morning all, how is everyone today? where is everyone today? it's beautiful here but i've no plans to go out this morning, having a lazy one watching girls out in back yard playing whilst baby sleeps on my lap.

we are going out this pm for a tea time picnic but this means I have to get organised and get the sandwiches, drinks together as well as make sure I've got all 3 children (always seem to forget one of them).

sophietom, don't be too impressed: i made a quick batch of chewy flapjacks which only took 15 min and I burnt them. no matter, I chopped off the burnt bit and they're as good as new.

I seem to be eating more now that I'm not pregnant. i know bf is giving me an appetite but i'm eating loads more than i should - biscuits, ice cream, flapjacks, lots of sugar. and, to top it off, DH got back from London yesterday with a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts! prob is, they don't keep for long so I feel pressurised to eat them within a couple of days (i will as well . though my stomach has reduced, it still is a bulgy beer gut-type and very wobbly. all this sugar isn't helping but i can't seem to crave healthy food.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 29/05/2009 14:33

MW been, S&S done, nothing doing. Cervix high but soft. Baby still bobbing about with no intention of hunkering down into my pelvis. I think it may have turned back to back too .

Reluctantly agreed to induction date of next Wed, but can cancel and go for daily monitoring. I am pretty fed up though. S&S was uncomfortable and feel bit crampy but not holding out any hope for soonish baby. Still, should have my baby by next Friday

I've just shuffled to the park and back with DD2 and pushed her on the swings to see if that gets things going. And I've asked DH to give me another 'S&S' later

Oohhhh Grumpy you poor thing... lets hope the (nudge nudge wink wink) DH s&s will get things going...

Loved the poo chat. I can raise Grumpy's and Blotted's Anusol and Germaloids and can add in Lactulose and Glycerin suppositories. I have piles the size of... erm... dunno... big grapes. They are mahoosive. And yesterday (and still a bit today but its better) I was SO constipated, I couldn't sit to feed Martha. I had many a Grumpy moment in the loo - flashing lights, sweating.. had to take all my clothes off... owowowoww. Even had milk dripping onto my legs! I really did feel I was giving birth again. The lactulose made my tummy gurgle all night long, I thought I was going to accidentally poo overflow into the bed . Uuugh. When I eventually DID go (the size of a 50p piece) dp said it smelt like camp site poo. Charming.

Ahem. Anyway, this thread has really slowed down now. Has everyone gone onto the post natal thread now? I haven't been on there yet - too scared - I might come across something I should be doing and feel like a bad mummy because I'm not or something equally rubbish. Don't know where to look, either. Feel I ought to post the birth story thing, but it was so bloody awful, I don't want to scare the remaining 'due in May'ers. MW is coming round any minute, having photocopied my hospital notes to discuss my labour with me. Can't believe they have catalogued 42 hours of hell...

Still. We came home on Monday after being in since the Wednesday 20th... and we've just been out for our first expedition in the shiny new pram in the park. Dp marched ahead, proud as punch, whilst I trudged and shuffled 10 paces behind like an old lady. Have had to have a lie down and a cup of tea on my return. Sigh.

Big congrats to those who have given birth... sorry not to name, but my mind is now like mush. I can't even remember what I had for dinner last night, or what day it is.

As for pics, I'll post some on the facebook thingy later when I work out how...

Chin up Grumpy, Reebee and others... shan't be long now....

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 29/05/2009 16:38

Aw sausage you poor thing. I'd forgotten that I had to strip off all my clothes for the dump from hell too. Campsite poo what a lovely comment.

I think there are very few of us left on here now, just us stubborn mules . It does feel a bit lonely. I peeked on the Postnatal thread, but didn't have any words of wisdom to add.

I'm sorry to hear you had a hellish labour, you won't frighten me with any details - I desperately don't want an induction - DD2 was inducted and that was pretty awful. But weighed up against days and days and days of being pg still.........

