It was lovely to see the bean - and looking like a real baby - but, does anyone else find it almost too freaky to contemplate that that little person you saw on the screen is actually inside you?

Biccy · 08/07/2009 22:15

Oh, and Liskey, I think it's incredible that they charge for the pictures - it's £2 per picture where I am, surely they are making a profit on that? I don't think I imagined before last time that you'd have to pay...

somewhathorrified · 09/07/2009 11:07

Thanks Sazlocks...was feeling a little thick!

Can't wait til scan now.I have to say I can't believe that I'm only 14 weeks, my bump is huge! Half expecting to be told I'm about 5 months preggers.

VivClicquot · 09/07/2009 17:07

Hello all you lovely ladies,

Am so chuffed at all this news of positive scans and healthy bumps - well done to you all.

First, thanks for all your lovely messages last week. The last seven days have been truly truly horrible, but I think DP and I are getting there. Went back for a scan today and it confirmed the baby's heart has now stopped beating, which has come as a small relief as I had been concerned about having to go through the next steps while he/she may have been clinging on. Am now booked in for an ERCP on Monday.

While I don't think we'll ever properly get over this, we're both now looking to the future and in particular the wedding, so fingers crossed I'll be popping on here with some good news soon.

Good luck over the next few weeks and months girls, and will pop in soon! x

sunshinejanuary · 09/07/2009 17:41

I am so sorry Viv, it must be really hard.

Whilst we are all congratulating those of us who have had positive scans we are not forgetting those of you who have not. Please do keep up with the thjread, i am sure we will all want to see the wedding photos!

I hope Monday goes as well as can be expected.

xx

dal21 · 09/07/2009 17:52

Viv - am so very sorry, for both you and your DP. Will be thinking of you on Monday - please look after yourself and stay in touch.
Hope the wedding is fantastic
xx

sleepingalot · 09/07/2009 19:47

Viv my heart goes out to you, I really hope Monday goes smoothly as it possibly can. Will be thinking of you. x

sleepingalot · 09/07/2009 19:58

Had my first antenatal appointment today and saw about 5 different people... had to go from one place to another etc and was there for over 2 hours! BUT I did have a scan so was very happy (didn't think they'd give me one)and saw a much bigger wriggly baby than last time, 72mm now.

Biccy I totally agree. It's bizzare to think that the baby is actually inside me, looking at the picture...still can't quite believe I'm pregnant.

bethoo · 09/07/2009 21:05

Viv - i know that you never really get over a mc, you just have to learn to accept it. take care xx

bethoo · 09/07/2009 21:08

i had tha d&v bug last night so had day off as not slept well considering up all night either on toilet or throwing up in the sink!

i look at my pics and the baby looks so clear and you can see everything (apart from the parts!!!) and i find it hard ot believe it is in there esp as i feel ok, well non pregnant since sickness wearing off apart from the vomiting bug i am getting over!

sazlocks · 10/07/2009 05:44

viv/katy sorry to hear and thinking of you. I know there is lots of support on the miscarriage boards here. One thing some of my friends have found helpful is finding some way of commemorating their loss together - ie by planting a tree or a rose bush etc something to help them mark their loss.
Hope the wedding goes well.

sazlocks · 10/07/2009 05:50

Morning everyone else - don't even ask what I am doing up at this hour !
I have a hideous meeting first thing morning which is playing on my mind.
I went out last night with the NCT girls - 3 of us are pregnant with one due imminenently. What is it about second timers that get together who feel the need (me included !) to talk about the hilarious time in labour when ............. and when.............. etc Was very funny though but made me glad it was a while off yet.

I am starting to feel much better now - much more energy and less sickness. I will be 12 weeks on Sat but of course there is a tiny part of me that is worried about the reduction in symptoms. Please someone who is further on than me reassure me that its normal !
Have a good day

bethoo · 10/07/2009 07:33

sazlock tis normal to have sickness and tiredness subside, this is the best trimester as you get all your energy back etc. i feel good though occasionally i get mild bouts of nausea!

dal21 · 10/07/2009 07:43

Morning all

Sleepingalot - glad you got to see your little bean!

Bethoo - hope you are feeling better after your illness, probably the last thing you needed!

Sazlocks - second what bethoo said, from 12-14 weeks for most women the first trimester symptoms should start to fade as the placenta begins to takeover.

Hope everyone has good days planned. I am heading out - trying to stop obsessively counting down the hours til my scan on Monday morning.

OP posts:
liny · 10/07/2009 09:52

hello,

Yes I can confirm from 12 weeks onward my nausea had stopped. It was not that bad but it was still nice to wake up and feel "nearly normal". My breast is also far less sensitive.
14 weeks and 5 days for me, I still get quite tired and I have been napping everyday.... My main issue now is digestion, can not eat too much on the evening or I'm paying for it ;-)) same thing if I have late nights , I'm struggling the next 2 days...
Also I do have tummy pain on the evening, which are more ligament stretching related I think...;-) otherwise ok!
So don't worry sazlocks, get ready for the next stage!
This is my first and I can not wait to feel the baby !

sockmonkey · 10/07/2009 10:12

Do you mind if I join? I know I'm a bit late, but I've been holding off till I went for my scan. DH insisted it was "just pies" LOL. But it was a wriggly little bean.

I have a DS who is just 6 and a DS who will be 4 next month.

I am due on 24th...ish. Last two were both late so I'm betting it'll be february before this one arrives.

bethoo · 10/07/2009 10:51

hello sockmonkey and hope that your pregnancy has gone well so far

i am happy to say that i am almost back to normal now, thank goodness! nothing worse than throwing up in my opinion! yuck.

Liny you will be waiting a long time to feel baby move as this is your first and your tummy muscles are nice and tight. i think it will be at around 26 weeks correct me if i am wrong . when you have your second you will feel it earlier.

has anyone started using their Pilates DVD yet and what do you think? i think my arms are already looking toned!

sockmonkey · 10/07/2009 11:51

Liny - With DS1 I first felt him move at about 21 weeks. It was when I was in the bath IIRC. I think he liked the feel of warm water

I am properly looking forward to the manky taste in my mouth going... I hope it's not going to last much longer. I thought I'd found a stretch mark yesterday but it was just where my belt had been digging in

crumpette · 10/07/2009 12:36

liny I felt DD move at 16 weeks in the shower, with hot water on, I don't think she liked it. Hmm she never did like baths actually..

Have already felt this one moving around, obviously my abdominal muscles are pathetic!!

Glad more people have had healthy little people on screens.

katy, I am so sorry to hear of what has been happening for you, but perhaps it is best that your little angel went on their own and no intervention was required. You gave him/her the best chance that you could, I know that that will be of little comfort but at least you did not have to make any decisions or take any action before now.
Please let us know how your wedding goes, you are still jan 2010 member! We want the pics!! Best of luck x

kittykat765 · 10/07/2009 12:56

My abdominal muscles must be non existant I think. With my DS I felt him move for the first time at 15 weeks 6 days (I log things like this in my yearly diary). This time I am sure I have felt baby move several times already which is surprising because baby should have plenty of room to spread out without hitting anything .

Thank you for updating us with how things are going with you Katy. I agree you are still a January 2010 member and so we have to at least see pictures of you on the day. I am sure you will look absolutely wonderful and have a fantastic day. And when you feel ready to try again, I hope that you will have a better experience in your next pregnancy. All the best Katherine.

alibobins · 10/07/2009 15:29

Took a while for me to catch up
Sorry to here more bad news on this thread
