That's a good idea, Duchesse. Was trying to make things clearer last time but it got longer instead of shorter and I missed mayl out! Really sorry, mayl. Many congratulations on Arabella.

We're exactly even on gender at the moment!

sheenaisapunkrocker · 07/08/2009 07:33

My waters just broke!

(why am I shocked when I've been so pissed off all week with the false starts?)

Confuzzeled · 07/08/2009 07:38

Hello,

I was on this thread months ago, but not been on for ages. I'm due 21st August.

Looks like loads of people went early.

Good Luck Sheena.

craftynclothy · 07/08/2009 09:16

Good luck Sheena.

I'd better cross my legs til you've had yours . (We're booked with the same midwives and I'm hoping 2 can come out to me so that one can look after dd if needs be! - in case anyone thought that was a wierd thing to say)

duchesse · 07/08/2009 09:53

Good luck Sheena!

Longtalljosie · 07/08/2009 10:39

Good luck Sheena!

sheenaisapunkrocker · 07/08/2009 11:28

Hi Crafty, keep those legs crossed or you might have to come over to mine!

Nothing happening yet - except a steady drip (sorry if TMI)

Thanks to all for for the messages of support x

quixotic · 07/08/2009 11:57

Good luck Sheena!

Hawkmoth · 07/08/2009 12:22

Congratulations to more babies

They're fairly popping out! Shelling peas eh?

Nowt to report here. I've given up - decided I'm not bothered about having the baby after all! Meh.

Yesterday in a fit of preparedness, decided to make vast quantities of pasta sauce and tomato soup. It's ever so tasty, but DP has put his back in a spasm from chopping the tomatoes. This is not good for the eviction programme, and we've had to resort to the Other kind of sex since he can't really move! I'd laugh if I was sleeping and not in pointless pain!

HeinzSight · 07/08/2009 13:17

Good luck Sheena!!!

Hawkmoth, your poor DH with a chopping tomoto back related injury Sorry!!

readyfornumber2and3 · 07/08/2009 13:18

Hi all thanks for the congratualtions

Baby Boy and Girl (still no names lol) are doing well and had quite a good first night, they are feeding well and baby boy is so placid and laidback it is unbelievable lol Baby girl on the other hand loves to whinge and be cuddled all the time lol

Hope things are moving Sheena and you are holding your little bundle soon x

Can wait to pop on and see more announcements in the coming days/weeks cant believe how quick he last 9 months have gone (easy to say now ive popped lol)

OonaghBhuna · 07/08/2009 13:55

Good luck Sheena!
Have updatred the post natal thread, thanks Duchesse.

trixymalixy · 07/08/2009 14:34

Good luck sheena!!!! kitkat it was the start of a show so more like the brown blood you get at the end/start of a period so I'm not worried. Obviously her fiddling around in there had some effect!!

longtalljosie he is going to leave us in peace for a couple of days when teh baby is born. He says he is coming sat/sun to try and get it finished.

cairns · 07/08/2009 14:44

Good luck Sheena and congrats Ready and Noodle (wow that was quick.. I am guessing you didn;t quite make it to the hospital)

Well curry, pineapples et al didn;t work last night am still here. So far today have also fielded the daily MIL check-up of signs call (still grrrr, although I did enjoy saying that the hospital said yesterday not anytime soon...), 3 neighbours knocking on my door for something or other and 3 phonecalls from friends.....

Feeling surprising chirpy though today and v proud of DH as he spoke to MIL to make it clear on the no overnight guests policy in 1st 2 wks (as MIL stayed for 2 nights last time for bonding on day 3 and day 4, which I really struggled with) . MIL had a bit of a grump and then tried bribery, what if I make a casserole and bring it..... DH stood v firm saying not fair on my family either who also live a 3 hours + drive away... sooo very proud of him. We are not saying no visitors (she can come and see the baby and either stay in B&B, go to my SILs after (only 1.5 hr drive away) or travel and go back home in a day (which we have done a lot recently with toddler in back of car for numerous family events) So chuffed with DH, he is now being v v supportive in the last week or so.

