Hi everyone

I'm sorry to say I am still here with child in my belly, only 8days late. I've had shows, tightenings, mild contractions and a sweep but still no baby. We are booked in to be induced on thursday if nothing happens...... Please happen before then

minimenace · 09/05/2009 20:41

Yay Ses Congratulations, fantastic news, lovely name. hope you aren't feeling too sore and they let you up and about very soon.
arrival No 2 for the weekend ... woohoo I'm so excited now !1

Momino you are right about the name tastes here of course !!

Bantam fingers crossed it all happens for you soon and hopefully before thursday. Don't forget to check out the full moon tonight you never know

flippineck · 09/05/2009 20:44

daizy and ses - huge congratulations to you both! Has the boy/girl balance tipped again? Lovely names both.

bantam - all those signs, something must happen before thursday, surely?

I'm still here too. Went to this children's party at an open farm today, included was a ride on a tractor-trailor thing - very bumpy so hoping it would set something off but nope. Still got (v mild) period pain, that must mean something, right? Probably just means drink more water.

minimenace · 09/05/2009 20:46

My DH has currently shut himself in the garage and is building something, I can hear sawing, drilling, hammering and other electric tool noises.
Goodness knows what it is he is making but obviously it his version of nesting.

flippineck · 09/05/2009 20:51

minim - I get v nervous when DH does that kind of thing!

Febes · 09/05/2009 20:57

Ses What lovely news!! Glad they delivered him so early today for you. Hope you are able to rest and have lots of lovely cuddles with Owen.

minimenace · 09/05/2009 20:59

flippineck I'm just leaving him to it - so long as he doesn't do himself any damage. I'm not spending an hour or so in A&E with him this time though.
When I was 32 weeks with DS, DH fell down some steps at work and I had to pick him up and take him to A&E he fractured his foot in 4 places and was in plaster for the next 4 weeks.

for the moment I'm glad he is out of my way and I have the computer to myself

Thanks for doing the list Pula I see you have added Clove too you are very effecient

Febes · 09/05/2009 20:59

5 of us over our dates now nearly 6 Jennster. Come on babies

Belgianchocolates · 09/05/2009 21:18

congrats daizydoo Lol at your DH, mine wouldn't update f/b or mn, so at least your dh was willing to update something. Sounds like it was a lovely speedy delivery too. Can't wait to hear to full story

Another congrats to ses. It's nice to hear they got a move on with the C/S rather than hanging on and on. Now the ordeal is finally over and you get to hold your baby

More boys than girls at the moment. Time for another baby girl now.

I'm also hoping that the sharp pains in my pelvis are baby burrowing down, getting into position for the big day, minim. You're right btw about your coccyx. In a female pelvis the coccyx is flexible and moves out of the way for baby's head, which is exactly one of the reasons that lying on your back is one of the worst positions to give birth in, because your coccyx can't move and there's less space.

lol at the DIY'ing dh's. Mine's always working around the house, but never locks himself up for it though . There are lots of half finished jobs all over the house, even though he claims he never leaves things half finished and gets really insulted when I tell him otherwise

chocolatebunnies · 09/05/2009 21:27

Congrats to ses and daizy

detsy · 09/05/2009 21:35

Febes and flippin - yup still here too. Nails all painted so ready to go but LO obv quite comfy!! Had 2 clary sages baths today and been pressing a magical pressure point on leg hmmm, yeah - nada

choc i got mine from thatcuteage.com - really good selection. The be prepared is HUGE and pretty heavy tho, I was quite shocked at the size of it!!

Tummum · 09/05/2009 21:35

Wow, wow ! Congratulations Daizydoo and Ses hope that you are having lovely snuggle cuddles with your LOs.

Huge (((hugs))) to everyone over their dates. It's crap being overdue. Come on out babies!

Well, I am feeling hormonal today. I am really panicking about DH going back to work on Monday as he works away so I will have to manage all 3 DC. DD2 is acting up quite a lot now, so have that to deal with too. G is sooo not in a routine yet; feeding is all a bit random which is not helping. I am also getting stressed about not getting enough sleep although G is doing really well at sleeping - so my fears are stupidly irrational. I think it's just hormones (it must be 'cos I cried while watching the last ER on sky+ tonight!) and a bit of anxiety about how I will cope. Why am I worrying - what's the worst that will happen??!

