Minnie- rented mine from site i linked before.....mybump.co.uk, excellent service (next day delivery too) and good site.these are real midwife quality dopplers,(often better than some midwives!) not those cheap rubbish 'headphones' type that are out there half the price (had one of those before and couldnt even hear the baby at eight months!!! duh!)nemo, good for your friend, hope its easy to find the heartbeat, -they are still really low remember, just above pubic bone. if i ever cant find mine i walk alittle and find the baby 'floats' back nearer the surface and i can find him/her. theres no mistaking it btw, unless you usually have a pulse going as fast as a steam engine in your lower tummy!!! i dont know how long i will keep mine, just until frequent movements i guess. as all my m/c have been missed/silent this is my reassurance this time round.
nemo, i think the sickness/tiredness and stress of sitting out the first trimester have got to all of us, and also heightens any other worries. hang in there.
george, hope today goes fast enough for you!! i book all my scans at 9am if poss as go abit dolally waiting!! betcha cant wait!!

george32 · 02/06/2005 20:55

Hi everyone, just a flying visit to say all went really well at my scan.
We have a healthy wriggling little bean. 33mm long now & my due date has changed to 29th Dec so 10 weeks today.

Absolutely delighted as you can imagine

dramaqueen72 · 02/06/2005 20:59

yey george, good for you! 10wks eh? youre catching me up!

Bonkerz · 02/06/2005 21:10

congrats george! We do all still seem to be hanging in there! Im going through every emotion possible tonight. Have scan at 9.30 and part of me is terrified about the baby having died and part of me cant wait to see my wriggling bean. Dont know how to get through tonight and the scan tomorrow. Am trying to remain distant but also want to break down and scream. the pressure is just too much right now.

Bonkerz · 03/06/2005 07:22

ok am off for my scan. Please evryone keep everything crossed for bean and me

george32 · 03/06/2005 08:20

Good luck Bonkerz, will be thinking of you. I do hope everything is OK.

ninah · 03/06/2005 08:35

Well done George! and good luck Bonkerz! so reassuring to see everything is OK. Thank goodness for scans, I guess in the old days it was a complete waiting game.

ebbie22 · 03/06/2005 08:45

Congrats george,on your scan....
How is everyone this morning?Got to cut hair at 10.30 so must get showered and ready ...but am still here lol...
Nemo, how are you feeling today? If I had the money I would send you for a scan myself,I only wish I did have...xxx

ebbie22 · 03/06/2005 08:46

oh good luck bonkers

sweetheart · 03/06/2005 08:58

Morning everyone,

Ebbie, I'm generally a size 12 and I need one of the outfits for this weekend. Also have a posh hen day event and a posh wedding in July!!!! Ekkkk!!!

Nemo, right lady - you dissapear from this thread and I'm gonna start an e-mail campaign bugging you to come back!! I'll have to msn you all day, every day!!!
Seriously though sweetie, I'm sorry your feeling low - I can really sympathise - I'm crapping myself and feeling low and I have a scan on Monday so lord only knows how you must be feeling.
The doppler website hires them out for £25 a month. You would probably only need it for a month coz then you'd be able to feel the baby moving - is there any way you can afford £25??? How did it go with your friends?? Did you get to have a go??
Please let us know how your doing - your not alone remember!!!!

George, congrats on the scan and hope yours went well bonkers.

Has anyone heard from hereshoping??? Been away alot this week, have I missed her????

ninah · 03/06/2005 09:00

nemo started another thread under Pregnancy. She sounds really down but is hoping to persuade the hospital for another scan today ...

ebbie22 · 03/06/2005 09:01

I have a lovely dres you are welcome to borrow but cant really send pictures....Its blue with slits at both sides, would look great with a bump but very fitting...

sweetheart · 03/06/2005 09:04

ohh sounds good - what length is it?? I have a problem with fat legs, bum, hips etc etc etc

I'll try and find Nemos thread

ninah · 03/06/2005 09:09

it's in active convo's ...

ninah · 03/06/2005 09:10

sweetheart, I told you - khaftan!

sweetheart · 03/06/2005 09:17

lol,

I actually saw some piccies of celebs wearing them the other day - apparently they are very fashionable.

Trouble is I have quite a rounded figure and could well end up looking like a weeble!!!!

ninah · 03/06/2005 09:24

there you go - I'm not lying!
there IS the Dennis Roussos (Sp?) trap tho. The paradox of baggy clothes - you have to be SOO skinny! shame your other dresses weren't OK, they did look good in the pics. I saw a great top in H&M Of all places, brown with smocking across the bust and kind of flowy transparent below, with sequins etc, I wear it with white low cut trousers and wedges, looks OK (preg rather than fat iykwim). I'm going to Henley in July, long dresses, so may fall into the khaftan trap then! I'll post a pic if it's hilarious!

expatinscotland · 03/06/2005 09:26

I've been wearing kaftans for years. I have loads of them and I'm glad they're back 'in fashion' b/c they're covering my thick waist well just now.

I'm already thinking about how the shed the pounds post-partum. I know I'll go back to Pilated and yoga and running, but am thinking of 'The Great American Detox' or GI diet as well.

ninah · 03/06/2005 09:29

the last time I wore one was when my mate brought it back from Lebanon and I wore it as a nightdress until I got locked out of my flat one morning and had to telephone a locksmith from Baker St station in the rush hour wearing it and nothing else

sweetheart · 03/06/2005 09:30

ninah - my posh hen do is Henley Regatta - how wierd is that!!!

ninah · 03/06/2005 09:31

blimey - may see you there! we are going on Sat 9th, how about you? By then I will be indistinguishable from the hospitality tent!

sweetheart · 03/06/2005 09:36

We're going on Sat 2nd - that would have been weird - I would have been looking out for pregnant women everywhere!!!

Are you wearing a hat - apparently my mum says I should but I'm not so sure - I think she's confusing it with Ascot!!

expatinscotland · 03/06/2005 09:39

When we went to Nepal I came home with over a dozen. Still have 'em and they're still going strong! They're easy to wear and keep you cool in a hot climate. I absolutely love 'em and would keep wearing them even if there were 'out of fashion'. I also love tunics and snapped up over a dozen of them in Pakistan and India.

ninah · 03/06/2005 09:40

No, no hat
Evening dress, and pack umbrella, wellies and a warm wrap!

ninah · 03/06/2005 09:44

agree expat!
or day dress for the day, obv, sweetheart, sorry (preg brain) we do the pm session, never see the rowing!
