What? No morning birth announcements? We're slacking ladies!

And don't look at me - we've decided that the little one isn't going to come out until her hair's perfect (too much like her mum!) LOL!

My bet's still on 1 week late and this weekend.

How many of us are past our due dates now?

jumblies · 12/08/2009 20:04

Good luck Heinz Hope everything goes well for you and bubs.

duchesse · 13/08/2009 09:37

I dreamt that I birthed this baby totally unexpectedly and painlessly with no warning whatsoever. Wishful thinking!

Have been having significant BH every ten minutes or so for two days now. Hope it's all doing something...

Longtalljosie · 13/08/2009 10:47

I thought we might be on at about 4am this morning - sort of like period pain - but then it went away and I went back to sleep.

Today plenty of BH but nothing else.

One day over...

CoonRapids · 13/08/2009 10:53

That's kind of similar to me - woke up in the night last 2 nights with period type pain. And then both times started shaking all over (think due to nerves and it being nighttime). Then back to sleep and nothing other than a few BHs the next day! I get more anxious about going into labour at nighttime, think because it was night time last time with dd so feel that it's more likely to happen then...

41 weeks today! Such a strange time! Duchesse - I'm having weird dreams like that too.

kitkatqueen · 13/08/2009 12:35

**
Birth Announcement!!!!!! Sadly not me

Heinz had her baby this morning early hours, she said I could let you all know, but I think i'll let her fill in all the details.

Congrats Heinz

YAY!!!

Me next please

duchesse · 13/08/2009 12:45

Hooray for Heinz!

No, no, kitkat, it's me next thankyouverymuch.

cairns · 13/08/2009 12:45

woohoo congrats Heinz

I too have been having the BH mid-night experiences but have managed to sucessfully sleep through them, as last week I stayed up all night for one night thinking about it and was even more exhausted the next day.

Now 41 +2 and off to the hospital this afternoon for yet another check-up, they may induce I don't know. I now it sounds silly but I am worried about the size of this one, I have always been told it is big and had the scans to tell me that too...but now I am well over a week overdue, it can't have been doing anything other than getting even bigger!! I am really struggling with the weight of this one am fortunate I don't have SPD but my knee joints are now in agony.,.. come on baby!!!

duchesse · 13/08/2009 12:45

Hooray for Heinz!

No, no, kitkat, it's me next thankyouverymuch.

kitkatqueen · 13/08/2009 13:07

NONONO!!! Its me next > Meh!! actually its probably not LOL!!

Someone figure this out for me tho. I can feel the babies head deep in my pelvis - dp could feel babies head through my cervix when he checked and yet my midwife is suddenly saying "ooh noo small baby and head is not engaged at all" after saying "maahhooossive baby" all along.

DD1 had very wide shoulders(she got them stuck), is it possible that the midwife is feeling the baby's shoulder and mistaking it for the head? Baby is swishing LOA and ROA at the moment...

What do you think?

YanknCock · 13/08/2009 13:28

Yay Heinz!

kitkatqueen · 13/08/2009 13:31

hey yank! I saw my osteopath the other day and not only is my back better again but all the poking of the great expulsion point has made all my swelling go down I assume thats what has done it anyway!! He also said to give him a call if I want him to induce me

Longtalljosie · 13/08/2009 14:37

Congratulations Heinz!

Hawkmoth · 13/08/2009 15:01

Congratulations Heinz!

KKQ, I'm laughing at the idea of someone poking my great expulsion point.... I've become quite juvenile, suspect the sleep deprivation.

Six big painful CTX at 0300... then I went back to sleep. Meh.

DP is on the verge of a breakdown I think. He's tossing and turning all night (despite me doing my best to wear him out ) and he's completely unable to sit still (think 5-year old after TWO packs of smarties and a fruit shoot!).

Anyway, I'm sat with a hot wheatbag for the crampy-pains that seem to come every afternoon.

What ever happened to POP-PAIN-PUSH????

BabyBump2B · 13/08/2009 15:29

Hooray Heinz!

Well ladies I may be going into labour! Woke up at 2:30 with backache and regular contractions about every 15 mins, not overly painful but enough that I couldn't sleep through them IYKWIM. Took a Gravol, hotwater bottle and slept for a couple more hours. Woke up to pee and was greeted by a very bloody show which scared the hell out of me. And now just trying to rest (haha) as we have a midwife appointment anyway this afternoon.

Hawkmoth · 13/08/2009 15:54

Good luck BB2B

josiejo79 · 13/08/2009 15:55

Hi all,

Is it too late to join in? I am 39+2 with first baby and never know what any of the odd twinges and pains are that I keep having. Woke up at 238 the other morning with really strong stabbing pains either side of my lower abdomen which went away and haven't been back since, i presume these are BH?

babybump hope it is labour, good luck.

Hawkmoth · 13/08/2009 17:14

Hi josiejoe - it's not too late - WELCOME!

babycat · 13/08/2009 18:31

Just a quick post to say baby Reuben James arrived at 19:16 on 11/08/09 weighing 8lb. Had show on Monday, went to maternity unit at about 5am on Tuesday morning but only 2cm dilated so sent home again. Went back at about 3pm and was 5cm. Somehow managed without any pain relief but extremely sore now. Felt exhausted last night and Reuben difficult to settle due to having lots of wind but having a better day today. Hope everyone else is doing okay, will go & join post-natal group when I get a chance .

Congratulations babycat.

Love the name, sadly Reuben doesn't work with our surname (two Bs close together).

Well done on no pain relief. The bruising was the worst for me on days 3/4, it's horrible and I don't envy you!

HeinzSight · 13/08/2009 19:37

Congrats babycat, hopefully this is it babybump

ThanksKKQ for posting the news...

Baby Imogen was born this morning at 1:45 weighing 9lb 6 oz, big like her brothers! SO pleased to have 2 boys and 2 girls

Good luck everyone xx

kitkatqueen · 13/08/2009 23:50

I really love that name heinz!!! I'm looking forward to 2 of each too! Looking forward to the pics and the birth story.
xx

Congrats babycat - another fab name

BabyBump2B · 14/08/2009 00:20

Congrats Babycat & Heinz - both FAB names!

Well we're def moving along - only 1cm dilated but effaced (was very far back last week) and thinned. Under orders to rest and sleep tonight and if needs be we'll do another sweep tomorrow morning. Have been around 5 contractions an hour for more than 8 hours but they're starting to get stronger. I'm surprisingly more excited than scared too! Good luck to all of you who are waiting!

duchesse · 14/08/2009 10:50

OK, bored now. Couldn't get to see my midwife this week due to the fact that my surgery seemed to have taken its appointment line phone off the hook all week. I tried ringing the other number and someone answered straight away, but refused to book me in and referred me to the (engaged) appt line. So I'm not going to get my 39 week appointment until 40+1 on Tuesday. Ho hum.

Hoping that the baby comes before then tbh- seriously bored now with practice contractions and BH. Although I had a very promising one at around 3 this morning; not followed up by anything alas. Seriously, sleeping lying down is not all it's cracked up to be, is it? I've been awake at 2am and unable to sleep anywhere but upright on the sofa downstairs now for over a week.
