mrsflowerpot · 19/05/2005 16:35

oh how exciting - is this what it's going to be like from now on - you drop in on the thread and someone's in labour?? Good luck Katz, hope this is 'it' for you.

Have my consultant appointment tomorrow where (hopefully) I should find out whether I can go for a VBAC or I need another section. DH and I are supposed to have decided what we want by now, but have been a bit ostrich like about it - must talk it through tonight or it'll be a bit late.

Right, I shall leave you all to your twinges. DS has scattered tiny bits of playdough all round the house so I'd better go and hoover before the carpet is 95% playdough.

I guess Uwila has baby Alex by now! what a bizarre thought.

Tessiebear · 19/05/2005 17:05

I am fine thanks Lippy and MrsW - only 34 weeks - so quite a way to go!!!! - My placenta has moved up so i can have a natural birth.
Havnt been on much as i have been up and down emotionally about one thing and the other and havnt been able to get "into" the whole baby thing. Suppose i had better get into that frame of mind soon!!!!
I am looking forward to it - but still soooo much to do yet.

LipstickMum · 19/05/2005 17:58

Hi Tessie, it's good to see you again. Sorry to hear you've been having an emotional rollercoster Are you still disappointed about having another boy? We're all around if you need us

I know Mrs F, I just think it's hilarious that every time you log on, someone could be timing contractions

welshmum · 19/05/2005 18:02

Thinking of you Katzguk - hope it continues well.
Wonder how Uwila is........
It's all getting a bitt 'real' - makes me excited and full of trepidation too

Tessiebear · 19/05/2005 18:03

No Lippy- am totally happy with having another boy now i have just been suffering with anxiety over lots of things (they can be little or big things) and i am hoping that it is related to my pregnancy hormones and that i will feel better when i give birth.
One minute i am ok - the next i am upset and worried about things (strangely am not at all worried about anything to do with the pregnancy - this has rather taken a back seat!)

megi · 19/05/2005 18:52

Hello all!

Congrats to Cobweb - and just to say I am thinking of Uwila! - how are you getting on Katz?
I've been having Braxton Hicks off and on over the past few days - but I need more time - am not ready!!! I am sooooo excited though!

berolina · 19/05/2005 21:37

Here is Berolin, Berolina's dh , announcing the birth of our Samuel Michael Alexander at 7.20 pm on Wednesday 18 May . Mother and baby are doing fine. Berolina will post the full birth story when she gets out of hospital (probably at the weekend or Monday). She sends her best wishes to you all and congrets to Uwila

JonahB · 19/05/2005 21:38

Oooh, Katz, this is so exciting for you. Seeing as you've not logged on for 6 hours, it's looking promising. Does this mean we are getting 2 new arrivals today??

Can I ask a question? I'm a bit worried that my MW has made no attempt whatsoever to "measure" me. Everyone else, incl Junies on this thread and pgt friends seem to have a good idea of the baby's size. Should I be worried, or should I be asking?

tribpot · 19/05/2005 21:40

Hope it's all going well, Katz!

Just back from the hospital for massage class, unfortunately when the lift arrived as we were waiting, it contained one tiny baby obviously in a very poorly state on a normal-sized bed, two crying parents and a medical team Had to get out of there pronto.

On a happier note, congratulations to April, as well as Uwila. Can't believe the end is finally in sight for us all .... [and I still have nothing to pack in a hospital bag]

LipstickMum · 19/05/2005 21:45

Ooooooh Congrats to Berolina!!! God, it's all happening very quickly isn't it?

Jonah, my doctor has measured me twice or 3 times this pregnancy. Last time, I wasn't measured at all.

bubbaloo · 19/05/2005 21:47

congratulations bero on the birth of samuel!!!

cant believe how exciting it's getting on here and cant wait to read your birth anouncement

JonahB · 19/05/2005 21:55

Berolina - so sorry, I missed your announcement!!! Congratulations to you, Mr B, and baby Samuel

tribpot · 19/05/2005 23:20

Gosh another one, uwila has been pushed into third place! So glad to hear of BabyBero's safe arrival, congrats to all.

Jonah, my midwife has never measured me to try and ascertain the baby's size.

Uki · 20/05/2005 05:41

CONGRATULATIONS and

for COBWEB and BEROLINA and no doubt it should now be time to CONGRATULATE Katz.

WOW so exciting I wish my baby was early but the way it is squirmimg kicking and punching me I don't think it has engaged yet.
I'm off for a nap because I only got 5 hours last night with all the stretching and squirming.

RED great news, you must be relieved.

PINK Hope your well, i reakon when baby comes you'll be over the moon. Your doing great. I think your baby is lucky to have such a motivated and organised mother. That uni of yours needs a kick up the backside, you should contact the appropriate organisation about your case, coz i reakon there is some definate discrimination going on.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE

welshmum · 20/05/2005 07:26

How cool is that? Go to bed at night and in themorning there's another little one arrived.
WELCOME Samuel - and congrats to Mum and Dad Berolina.

Where's Mr Uwila??? Hope all's well with your family too

teabelly · 20/05/2005 08:37

Ooh logged on like you Welshie expecting to hear from Mr Uwila to discover another newbie...

Berolina (and hubbie) CONGRATULATIONS on the birth of Samuel wow it's definitely all starting to happen now.

Hope all's ok with you Katz...look forward to a possible announcement from you/Mr Katz soon!

BTW Mr Uwila has posted an announcement on the Birth Announcement boards...

Off shopping today so will try and catch up later...take care all, and no doubt when I log on tonight there'll be another one here!!

teabelly · 20/05/2005 08:40

P.S. Jonah - I haven't been measured by my mw at all, some don't do it because they say it can be unreliable due to everybodies differing heights/weight etc, so I wouldn't worry unduly - if they thought your size looked wrong they would send you for a scan...hth

LipstickMum · 20/05/2005 08:42

Morning everyone

I wonder how Katz is!!!!!

welshmum · 20/05/2005 08:47

The measuring thing is strange. I was examined by an (unimpressive) SHO yesterday who told me I was carrying a 'good size baby' I asked 'what's a good size?' she said 'average - not too big, not too small', I asked 'what's average exactly?' She couldn't tell me. Perplexing they are sometimes these doctor types.

tribpot · 20/05/2005 08:55

Welshie, your SHO seems to have read the page in the book that says "reassure the mother by saying what you think she wants to hear" but not the page that adds "and have some actual facts for her if she asks". Good god, it's not a marketing exercise, is it?!

Here's a link to Uwila's Birth Announcement , I think we'll need to do a stats update again today - already! Maybe wait til we hear in from Katz.

MrsWednesday · 20/05/2005 09:03

Oh wow!!! Another Junie - congratulations Berolina and Mr Berolina, and welcome to the world Samuel.

No sign of Katz then? Goodness, I can't cope with the excitement of it all. I feel all tearful at the thought of the baby Junies arriving. Must go and read Uwila's thread.

Glad you to see you again Scraggy, have been thinking about you and wondering how things are going. Your holiday sounds lovely.

Aprilmeadow, good to see you too, and congratulations on the birth of Jack.

Right, must go - DS needs a nappy change so he tells me (really must start potty training, he'll be able to change his own soon )

tribpot · 20/05/2005 09:07

More important than that, MrsW, can you train him to change the new baby's nappies for you?!

I wonder if all the June babies are going to arrive in May

bubbaloo · 20/05/2005 09:09

trib-i also havent been measured by my midwife.she said it's really difficult to tell how big the baby is as it all depends on how he's laying
