Martine - good luck for tomorrow.

Hawkmoth - Good luck with the kids! Also that she was misdiagnosed...imagine that's happening a lot more than it should.

Sheena - fingers crossed it either gets going properly or settles down til it's going to happen rather than having lots of false starts iyswim.

Yank - glad the hospital were understanding...I expect they're used to it. I had discharge when pregnant with dd1 and was wondering if my waters had gone...I even made dh sniff it . Anyway my waters did go a week or so later and it was v different!

Becksy - glad the diabetic nurse was nice.

Oonagh - glad the tongue tie is sorted and bf is goign well for you.

Heinz - I'm with you on the worrying about pnd thing. Am trying to be prepared by checking out local groups I can go to with both dd and baby (I know getting out & about helps me). Also getting a lot more postnatal support this time and am a lot less isolated.

Had mw today. Everything fine, baby still very well down. Was a bit cos she brought a student with her (with my permission) and dd just kept pointing at the student saying "What's that?"

Hawkmoth · 27/07/2009 15:33

Good luck for tomorrow Martine.

Have just put the little ones to bed with the old "if you go to sleep now, Daddy will be home from work when you wake up". Mwah ha haaaa!

Just passed my second big lump of jelly for the day. What a delight.

quixotic · 27/07/2009 16:15

Good luck for tomorrow Martine!

becksydee · 27/07/2009 16:30

ooh, best of luck for tomorrow martine!

hawkmoth - that really is immensely crappy timing. glad you've got them to bed for a bit though, hope you can put your feet up for a bit this afternoon.

yank - don't be embarrassed! much better to get these things checked out, good that they were understanding about it & your BP is still ok.

sheena - those signs sound promising! hope things get going properly soon.

went to the diabetes clinic this morning - joint thing run by an endocrinologist and an obstetrician. they're happy with how i'm getting on, which is great didn't see dietician as she was off sick today, but she's going to ring me to make an appointment asap. in the meantime, they've referred me to the nutritionist (i think? not really sure what the difference between a nutritionist and a dietician is!) cos of my BMI, seeing them on thursday. back to the diabetes clinic once a week until baby is here.

have also got my appointment with the perinatal psychiatrist on wednesday, so this week will be a busy one. am reading the posts from those of you with experience of PND with interest, & want to do what i can to avoid it as i know i tick about every risk factor box going! hope we can all support each other a bit through MN as well.

best news from today is that they were a bit more positive about the whole birth centre issue (with the caveat that it wasn't their decision to make) - basically said that if we wanted the midwives who run it to nail their colours to the mast now, they would say i couldn't go there, but if the diet control continues well then there is potential for them to change their mind. they gave me the name and phone number of the manager so me, DP and my doula are going to make an appointment to go and speak to her in a couple of weeks.

got the gym ball out last night and had a nice bounce, got a bit of a shock this morning though when i looked down and there was a good couple of inches of space underneath my boobs that hadn't been there for the past few weeks!

Hi All!

Martine - Good luck for tomorrow - I'm sure everything will be fine and you'll have a gorgeous bebe to inspire us all with!

Yank - I hear you on the leakage! Mine is (TMI alert) a strange beige colour but I've been assured its totally normal???

Sheena - I've had the contractions that lead to nowhere too. Several hours on Thursday & Friday and now nothing - not even braxton hicks!

Becksy - That sounds so much more positive with regards t the birth center and the GD - I'm crossing my fingers that you'll get the birth you want!

It is WAY too hot here - mid-30's and I'm melting. I've been trying to convince the baby that she needs to come sooner rather than later because I might die of overheating if she's not careful. Am finally officially off work so very much looking forward to slowing down and not having to think so much! Although today the house is such a tip it won't feel like a day off!

magbags · 27/07/2009 18:04

Hi Everyone,

Can I join in the chat please? I have added myself to your list (hope that's ok). I am probably really late in signing up as due 23rd August but hey ho - better late than never!

This lo is a boy and already have a daughter, who is age 3. Have kept quite well but have defo found more niggles in this second pregnancy. Anyway, glad to be nearing the end now and can't wait to meet the lo.

Enjoying reading about how all the other August mummys are doing and congratualtions to those who already have their babies in their arms (wishing it was me!)

Welcome magbags

fairygirl3 · 27/07/2009 18:38

crafty-oh that so made me laugh, getting your dh to sniff ,that has cheered me up for the day.
martine-good luck for tomorrow, how many weeks are you?Im having a section to on the 4th ,was suprised at having to wait till 39+2,thought they did them from 38 weeks.hope all goes well for you.
Have been lurking on here just not posting, have had a lot of crap going on but hopefully all sorted ,just in time.
feel sorry for you all with the braxton hicks, have had a couple of times when i feel oh this is it,then all dies down,i feel sorry for myself & think i shouldnt have to put up with them as not going to be going into labour so could do with out the practice.

ScummyMummy · 27/07/2009 20:17

Hi magbags.

Has your new moses basket arrived yet, nelly? Have you down as my punt on the next person to give birth! Though unless you are delivering as we speak I think Martine may be a better bet. Good luck for tomorrow, Martine.

I thought vindaloo sounded like a good plan so am discouraged to hear of the hiccoughs, hawk! OMG re all your stepkids having to descend on you right now... My twins have discovered tennis in a big way and are insisting on dragging me out to the free courts at the park to play every 2 seconds(we are all beginners and not whizzkids and run around missing the ball a lot in a way that is not ideal with a late pregnancy waddle) but I feel I'm getting off very lightly compared to you. Could dp not take a bit of emergency carers leave to help out a bit if the op goes ahead?