Febes · 09/05/2009 21:43

Tummum honey of course G isn't in routine!! I'm sure you are doing really well and remember not to expect to get anything done. Think about meals for monday and then just do what ever you can to get through the day. I'm sure after the first few days things will fall into place. As long as DCs are feed and safe don't worry.

detsy · 09/05/2009 21:44

Congrats to Daizy and ses - super quick daisy - well done!! Ses hope you are ok and not too sore

More jelly here but sod all else - bookd in for sweep no 2 this tuesday - so much for not making it thru till end of LAST week.... Still I read somewhere that 85% of littles arrive late so we should be patient really

Hoping for a super fast labour like Daizy - maybe I'll just keep dilating slowly and unnoticeably and Pip will pop out without me even noticing....

The crowning blasphemies made me smile - I think mine was Holy Mother of F*ck..... terribly sorry....

Febes · 09/05/2009 21:45

Says me mum to one
DH is now painting my toes Detsy.

Belgianchocolates · 09/05/2009 21:48

Tum I've decided that 1st time I'm on my own with the 3 while dh is away we'll live of pizza and ready meals! Because, I don't expect this lo to be in any sort of routine yet by then. I completely understand how worried you are, so sending you lots of {{hugs}}. You'll manage somehow though, us mums always do

detsy welcome to the overdue club I'm starting to give up on all the teas, oils, sex,... It's not doing anything this time around

detsy · 09/05/2009 21:50

Just had a v hot curry, and bouncing on ball now. Had pineapple earlier - now big question, its the bromelain in pineapple that supposedly does something and you have to eat a barrowload to have any effect. BUT you can buy bromelain - I used to take it as a supplement as I noticed its v good for cellulite..... SO....why don't we just get a whole load of those pills instead????

Anybody know...off to google it more...

Belgianchocolates · 09/05/2009 21:54

All I ever said when my dcs were crowning was 'ouch'. I don't swear

The last few days every time I need a no2 I'm hoping that it's been a quiet labour and the baby will pop out instead, but no such luck . I think I'm heading for one of those non-quiet labours again. Unfortunately I'm actually getting less b/h at the mo than last week. No further show either, just more hmmm... secretions

I read that about the 85% too. That's made me think that the due dates they give us aren't right really, they should be moved so it's 50% before and after.

detsy · 09/05/2009 21:57

Bromelain (and the Pineapple myth!)
This is the enzyme found in pineapples and has given rise to a popular urban myth that pineapples help to induce labour ? they don?t! it is possible, in theory, that consuming large amounts (by large think 8 whole pineapples or more consumed in one sitting!) can stimulate the OS (entrance to the cervix) to thin and then dialate causing labour to start. Fresh pineapples (note that once they are canned or juiced the enzyme is depleted) contain the enzyme bromelain. Bromelain is an anti-inflammatory agent and it is believed that by taking it in the last few weeks of pregnancy (in capsule form) it helps the cervix to soften and dilate more easily.

Momino · 09/05/2009 21:58

Tummum, i had my sis last week and DH is off this week. i want to convince him to take 2 weeks though as I'm so anxious as well as to how i'm going to manage 3. dd1 is 3 and 4mos but still needs help on potty, getting dressed (though getting better). worse both she and dd2 (20 mos) are trantrumming lately and competing for attention. and of course, like G, Harper isn't in aroutine yet.

Febes and Belgian are right: we'll fall into a routine and manage. i'm also going to follow the freezer food route. what i will have a prob with will be the messy house and lack of organisation. but i'm going to have to just realise the next few years will slightly chaotic.

OP posts:
Belgianchocolates · 09/05/2009 21:58

I've read it's got to be fresh pineapple and you need to eat at least 3 whole ones to get enough bromelain into your system. There's no way I can eat that much pineapple in 1 sitting, so I have't. I didn't know about the bromelain excisting in pill form though, that might be a thought...

I haven't sat on the sofa or a chair (except for meal times) for days now, mainly because it's the only place I can sit because of those horrible pains I've been getting and also because I'm hoping it might get me into labour, but nothing nothing nothing...
