bit. Saw midwife yesterday 1st time. Pleaded ignorant to knowing date and have a scan booked next week. BIG THANK YOU to DramaQueen72, your wise words helped me to get the scan - proving yet again this site works.

Was very surprised midwife was lovely and my boyf and I heard the heart beating - little bugger hid well tho so it took a bit! Other half was welling up, I found it all rather bizzare, but time to sink in has helped overnight and i am defo pleased all is (touch wood, my head) going well.

Thank you once again, PS is this the bestest longest thread or what?

dramaqueen72 · 08/06/2005 20:15

oh my goodness, i said wise words well thanks mychelle, and so very glad you have a scan booked, hope you get some lovely lovely look at your wriggly bean!! keep posting more, we will all need each other during the coming months.

Bonkerz · 08/06/2005 22:54

Hi all, glad to hear all is good today except the tiredness. Im sleeping ok but am having the most vivid dreams and find myself getting very upset by them. Sickness not been too bad today just queasiness. Used doppler again tonight and got placenta no problem, then i kept hearing the fast clip clop followed by a whoosh and a growl and from reading my notes i believe my baby is jumping all over the place which is what it was doing last week at the scan!!

scully · 09/06/2005 09:00

Had my scan yesterday and it all went well, little person was wriggling around, I'm a low risk for downs and it's all developing as it should be. So nice to see the little heart beating Next scan is booked for 8/8 at 21 wks.
As dh is on sick leave this week, I took the afternoon off and we had lunch on our own (dd at nursery) and then went to a movie, first time we've done that together since I was pregnant with dd 3.5yrs ago - such a nice day!
Sweetheart, on a different note, I'm sure pasturised brie is fine, I've found some pasturised goats cheese brie that I've been eating - as long as it says pasturised I'll eat it!

expatinscotland · 09/06/2005 09:07

Still queasy here! Deffo getting a 'bump' but still just looking thick around the middle in my clothes.

Scan the 15th.
