wellies I don't own any!!!

Glad to hear I don't have to wear a hat!!! We're doing the day and evening but we're not going to watch the rowing (well I hope not anyway)

So if we're going to both should I make sure I've got something really posh on for the evening??? Sorry, I've never been before and don't want to look out of place!!!

ninah · 03/06/2005 10:09

well I have only ever been for the evening and the first time I wore a cocktail dress but other pple were in long. Felt a lot comfier 'mentally' next time in long - but physically v cold and damp hence the welly advice! I'd imagine a longish flowing dress would take you through day and evening but I will check with the group we go with as they are based in Henley and will know more about daywear than I do, esp I will check on the hat issue, I haven't noticed pple in hats in the evening but maybe they take them off .. I will find out all I can for you. The grass can get damp and slidy - it seems to rain a lot! - so I'd err on the side of flattish (but pretty) shoes in the case of us preggy ladies! I wouldn't worry too much about fitting in, there are conservative older ladies and young things in cling, the whole range really! there's a great atmosphere, artworks, music, fireworks, the main thing is to enjoy it. Looking forward to it now! maybe it will even be sunny

George - Just popped over to say I am so glad that everything is going so well for you. Take care and look after that little wiggler.

DQ/Nemo - Hope everything is well with both of you.

sweetheart · 03/06/2005 13:08

ninah, thanks for the info. I'm crap at this posh stuff!!!

Minnie, as this is your 1st I wouldn't expect you to have a very big bump at 4 months - I didn't show until about 6 months with my dd.

I've just phoned to hospital to put off my scan on Monday. It's my dd's birthday on Tuesday and the thought of getting bad news the day before her birthday was making me really upset. I just can't spoil her special day so I decided to try for a different appointment.

I'm going on Thursday now instead - which is our wedding anniversary!! Oh well, beggers can't be choosers!!!

ebbie22 · 03/06/2005 13:15

Sh,its long but clingy,it is lovely though my fav by far,can you do a picture of you?

sweetheart · 03/06/2005 13:20

have no idea how to do a picture but if it's clingy it's probably a no go as these things always seems to make my arse look 4 sizes bigger than it is!!!

Thanks for the offer though - your a gem!!!

dqueen - wishing you all the best for your next scan and seeing your beanie transforming from cute little cashew nut to beautiful bubba shape.

expatinscotland · 03/06/2005 15:18

I found an Indian shop across the street selling loose tops and trousers, kaftans and tunics for dead cheap. OMG! I spent £20 and came out w/two pairs of drawstring trousers, two kaftans and a tunic. Bring on the bump.

dramaqueen72 · 03/06/2005 15:32

oooooooooh expat! thats not fair!!! i want some!!

expatinscotland · 03/06/2005 15:38

They're comfy and cool. They had cool jewellry, too, but I don't really need anymore jewellry.

ninah · 03/06/2005 17:20

exp I'm

ninah · 03/06/2005 17:24

oh and swht if you are a size 12 you CAN'T have a big bum. It isn't possible!
whatever's a doppler?

goldenoldie · 03/06/2005 18:01

Yes, I got a dopplar too. Been listening to twins heartbeats every night - one is low down on the right and one is low down on the left. Also gives me the heartrates too which I'm recording a a little book that comes with it.

Def. reccomended.

Nearly 14 weeks now!

dramaqueen72 · 03/06/2005 18:17

14wks! wow.I'm
ninah a doppler is the thing midwives/drs use to listen in to the heartbeat. you can hire or buy them yourself too.
did/does anyone watch the desperate midwives last night (also on mondays i believe) i loved it! cant wait to get to that moment again!!

george32 · 03/06/2005 18:26

Ooooh me too, 14 weeks already! . Congratulations G'oldie. Must be amazing hearing 2 heartbeats.
I might go & sit on the Jan thread so I'm ahead of everyone rather than being one of the last over here!!
Hoping time speeds up a little bit now I've relaxed somewhat.

Watched Desperate Housewives religeously until about 3 wks ago but the girls in the office have filled me in on all the story. Didn't know it was repeated on Monday so will have to prop my eyes open with matchsticks to watch it. Can't tear me away from Big Brother though. Can't stand any of the people in there but still have to watch it!! Drives DP mad.

Nemo1977 · 03/06/2005 19:15

hi all
been a bit of abitter sweet day today. went to see my friend and used her doppler and found heartbeat. I am 12wks today so felt on top of the world. However when i left my friend my mum phoned and i went to meet her at the retail park, went to loos in m+s to find i am spotting a tiny bit..hardly noticable unless u were looking iykwim...i think its prob cos ive over done it today as cos thought pg was over i was just being soft today. i am feeling ok in sense that i deffo heard heartbeat and so did my friend and it was around 160...just feel like someone is laughing at me like ha ha u thought u were ok type of thing. no point going to epuy today as they dont do scans over weekend..so will keep an eye on it and see form there.

by the way george thanks for ur message on ther thread ..lol
