In honour of Christiana CS tomorrow thought I'd start a new thread as the other one getting unwieldly.
Best of luck Christiana

PS Work with DD I was completely gobsmacked by how much I lost interest in it, considering I'd been a completely over-conscientious workaholic for the previous 13 years! It was quite liberating though, and I've never quite regained my interest. Didn't see much point when I knew we'd probably be having a DC2 . Sure I'll get my work mojo back quicker this time though - will be going to work for a break in a year's time!

rubyriley · 23/06/2009 23:12

Just scanned through last couple of days messages and it seems the pace is picking up rather scarily!
justlookatthatbooty your comment about finding a sacred space where you could be hugely pregnant and utterly human is an excellent suggestion which I think we should all be doing If we all gave ourselves half an hour relaxing and enjoying just BEING, I'm sure our panic/stress levels would be much improved!
Phoenix I'm with you on the finding the heat unbearable front. Was up at the horse yard poop scooping my field at 8.45 this morning after doing the school run and really felt quite hot and unwell after filling my wheelbarrow. And it was the heat, not the manual labour as do take my time and am careful not to lift too much at a time. I know us pg ladies are renowned for suffering in hot weather but bloomin heck!!
LGOR You're getting very close aren't you, keep us informed and sending you lots of labour vibes. I think we all feel mixed emotions about our labours; sure it's absolutely natural.
xxhunnyxx Glad things are working out for you and that you feel more settled re the money aspect. Knowing that you can get by without your ex makes things a whole lot easier.I think you're a very strong person and will make a great mum.
Likeyoursleeves I used to think when I was, say, 25 +1 that I was in my 26th week (kind of just to hurry it along & maybe explain to rude folk why my bump was, in their expert opinion, rather large) but now I find myself shrinking back from my date Last week was 37 and stayed at 37, am no longer saying I'm in my 38th week. Baby feels like an enormous wriggly spider and I do know that there's a baby in there, but it's all come TOO QUICKLY Can it stay in there for another couple of months, just so I can really get used to the idea!? Also know will be sore afterwards and as I'm intact down below; it's been many years since my 2DS's and subsequent trauma (TMI alert) don't fancy the idea of stitches, bruising, haematomas (sp?)
Beccabump So sorry your landlords are forcing you out and are clearly insensitive to your pregnancy and couldn't hold off for a couple of months. On the plus side, you will cope and sure that the house you find will be PERFECT for you with your new baby xx

My belly skin gets so tight it feels like an overripe tomato skin that's going to split (has that ever happened?)and it stings to the touch. Put some body shop cocoa butter on it, which seemed to help. Oh to get my body back
Good luck everyone
xxx

X-post, huge congratulations Gillyan & Simon. Let us know what happened as your last post you were suffering from back ache and were feeling pessimistic re your CS having watched videos (crazy fool! ) That's what I did; watched a CVS on YouTube before having mine done!

Hope Gillyan & LO doing well xxxx

Patchybob · 24/06/2009 07:50

oh wow another baby. congratulations gillyan! thanks for letting us know simon.

i am having what feel like contractions now. not often enough to get excited but quite painful when they do come. should i call midwife just to run it by her. i am only 35 + 4 days and section not booked until 14th july.

Phoenix · 24/06/2009 09:30

Huge congratulations Gillyan, Thanks for letting us know Simon

Activity - I've read that it takes a whole load of pineapple (something like 8) to put you into labour. When i was having ds i was eating 1 a day towards the end and it never worked

Doesn't feel as hot today but we haven't been out yet (and i've only just got up ) I don't think we're going out at all today either so i should be ok chilling on the sofa

I washed the moses basket covers, car seat cover and baby carrier yesterday and i think that is the last of all the baby washing. Just need him here now

Huge congrats to Gillyan & Simon! Can't wait to hear the details

Still nothing happening here had midwife app on Monday just gave me date for 40 week app. I'm 37 + 5 and somehow feel better than ever! Guess this baby is nowhere near ready to come out!

Look after urselves ladies and take advantage of this last little bit of "me" time! Bring on the pedicures and facials !

dannyg · 24/06/2009 09:58

Congratulations to Gillyan & Simon on the birth of baby Summer, so exciting cant wait for picky's. Feeling sick & have bad tummy this morn not sure why but dont feel 100%. Taking car to be valeted today so should stay nice & clean for new baby. Hope everyone is well x x

Beccabump · 24/06/2009 11:04

Congratulations Simon and Gillyan wow I can't believe so many babies are here already!

