tennis - wow that is something at this stage, swimming also stopped a couple of weeks back when I could no longer fit into my large maternity swimsuit

Heinz I think I am with you on the can;t possibly get any bigger, am now down to only 2 pairs of maternity bottoms and 3 tops as everything is starting to feel too short....

It is exciting the closer we get more babies start popping out.... congrats to Leningrad and hopefully we should have some more babies imminently. Yank I had the same realisation as you yesterday that this huge bump has got to come out someway...doesn't look possible when I look at it.

I too am getting sick of the comments, my neighbours keep lurking in their front gardens when we have visitors, or when DH is near the car to 'check' so on purpose I always waddle out so that they can well and truly see it hasn;t arrived yet!!. I don't have the problem with my Mum though as she is staying with us until baby comes, although everytime I wince from being uncomfy she seems to check all is OK... mmmm not sure it was that good a plan to have her here to look after DS for if I go into labour.. as was in early labour for 2 days last time, although it does sort out the stress of finding good childcare.

martinemorris · 28/07/2009 20:15

Oliver Isaac Morris was born at 16:13 today weighing 8lbs 4ozs at the Portland. Section was amazing and apparently I won't even see the scar.....

thought i'd repost the list with the latest arrivals added!

congratulations martine, glad it all went so well

i notice there are quite a few people now who are just past or approaching their EDD - how are you all getting on?

OP posts:
ScummyMummy · 29/07/2009 09:57

Good idea, Becksy. It's nice to see the arrivals clearly. We need some more girls! Boys are 4:1 up.

2HotCrossBunsAnd1InTheOven · 29/07/2009 10:56

Morning ladies. I have been lurking and reading, just not posting as I don't feel like I have much to say! Congratulations to all the new arrivals though. Well done Becksy about doing an arrivals list too, I had been thinking about sorting that out myself but not really motivated....

Am now 40+1 and my 2 boys were born at 38 and 39 weeks so I was not prepared to go over! In my darker moments I worry that it's because there's something wrong with this baby but I'm sure she's just got comfy - more space this time I suppose...

Like Cairns, my mum is also here - mainly because my grandfather is very ill and in hospital just down the road. He's been hanging on for the last 2 weeks also. Now I'm over dates my mum doesn't feel like it's worth heading back to her home (she lives 3 hrs drive away) and the boys are used to her being here in the morning. She's earning her keep though - baking, tidying, laundry, changing my bed, clearing the garden and planting some new shrubs etc etc. Luckily DH doesn't seem to mind his mother in law being here for nearly 2 weeks now!

I'm just getting bored with living groundhog day! As son as anything happens I will update you. In the meantime good luck to everyone else - looking forward to hearing about more births

Congratulations Martine! Babies everywhere, so exciting.

sheenaisapunkrocker · 29/07/2009 15:17

Congratulations Martine! Another one here safely.

Since my run of contractions on Monday morning I've gone completely off the boil. Having the odd Braxton Hicks, but walking the dog and aquanatal do not seem to be moving things along.

Might be a while yet - not holding my breath.

Poor DH was so excited; even though when I told him that the contractions had stopped he said "oh good, do you think you could wait until about Wednesday next week so I can finish off at work"

Yes, dh, I will do my best

duchesse · 29/07/2009 15:51

Lovely midwife came today to deliver homebirth pack and go through checklist. Told me to dig heels in if labour ward attempt to make me come in when I go into labour.

Baby appears to be partially engaged! Fourth baby and this is the first one to be seen to be engaged before labour. Will be able to knock me down with feather if this one actually starts without waters breaking as well...

kitkatqueen · 29/07/2009 16:32

Congrats Martine!!!!!

YanknCock · 29/07/2009 17:19

Congrats Martine, and welcome to baby Oliver!

Does suddenly becoming exhausted and sleeping all day (when previously a bundle of nesting energy) mean anything good?

Saw the consultant today, have to see her again in two weeks and in between that go to the day unit for BP profiles and urine checks twice a week. They should offer some kind of discount parking pass .

BP ok today 132/70, but feet are enormous and painful, hands are going numb all the time, and heartburn is kicking in in the daytime now (used to only be once in a great while at night). Baby still 3/5 now with back on the left. I'm like magbag's DD, shouting 'come out now, baby!' Really really getting sick of this. I'm trying to cheer myself by saying it's an absolute maximum of 40 days I can go without a baby (figuring 2 weeks overdue), but that isn't helping much.

Forester · 29/07/2009 18:16

Congratulations Martine!

I'm hoping it won't be long before I join you - my EDD is this Sunday and as DH has finally finished painting the nursery () I think we're as ready as we can be...

And belated thank you to Scummy and Becksy re answering my query re pushchairs. I managed to get a good deal on a second hand Quinny on ebay. My DH is very proud of me as he likes a good deal!

VJaybigpants · 29/07/2009 18:28

Congratulations Martine

kitkatqueen · 29/07/2009 23:24

Hey Yank, My hospital validate parking tickets, but only if you ask them. The don't advertise the fact, last time I was in I was watching a man feeding coins into the parking machine on the way out, he was doing this whilst juggling a bounty baga gift bag and loads of "its a girl " balloons. It didn't take a genius to realise he was the new daddy. I just couldn't let him do it so I interferred and sent him back to the ward to get his ticket validated - he had apparantly already paid £12.00 earlier that day

They either reduce it to £1 £2 or make it free, deffo worth asking...

Uki · 30/07/2009 08:36

Martine big CONGRAT'S to you and dh, I hope you are enjoying your little one as much as I

Becks- Thanks so much for the arrivals board, nicely done.

Yankin- You could always demand to be induced with my 1st born the hospital kept me monitired like you, but with my second and third the dr. just says lets not let it get out of hand, I have to tell you it does mean you have less chance of getting post eclampsia. so i was happy to be induced and feel so much better than i did.

pussface · 30/07/2009 08:49

Congratulations to all the new arrivals

I'm just lurking every now and then, not much to say as having a pretty easy time of it, just got some new lovely varicose veins to weep over.

My new baby is still cooking didn't really expect anything to happen yesterday my DD was 40+15 so am prepared for a wait. I've booked a MW appointment for a 'supermarket sweep' as DH likes to call it at 41 weeks.

Friends and family are now waiting expectedly. I'm really excited can't wait to get her out and meet her and at the same time a little stressed about how the birth will go.

Argh DD is attacking the laptop must go!

Good luck everyone, I will post if anything interesting happens.

MakkaPakkasWilly · 30/07/2009 09:34

I want to die now

can't sleep on back, as I can't breathe
sleeping on side knackers my hips
SPD is preventing me from walking
I have had D&V for 4 days, only just seems to be settling

Went to antenatal appointment on Monday and BEGGED for induction but they said no

GET THIS LITTLE BUGGER OUT

I am 37 weeks. Still got 3-5 weeks to go (DS1 was 40+19 I think)

sheenaisapunkrocker · 30/07/2009 09:58

MPW - I know exactly what you mean about side sleeping, I keep waking up in agony (although TBH I have to work out each time which pain it is, my back, hips or bladder )

I'm now pretty close to my due date - Is anyone else sick of being asked by well wishers if anything has happened yet? Do friends think that I would keep news from them? I know people are excited, but it's driving me mad!
