Jealous of you people with painted toenails - I was going to have a pedicure last week but didn't get round to it and now wish I had, my feet aren't terrible but they could look better.

tummum - no advice, but wanted to reassure you that you'll be fine. Can you call in favours from friends/relatives nearby?

Belgianchocolates · 09/05/2009 22:03

As for coping with 3 dcs I'm keeping in mind the best advise I've ever had from my hv when ds was born. It was 2 pieces of advise really: no one has died of a bit of dust and an untidy house. Give yourself only 1 job a day to do, that way you wont feel like a failure. I still live by that and it's true. If my mum mentions the fact that my house is a little messy the 1st bit is my standard reply nowadays. All I remember from when I was little was my mum cleaning, my dcs will remember me playing with them too

Belgianchocolates · 09/05/2009 22:05

Gosh, detsy, I read 3 pineapples, you've read 8! That's even more impossible. My SIL in belgium keeps going on about the pineapple hearts or something being the bit that you need to eat.

Febes · 09/05/2009 22:06

Imagine the heartburn after eating 3 whole pineapples!!!

Have a pj day on Monday Tummum and Momino

Momino · 09/05/2009 22:07

belgian, thanks for that advice about cleaning. I'll remember that about DCs remembering me playing with them instead of cleaning. that's lovely.

Febes, a PJ day sounds wonderful. I may have one tomorrow as well!

Febes · 09/05/2009 22:09

I think we might have a PJ day tomorrow too

Belgianchocolates · 09/05/2009 22:11

I think I'm going to bed now. I'm going to try and convince dh to try the sex method 1 more time. It's been 2 days, so maybe things are a bit more ready down there . He's saying I should have grabbed my chance in the morning when he offered, but I can't move that early in the morning because my pelvis is v. stiff and sore after lying down all night. If only I could fit in sexy underwear then tempting him would be really easy

flippineck · 09/05/2009 22:12

PJ day sounds good!

I'm off to bed now, my (very) early start is catching up with me and I'm dreading it happening again tomorrow morning. Night all!

PS Wonder if there'll be any more news in the morning?!

Momino · 09/05/2009 22:13

Ladies,I'm going to bed now. DD1&2 are at inlaws with DH tonight so house is quiet. i know i should have put her in her basket but have Harper in my arms asleep as she looks so peaceful and sweet. i also know that this newborn, cuddly phase is soon going to pass.

oh, gotta go - i've just seen a new sainsbury's advert (no words, piano music), very sentimental I could cry. Now i know i've lost it.

Blottedcopybook · 09/05/2009 22:14

I am lying in bed on a towel because I have evening primrose oil oozing from my fanjo.

I'm not even going to tell you how awkward it was getting six effing capsules up there in the first place.

Nothing's happening. At least if I try and mount hubby tonight there won't be any lubrication issues

minimenace · 09/05/2009 22:15

hey Lets have an official May thread PJ day tomorrow.
Actually I already had one today ... oops

ladyhelenatealltheeggs · 09/05/2009 22:19

Congrats and well done to ses and daizy.

COme on the rest of you due.....

Reggiee thanks for your comments, and sorry you have having a rough time of it too. You must not feel guilty about not being able to BF. Your experience with your DD sounds the same as mine with DS1 too. I shouldn't have been surprised it happened again with Rufus. You have done your best with your new one and it is not your fault it didn't work. I hope you feel better soon. Please don't beat yourself up anymore about it.

Its bloody hard work all the pumping and cup feeding even though most of the "work" is being sat on your arse, with a pump in your hand. I am utterly drained after the last two days. Even though I put all this work in, I am still unsure how long to perservere as I think we'll be topping up for a while.

Anyway, enough whining already!

On the upside, have seen my brother and he has met his new nephew but hes off to South Africa tomorrow. i think I'll get to see him again in between SA and his return to Canada but I imagine that will involve me blubbing a lot!

momimo sounds like you had a great time with your sister.

jael hope you are feeling better now. Don't forget you have the rest of you life to get to know Jacob. He won't mind you just getting yourself sorted for these first weeks so he can have a healthy and happy mummy.

There has been so much to catch up on, am sorry can't name check everyone. Right, off to pump again. Its a glamourous game this mummy lark.

Tummum · 09/05/2009 22:25

OMG Blotted - ROFL - I'm not sure if that is worse than custard or not !!

I'm liking the PJ day idea on Monday... not sure the school run Mums will appreciate my lovely nursing nightdress though!! Thanks for the reassurance and advice. I remember feeling panicked when left looking after 2 DC last time and I managed OK so I can do it again.

Right, I'm off to wake up G to give him a top up before I scoot to bed as my norks are tingling so he must be due a feed !!. Night all.

FiKelly · 09/05/2009 22:31

yay
ses congratulations on owen
daisy glad I can now congratulate you here too on jasper
been watching a film with dh tonight.. before going to bed i just wanted to check if there were any more arrivals worn out as we've been moving ds back into his now smaller but fabulous room. hope he sleeps ok back in there .. wait and see tomorrow am.

rosielady · 09/05/2009 23:00

Ses Congratulations on arrival of Owen - love the name.
Daizy Congrats on baby Jasper too! Jasper is a lovely name as well.