MrsThePoint · 07/08/2009 16:06

Congrats. readyfornumber2and3 so glad all went well! Rather quick in the end! And both were bigger than my first son! And congrats. noodle12 the speed must have been a real surprise! Wow!

Thirst sweep has now failed, but have favourable/soft cervix, head well down, bulging waters, continuous backache and had contractions every half an hour all yesterday and last night. They stopped about 4am and I finally had a bit of sleep! So tired and emotional and so fecking sick of people asking ?any news?? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Sorry, a bit hormonal I guess.

Longtalljosie · 07/08/2009 17:12

That's good news Trixy.

I am so so so over this whole pregnancy lark. I want to:

  1. Lie on my back
  2. Not have a foot permanently pushing out of my side
  3. See my baby (which obviously should have come first)
  4. Lie on my back

Do you think if I make myself nest, it might help? Am out of fresh pineapple... but having curry tonight...

BabyBump2B · 07/08/2009 17:32

Hi All!

Good luck Sheena! Still in a marginally foul mood today and ignoring my phone. Am thinking of changing the answerphone message to tell people that we haven't had the baby and we'll let them know when we have because I'm tired of sending everyone to voicemail because I don't want to talk to them!

May have to punch whoever tells me "just 2 more days" or "any day now". Is it wrong to generally hate anyone who went early? (aside from multiple mummies who have my sympathy)

That said I've now decided that we have to have at least one "fun" activity planned each day because staying home isn't making me a nice happier person!

So... any news on full moon babies?

Rachel1963 · 07/08/2009 17:59

Hi, I'm another one who's utterly fed up with being pregnant. Four days overdue now. I had my second sweep on Weds and the midwife said things were progressing and that she was hopeful it would start things off but it hasn't . DS was two weeks late and I can't face going that much over again, particularly as I'm much bigger and more tired this time round. Have been feeling quite weepy about it all today. And like everyone else, I've got the phone calls and texts coming from all quarters which really doesn't help. I'm now dreaming about being able to have a brie sandwich...

But many congrats to those of you who have had your babies already

sheenaisapunkrocker · 07/08/2009 18:59

well, 12 hours on and still no further. Still leaking (nice) and had the odd period pain-type contraction, but nothing really happening. I'm beginning to think that my body is playing tricks with me and I'm not really having a baby at all

Sympathies to everyone who is heartily sick of waiting.

valz · 07/08/2009 18:59

well ladies

Just to let you know i had two beautiful boys on the 3rd of August. On Sunday night around 11.30 my waters broke, i phoned hospital, they told me to come in so they could confirm they were broke then they would send me home to come back in monday morning. heading in the road the pains started and by 12.30am i was 2cm, pains got more intense and they decided to admit me and send me to delivery immediately, got the epidural at 3.30 by then i was 5cm and oh what a relief. by 5am i was fully dilated and told to relax for an hour and start pushing at 6am, baby 1 was coming face up so little progress was made after an hour of pushing, the consultant recommended something be added to the drip to increase intensity of contractions to encourage baby to turn, by 8am after another hour of pushing and still very little progress i was brought to theatre and at 8.20 my first boy was delivered by forceps and with much more pushing my second boy was deliverd at 8.40 by vacuum. twin 1 was 6lb6 and twin 2 5lb4, absolutely perfect, and doing well.

breastfeeding is going well, very demanding but definately worth it. hope all is well with everyone.

duchesse · 07/08/2009 19:01

Congratulations Valz! What excellent weights as well.

BabyBump2B · 07/08/2009 19:08

Congrats Valz!

Hawkmoth · 07/08/2009 19:18

Congratulations Valz

Sheena, hope things start moving for you soon.

Re the tomato chopping injury - I had five weeks sick very early this year bcause chopping an onion did something awful to my back with the SPD. I think the kitchen tops must be at a rather unsuitable height. DP a little better, but he won't lower himself to using my post-birth fanny icepacks on the injury yet.