I ADORE the name Martha by the way. I hope you feel a bit better soon, please do keep popping in to say hello, I feel very alone chocbunnies is having a rubbish time of it too, she's booked for induction on Monday and is quite scared

sausagenmash · 29/05/2009 16:48

Mooooooooooooo

I moo'ed for England. I think I did that when I was swishing around in the pool gasping on gas and air for dear life, whilst demanding an epidural. ("But its not in your birth plan" "I don't CARE I want one NOW. PLEASE. This is AGONY." "But you're doing so well" "No I'm bloody not" You can imagine the rest. )Couldn't be arsed to get dressed after that, so paraded around starkers, much to the disgust of my Mum (yep, she was there too, though that wasn't planned). Ok. I'll do my birth story thing and put it up here later. Won't go post natal just yet, don't worry. Feels nice and safe here

Thanks Grumpy re Martha's name. I can't get used to calling her that yet, though. Seems a bit weird. Oops she's awake..... bugger.....

runningmonkey · 29/05/2009 17:47

Hi sausage not sure if I've even said congrats properly yet so congrats! I don't think any birth story can be as eye watering as the poo ones so post away!

Yes it has gone quiet, think there's only a handful of us left now

I've just been out and pruned the lavender bushes out the front of the house in an effort to get things moving has been bugging me for weeks. Two blokes walked past one of them winked and said 'nice bush' to me... at least if I can draw a saucy comment out of two lechy blokes at 9months pregnant, I musn't look too bad eh

Going to get DH to take me out for curry tonight as am fed up of being in the house and there's nowhere I can really walk to in my current state.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 29/05/2009 18:33

The pathetic old moo comment was aimed at me BTW, not chocbunnies!!

Hi running, you saucepot . I just get looks of utter pity . We're having takeaway tonight - cannot be bothered to cook, not going out anywhere. I am covered in hives/heatrash. Nice.

Having looked at my notes (both DDs were at home when MW called and they were both feeling very chatty), I appear to be 2cm dilated and 'soft' but 'post' I think, so maybe not totally hopeless.

My earlier post was really self-pitying and pathetic. I do apologise.

saus Not in your birth plan. So fecking what? That really irritates me - the birth plan is written when you're wallowing on the sofa with tea and biscuits, being in labour is a teensy bit different . lol at your mum though, my mum is not being there, she has been banned from all of them, she'd drive me bonkers. I've even banned he from coming up to see me Mon/Tues next week, I'm waaaaay to irritable to cope with her fretting.

It does take a while to get used to calling your baby by their name.

Right, back out to cower in the shade and drink a (very small) thimble of cider.

I'm still aiming to pop in here to see how you're all doing.. but finding bf dd exhausting as she's up constantly feeding from 8 or 10pm till well last night it was 1.30am then back for other feeds and up with ds at 7am. so basically I have to go to bed now to stand a chance of coping.. I am reading all your news and really hope things get going for you all when you need it to. might make it back on later..

night night xoxox

Blottedcopybook · 30/05/2009 07:57

You lot do make me giggle ;)

Good luck for induction if it comes to that Grumpy and Chocbunnies!

FiKelly · 30/05/2009 07:59

morning

our big news is we've decided dd's name.. it's taken us just over a week and some trailing through baby names etc only to come back to our original favourite! lol

so dd is now Grace.. & yes that will make her Grace Kelly lol but who cares

I must upload some photos to fb later and catch up with everyone else's photos.. something my phone doesn't do terribly well..

will post this on post natal thread too.

Tummum · 30/05/2009 08:49

Hello eveyone. Just popping on to say hello. It has gone v. quiet but the pn thread is quiet too...

Have a lovely day everyone.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 30/05/2009 09:08

Well my pelvis has officially had it. I got stuck last night and this morning. I couldn't get out of bed, I couldn't move and had to be hoisted out by DH. The agony as my pelvis ground together and clicked was indescribable. I am now barely able to walk and, of course, have a busy day ahead of me . I can feel myself wavering more and more towards the hated induction, just to try and get my pelvis back to normal (I was lucky after DD2 that the pain disappeared very rapidly).

Just a quick post, as DD2 is hassling me to either take her on the trampoline (no chance mate) or let her play on CBeebies on the 'oncuter'.

I've got over myself now and can cope with the fact that there are very few antenatal personages left.