Still feeling awful today, woke with a panic attack at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep. It was my first since this pregnancy and coming off my meds

Just so worried about everything right now and having to keep holding back the tears as I don't want DD to be worried.

dannyg · 24/06/2009 11:22

Beccabump hope your ok have suffered from panic attacks too so know how terrifying they can be, you have lots going on at the mo and must be feeling very stressed and anxious. Try if you can relax and de stress if you can. sending a virtual hug! x x

JetLi · 24/06/2009 11:30

Yay - another baby!! Well done Gillyan and Simon - hope all's well.
Popped Ladies - we'd love some pictures of these newborn babies when you chance
Receptionist at work reckons my bump has dropped this morning . Not entirely convinced myself but I did have a BIG dish of pineapple after tea last night. Someone at work told me a slightly different story than yours phoenix - they reckon you have to eat the core bit of the pineapple for it to have any effect? Anyway, I'm off to Lidl later as they're only 49p in there at the minute and then I'm just going whack the whole thing through the juicer - one a day.
Put the cot-bed up last night - it's bloody huge! Baby will look lost in it. But at least it will have somewhere to sleep now.
Must clean my car out at the weekend dannyg - its a disgrace at the moment.
Activity - what's the pineapple and cardamom dessert? I love both so it could be a marriage made in heaven for me!!

JetLi · 24/06/2009 11:36

Hey becca - many {{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}} for you - there's a whole army of ladies on here and if needs be, we'll all come, and have a week in Cornwall, with the babies strapped to our backs and move you ourselves if that's what it takes. Please try not to worry.

Huge congrats to Gillyan and Simon! I love the name too

ruby thanks for your kind words, you just brought a tear to my eye...altho it doesn't take much these days lol.

Well I went for my scan this morning and baby is head down so he must just have a boney bum. I was looking forward to seeing him on the scan but it turned out that I couldn't even make anything out, he's just too big now. But at least I'll get to see him for real soon .
Part of me is actually a little bit disappointed that he's not breech, it looks like I'm gonna have to have him the hard way lol.

I'm trying to get some nesting done today but it's so hard in this heat. I've just organised baby's room (it was the storing room) but I've just ended up movin things in to my bedroom so it looks like a bomb has hit now. I'd leave it till tomos but I can't relax till it's done now.

mumofshortie73 · 24/06/2009 13:36

Lovely news Gillyan & Simon !

Pretty name too

Thanks for the bf tips Christiana sounds like it's getting much easier for you & the wee 'un is getting the hang of her side of the deal too !

School sports afternoon for DD, really wanted to be there but is so darn hot, my feet are like balloons and I just want to chill for a couple of hours at home. Sure there'll be many opportunities in the future to see her run her wee socks off, as long as parental participation isn't obligatory

Am I crazy even considering going up to the Royal Highland Show on Friday with DD in this heat ?! Thought it'd be a nice start to the summer hols

bozette · 24/06/2009 14:09

More congrats Gillyan and Simon. looking forwards to hearing all about it and hope all's going well.

Glad you're doing so well Christiana sounds like you're doing really well and have it sussed!!

Still can't believe that in less than 3 weeks now i'm going to have one too!! I'm still very worried how DS is going to take it all, he'll be 22 months by then. He's my PFB and such an angel at the moment and his little world is going to change completely! I keep reminding myself that a sibling is a great thing to have but am not convinced that he'll see it that way!

sorry for double post, wireless connection isn't great in the garden and sent twice by mistake!!

krumbockmummy · 24/06/2009 14:43

Fantastic Congratulations to Gillyan and Simon on the birth of your baby. love the name cant wait to hear details.

DD is driving me mad!! Left her watching cartoons in living room to clean the kitchen up. Came bk in to our 5 litre penny bottle emptied out on the floor and i cant pick them up How the hell one 3yr old and one 27yr old male makes so much mess???

ilikeyoursleeves · 24/06/2009 16:31

Oooooo congratulations to Gillyan&Simon! what a lovely name too. Hope mum isn't too knackered yet!

I went to Ikea this morn for a few house things and some bits for baby, and I got DS a present from the baby that he'll get when he visits me in hospital (a toy jumbo jet from ELC, he is going through a pointing at planes phase so hopefully he'll love it!).

Not done much else as still sore from overdoing it yesterday. Couldn't really sleep last night either cos it was so frickin hot and I've got bad hayfever just now. What are hayfever sufferers doing for any respite just now? Can I take anything?

soozze · 24/06/2009 16:32

Wow, congratualtions Gillyan !! Lovely name

Phoenix & ilike lol glad it?s not just me ! I?ve felt bump harden but figured it's just baby moving or sticking her bum out, maybe it?s BH after all.

Becca that is crap news hope it works out better than you expect.

I'm feeling so tired today, I could happily go to bed now. Still have loads to do as well, eek! I've got to find some energy to get off the sofa.

LGOR Good luck for the induction tomorrow !

slushy06 · 24/06/2009 16:38