Oh what are we going to do if we have a boy?? We can't settle on a name - got one if it's a girl - so it must be a boy coming then eh? sods law and all that.

Tumm I am sure you will cope really well - baby steps - I liked the advice Belgian gave - must remember to play more with DS and little one when it comes.

Blottedcopybook · 10/05/2009 02:15

Daizy Congrats on baby Jasper! and Ses congrats to you on baby Owen! How lovely

Well... I'm going to go with a massively TMI post and tell you lovely ladies that I'm currently sat on the loo with the worst bowel movement of my life. I'm contracting around it too so DH is getting the babies ready so we can go get me checked out. Again.

Momino · 10/05/2009 05:29

blotted, sounds like things are happening! hope this is true and you come back with a baby. lol at your primrose post.

ladyhelen, sorry you're having a tough time with feeding. well done for persevering - it does sound like hard work. I do think the toughest part is feeling pressurised to carry on even when it's so tough. hope things get better. About your brother, I know what you mean on the blubbing side! hope you get a chance to see him again on his way back.

I'm going to stay in my pj's as long as poss today. girls, DH and dog will be home in the afternoon so don't have to follow any schedule for them this morning. it's nice to have the house quiet and all to myself and Harper but I need the others around as it's too quiet and i'm too hormonal!

anyway, just sat here with Harper in my lap looking angelic after a short feed (guess she just needed a snack?). I should put her back in the basket and go back to sleep but she looks so content, angelic, delicious, i could eat her up! i think i'm just going to stare at her for awhile. she's not going to be this age ever again. uh oh, here come the hormonal tears again .

Happy Mother's Day! it's the US and Belgian one so I think we should celebrate as well. hope everyone has a good day.

Hi everyone. I'm in hospital since Friday, because of high uric acid levels in my blood. I fought off cortisone injections until today because I'm only 37 weeks, but uric acid is not coming down so will probably have to have the injections to mature baby's lungs today and have baby in two days, a day before 38 weeks. Which should be ok. I hope.

Internet access is very erratic so not sure if I can come back, but please send good vibes my way.

Momino · 10/05/2009 06:35

hi cote, sorry about you uric acid level, hope they're taking good care of you and you're not bored in hosp. sending positive vibes your way. best wishes!

pulapula · 10/05/2009 07:37

Cote- I am sure it will all be OK- i am having a cs on Tues when i'll be 38+1 so very similar to you and i'm feeling very positive about it now, after being a bit anxious at first due to being 38 weeks. I'm sure this baby is a good size (and i think yours has been measuring big too) as it kicks me right round my side, and if you've had drugs to mature their lungs, then that is good too.

blotted- sounds very promising- i will await some news- sounds like the evening primrose did the trick!

flippineck · 10/05/2009 08:02

Morning all! Much better night for me last night, was awake loads but it was for lots of short periods of time rather than just at stupid o'clock and staying awake. Still feeli like shit this morning though. DH is still asleep, and didn't even offer to get up with DD this morning. And to make it worse, DD (who is going through an instruction issuing phase!) said to him: 'Daddy, you stay asleep'! , but also laughing a bit I suppose.

momino - your posts about just looking at H made me grin, and well up bit! KNow exactly what you mean. Isn't it incredible - both how lovley she is, and what you've done!

cote - sorry to hear that you are in hospital, hope you don't feel ill and that it's not too boring. Sending lovely positive vibes for you and the new arrival.

blotted - this must be it!!!!

Right then, evening primrose capsules - you just get a load of the standard ones and stuff 'em up your wotsit? Flippineck adds another thing to her list of things to try...

rosielady · 10/05/2009 08:03

Cote Pula - wishing you both well on early baby arrivals - Cote are you getting a c-section I presume as well?

Just think only two more days until you meet the baby! It's exciting. Giving you both big hugs

Emmab I was thinking of popping across to see you for a coffee with DS on Monday morning (DS has pre pre school nursery for 2 hrs in pm) - would that be okay?

Unfortunately I have to wait for a parcel to come on Tuesday and it could be anytime - I was sitting on the loo yesterday and the seat broke! Great for your self -fat arse - esteem! Anyway it turns out it wasn't any old plastic loo seat - it was a B&Q - only available to order at £59 - plus £5 delivery- thanks very much!! So had to just go ahead and order it. Oh- and our microwave died on Friday as well so we need to get a new one of those too! After my spending spree during the week I am kind of not happy to spend on this stuff too - but oh well!

emmabemmasmom · 10/05/2009 08:25

Congrats daizy and ses !!!!!!!!
Oh more babies! So fun Can't wait to hear stories and see pictures once you both rest up a bit!

cote good luck! Sounds like you are in good hands. Just think you will be holding your little bundle soon Hang in there!

blotted oh yeah! Hope this is it for your sake! Can't wait to find out

Rosie Ohhh crap! Lol My DH took tomorrow off to spend some time with me and DD before we are 4. I will be around all day Tuesday so if your parcel comes you can always text and do a last min visit However, if another day is better than I should more than likely be around!

Momino · 10/05/2009 08:31

should i shower today? if so, i need to do now before rest of family gets home. trouble is, i can't be bothered to get out of this bed - I've only got up to make some fresh coffee and grab a few cereal bars.

does PJ day mean no shower? don't worry, i would still apply deoderant .