Fi Grace is a gorgeous, gorgeous name. It's one of my favourite girls' names. And Grace Kelly, the epitome of cool, elegant chic? Rear Window is one of my favourite films!!!

Hope you postnatal ladies get out in the sunshine with your babies today and get them shown off to everyone . I will be showing off my scarlet, heatrashed legs and cankles via the medium of flip flops and sweaty bump. How lovely!!

By the by, I'm betting £20 on me being the last to have my baby. Any takers?

Grumpy there is one good thing about you still being pregnant - we can be entertained by your humorous posts!!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 30/05/2009 12:55

Ijust texted chocbunnies to see how she's doing, she's been mowing her lawn . I'm 'twingey' today, have been shoe shopping with DD2 to get things going. May join the girls on the trampoline momentarily .

The horror of my pelvis has been assuaged by a caramel custard doughnut. One excellent thing about still being pg is being able to stuff my fat face with impunity. And I got to say 'oh, 10 days overdue' in casual, offhand manner to terrified looking shop assistant this morning. Then I went 'oof' and put a hand to my back for further comedic value. It was brilliant!

spangle and saus I didn't even go to antenatal classes before DD1, so I really did make it up as I went along. She was a blissful baby though. Pity she's grown up really

Factor 50 sunblock applied, sunglasses located, non-alcoholic drink poured. The garden awaits.

MsG · 30/05/2009 13:37

Grumpy, sorry to hear you are in such pain - horrid!!

I'm fed up. Had to go and get monitored the other day as my BP was high. When we got to the hospital, that was fine but they found protein and blood in my urine so have sent that off for testing and taken blood. Then they scanned me and they're concerned that there isn't as much fluid as there should be, so I have to go back for the same tests on Monday and see a consultant. It's made me paranoid about movements though as they said if I notice it moving less to call them.

Anyway, it looks as though they might well want to induce me, which I'd rather not happen but if it's for the best then hey ho.

Hope everyone else is ok.

Belgianchocolates · 30/05/2009 14:24

Hi everyone,

Just a quick one. The neighbour came along to steal ds and dd1 for a play in their paddling pool + waterslide so I'm home alone and C is asleep. Bliss after a horrible lunch with a screaming baby in my arms

sausagen come over to the p/n thread. We're all doing our own thing and no one has been attacked/critisised yet for something they've done or not done. We're all just doing what we can to get through these 1st few difficult, sleep deprived weeks. In my case that means bed sharing, baby wearing, non-stop baby cuddling and occasionally leaving baby to cry because I can't hold her and ds/dd1/dinner or something similar is more important at that moment.

grumpy Hope something happens for you soon. I can sympathise with having a non co-operative pelvis. It does get better however. I even mowed the lawn this week

Right, off to the p/n thread and then back into the sunshine to enjoy the peace and quiet now I've got some

Febes · 30/05/2009 14:48

Hi everyone. I haven't been on here in a few weeks as I felt I could only commit to keeping up with one thread oh what an exciting life I lead. Had a quick lookie at last few post and I see that Grumpy is still here and choc. Good luck girls as a 9 days late lass myself you have my sympathies.
Not much news here apart from Rueben is growing by the minute and is a right guzler of milk. He put on over 500gms in the first 10 days. It must be full fat milk in my massive boobs. I just bought a kari-me wrap and have done my first hands free feed whilst walking aroud the garden . He looked a bit squished in there so might have to seek advice on that. My sister just had her 12 week scan and is expecting identical twins so we are all sooo excited about that.

See you all over on the PN thread soon.

runningmonkey · 30/05/2009 15:31

FiKelly · 30/05/2009 16:04

well just back from our first family of 4 day out.. not anywhere you'd think on a glorious sunny day like today. I had to go to the out of hours dentist in bristol as i have an absess. had a tooth ache yesterday but not for long. my face started to swell up last night and this am was worse

so now half of my face is all puffed up and weird looking!

Febes · 30/05/2009 16:39

FI oh no absesses are so painful. Do you need antibiotics??? make sure they give you one that you can BF with.

FiKelly · 30/05/2009 17:31

febes yes they've given me bf friendly anti biotics and luckily I think my cs pain killers covered the pain.