Wonderful news on the breastfeeding, Oonagh.

V glad to hear you're feeling better, KKQ. I'm usually v v v laid back about illness but all the reporting re late pregnancy being an unfab time to get swine flu has been v difficult to hear and I am so pleased all is well for you.

Excellent news re the diabetes being under control, Becksydee. I reckon it was your mum's roast that did the trick!

I think false alarms are v common yank, as crafty attests. What are you like getting dp to sniff your discharges?!

Hope it cools down for you soon, bb2b. That sounds far too hot.

Hawkmoth · 27/07/2009 20:24

The XW isn't having the op or 4-6 weeks. Apparently it's about a week recovery so we'll have to have them for that but hopefully I'll be a bit more sorted by then. I mean... it could have burst - how scary is that?

Back to the birthing ball.

MrsThePoint · 27/07/2009 20:31

martinemorris good luck with the c-section. Your baby will be here by this time tomorrow.

magbags welcome. My DS is 3.

Getting so much back ache and tummy ache / period type pain and contractions now, since Saturday really, but nothing more eventful.

ScummyMummy · 27/07/2009 20:53

V scary. Poor woman. Thank goodness it didn't burst.

HeinzSight · 27/07/2009 21:09

martinemorris, good luck from me too!! Hope you manage some sleep tonight! I remember what i was like the night before my c-section!!!

magbags, welcome on board!! Never too late to join.

Kitkat, I do hope you feel properly better soon xx I saw MIL (and that FIL) yesterday to hand over our eldest who's staying with them for a week. She didn't mention anything about the sling, I do know she's been working on it. I'm glad you've got your sewing machine up and running again.

Scrummy, I take my hat off to you even attempting to play tennis!!

becksydee, re PND, that would be GREAT if we could support each other. I'm going to start a PND support thread, I'll link here when I've done it. Is this your first baby? If it is, there's every chance you won't get it. I'm only bricking it because I've had it three times.

Well teh antibiotics seem to have worked and the UTI is better, although not helped at all my this LO kicking and punching my bladder!! I really don't feel how it's physically possible to get any bigger!!!!!!! Anyone feeling the same. I SOO feel like there's no more room left in there!

HeinzSight · 27/07/2009 21:11

crafty, I hope you too don't get it this time x

HeinzSight · 27/07/2009 21:44

martinemorris · 27/07/2009 22:20

Hello all, thanks for all your kind messages...

fairygirl3, I will be 38+4 tomorrow....

Will let you know what happens xx

duchesse · 28/07/2009 06:53

I believe that Leningrad has a baby. (boy, born by C section soon after midnight).

duchesse · 28/07/2009 07:11

Thread here.

ScummyMummy · 28/07/2009 08:48

Thanks, hawk. Tragically I have actually found it surprisingly exciting on the rare occasions I've managed to hit the ball!

Ace news re Lenin! Thanks for link, duchesse.

anniebigpants · 28/07/2009 09:12

Hello ladies, just popping in to wish all you August ladies the best of luck and many congrats to those who have already had their babies.
I was on this thread for the first couple of months (was AnnieCam38) but unfortunately had to bow out after a MMC at 12 weeks. Im now 22 weeks pregnant and due beg December.
Big waves to anyone who remembers me.

nellyup · 28/07/2009 10:27

Bit late now but good luck martine - hope it all goes well and look forward to hearing about your little one.

Scummy - no, new basket hasn't arrived yet but has been dispatched so could come anytime. I am so ready now, really hoping baby comes in the next couple of days. Even my older two are bored of fielding all the questions from people now!

craftynclothy · 28/07/2009 10:47

Hi Annie, all the best for December x

39 weeks today and wishing this baby would come cos I'm fed up of the phonecalls. This morning my sister phoned, had just finished talking to her and the phone rang again. It was my mum...saying "I've just rung your dh at work cos I was worried about you, you didn't answer the phone, I thought maybe you'd gone into labour" . FFS the phone went straight to answer phone indicating someone else was phoning me, I have a toddler to look after so can't always get to the phone as soon as it rings, I have spd which also makes me slower to get to the phone and yet she assumes I must be in labour or something must be wrong ARGHHHHHH

VJaybigpants · 28/07/2009 10:51

Big waves to annie my fellow bigpanter

magbags · 28/07/2009 12:22

Thanks for welcoming me ladies. Sorry just realised that I should have inserted myself in due date order on the list. What a numpty.

MrsThePoint think this pregancy has seemed to last an age for dd. Is your ds getting impatient too? DD keeps shouting at my tummy "come on baby, come out now!". I'm hoping he's listening in there .

ScrummyMummy can't believe you are managing tennis! I just about managed to take dd swimming yesterday. Feeling huge at this point! Got the vibe that people at the pool were looking at me thinking "she's going to pop any minute"!

becksydee · 28/07/2009 12:36

babybump2b - ugh, that sounds unbearable! and i was moaning when the temperatures were in the high 20s here a few weeks ago.

welcome magbags

scummymummy - tennis??! blimey, you're brave! i think i'd probably look like one of those ballerina hippos out of fantasia if i attempted anything similar (only less graceful ), certainly any attempts to run for buses/get out of the way of speeding cars over the past few months have been fairly undignified and probably hilarious to witness. still, good for you if you can manage it

heinz - i'm watching the thread you started, thanks

waves to annie - how lovely of you to pop back. really hope everything goes well for you.

grrr at your mum crafty - how annoying!
