Hawkmoth · 07/08/2009 19:24

Tee-hee... just joined the aptamil baby club because they have a free polar bear offer. Currently wetting myself at the fatherhood article.

"At this stage, Hawkmoth needs you more than ever. She may be grumbling more and more with the growing discomforts of pregnancy. Give her your undivided attention and make sure she's the focus of your world. Help her relax in the evening by rubbing her back and feet. A spot of massage oil will help immeasurably.

As time goes on, she may become weepy and vulnerable or extremely moody. Tell her how beautiful she is and what a wonderful mum she'll be. Why not serve her breakfast in bed and help her feel like the special woman she is.

Well into the third trimester, you might be starting to get a little apprehensive about what's to come. The baby's not even here and yet your world is already changing. Take your sexual habits, for example. Mum's tummy lends itself to discovering new, more comfortable positions for love-making. This is a time for taking it slow and sensitive (YUCK!).

Then again, since it's hard for your partner to get comfortable at any time, sex may be something confined to your fantasies right now. Try and NO - it's TRY TO be patient, things will return to normal eventually.

Hilarious!!!!!!

CoonRapids · 07/08/2009 20:06

Congrats ready and valz and noodle! Good luck Sheena Hilarious fatherhood article..

I'm in the 'waiting impatiently' group. Had loads of texts etc. from people and patiently replying to them all. But as I've got to beyond 41 weeks in the last 2 pgs, I don't know why they think this one is different. When you're waiting for something as earth shatteringly significant as birth you feel internally focused and it's hard to deal with everyone else's interest and need to be involved!

But it does remind me of a bad situation we got into 1st time around with DS' birth. I got induced and it took 24 hours until the birth and dh didn't update any of the grandparents during the labour. Turned out my parents were really really worried and quite miffed. But we were just in this unreal world and mistakenly assumed they'd prefer to get the good news once everything had happened. Still feel quite bad about it. This time my parents will be looking after the dcs so we don't have that issue but am going to try and get dh to let his family know as well when things kick off.

Dunno what dd is going to do once my tummy has gone away seeing as pummeling it is part of her cuddly comfort routine... she'll be most put out! At 2.9 bit disappointed she's still hanging onto her nappies (will be 2 in nappies here ). She has started insisting on which ones she wants, purple, not green and saying 'I like my nappies'...

HeinzSight · 07/08/2009 20:12

Congrats. valz and haribosmummy.

My beautiful daughter, Felicity, was born at 2.49 am at home in the birth pool in 4 hours. Was in denial about actually being in labour until I realised I was pushing! Hmm! But VBAC went well and only v. small tear needing no stitches at all! Yeah!

Congrats MrsThePoint! Lucky you didnt need any stitches at all

Congrats to Valz and to Mrs the point!!!

ScummyMummy · 08/08/2009 16:58

yippee- well done valz and Mrsthepoint. Love the name Felicity.

Mimile · 08/08/2009 17:15

Hello,
Just thought I would try a last minute join-in... I've been a regular reader, but never actually posted.
I guess I'm in a bit of denial, EDD is 25/08, but as I am still at work, the birth is still very much at the back of my mind most of the time (except when insomnia strikes)...
Anyhow, not long to go, looking forward to hear more about all the August arrivals!

BabyBump2B · 08/08/2009 18:15

Nados - he's so gorgeous! Its nice having a reminder of why we're putting up with all these final niggles!

Mrsthepoint - Congrats on Felicity, I too adore the name!

Last night the baby's head seem to get lodged in a funny position and I couldn't stand up straight. Poor DH had to come rescue me from the loo

I've also just seen a posting for possibly my perfect future job and feel like I should apply for it but can't exactly take it right now if they wanted me. Not sure what to do. At least its taking my mind of the face that I'm due tomorrow!

Longtalljosie · 08/08/2009 20:32

Hello Mimile!

Congratulations Mrsthepoint and Valz!

kitkatqueen · 08/08/2009 21:39

omg this thread has suddenly gone mad! My baby brain can't possibly keep up with who has popped and I can't remember what I just read

I'm still convinced that I won't realise i'm in labour until its too late! I'm getting contractions randomly all the time and every time I feed ds they get really strong.

Going to see osteopath on Tuesday so looking forward to less back pain and the added bonus that he might start off the labour with all his cricking and cracking

Huge congrats and best wishes and sleep filled nights for all the "popees" with their gorgeous babes.

I've just got half a house to clean and a load of nappies to hem and then the baby can turn up anytime . If only you could really plan things like that ~LOL

fairygirl3 · 08/08/2009 22:11

readyfornumber2and3 · 09/08/2009 07:48

Congratulations to all the new arrivals im afraid you are all popping to fast for me to keep up lol

The babies finally have names!!
Sophie May and Adam Edward are doing really well and feeding bang on every 3 hours at the moment.
Daddy is stuggling with the lack of sleep but I am not too bad. Infact I have felt fantastic since the birth apart from yesterday when the day 3 blues hit a bit, feeling alot better this morning though

Hope everyone else is coping and that you wont be waiting too much longer

Longtalljosie · 09/08/2009 08:09

Lovely names 2and3!

Now, after days of wanting to go into labour, would be grateful for 12 hours worth of don't go into labour vibes from you all, as the in-laws are here all day...

cairns · 09/08/2009 08:22

I'll join you on that wishing non labour vibes LongTallJosie as it is DH's birthday today...all week have been wishing but really dont want it today

Congrats Fairygirl, and love the names Ready. I think we will also prob have a delay with naming as we really haven't got anything sorted at all this time.

duchesse · 09/08/2009 08:25

There. Feeling more optimistic already.

Congratulations to all the recent arrivals' parents.

MrsThePoint- My oldest daughter is a Felicity. Everybody (including her, even at that difficult age (apart from a time when she was about three and wanted to be called Bella)) has always loved the name. Her friends call her Flick or Flea.

VJaybigpants · 09/08/2009 09:01

All these babies, it's sooo exciting . I'm getting impatient now, I'm so uncomfortable and my legs and feet stay constantly swollen, but still got 2 weeks and 2 days to go

quixotic · 09/08/2009 09:26

Congrats on all the babies and lovely names, I want to be next!
