Fi Border Collie and only 2 so still very silly. And my God, she LOVES cheese - she has tried to snatch Cheesestrings out of DD2's hand before (although DD2 was tormenting her with it at the time ).

Minimenace go girl! Zen labour thoughts winging your way ommmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Belgian Chin up chick. It is hard.

Momi I'm super-curious to see how the dog deals with the baby. I hope Harper doesn't have Colic - DD1 had it quite badly poor little thing.

All ladies who've popped their sprogs (nice expression Grumpy ), in particular those on DC2 or 3, how have the after-pains been I'm a little bit frightened, I've read they get worse with each one and they were AWFUL with DD2, they made me wince and cry every time for what felt like weeks.

Oh, God, what have I done? Why am I having a 3rd?

Oh goodie the Apprentice with all the numpties rebranding Margate, should be fun!

FiKelly · 13/05/2009 21:20

mini good luck & hope it's not a false alarm..

detsy · 13/05/2009 21:48

Yeah febes i agree!!!!!
Good luck tho mini even if you have only been with me and febes for the day...

febes race ya hun, race ya

detsy · 13/05/2009 21:54

momi i saw harpers pics today - she's a real beauty xx

Spangle come anytime silly tho I need a bit of hoovering notice

Lotti here on Friday, I've got hosp app at 10am so should be back by lunch, free at the weekend as well - all things being equal!! Would love to see you guys and apols I've been pathetic at getting over to see you. Think i've got slow labour going on AGAIN so hopefully once it starts it will be WHIZZY!!!

detsy · 13/05/2009 21:55

God why are the people on the apprentice so bloody useless?????

flippineck · 13/05/2009 21:59

Evening all! Once again no time for name checking everyone, you lot talk so much!

All ok here, DD2 seems to be settling down a bit now - she is much less clingy and I can now put her down for a few minutes at a time. We joined the co-sleepers last night too, I decided that I didn't want to be up and down all night settling her in the basket so she just cam in bed with us from the start,a nd will do tonight too. It worked fairly well, she slept for a couple of hours between feeds, and I just fed her lying down. DH slept through everything, of course.

No blues here yet, but just waiting for it. Milk is very nearly in, can almost see boobs expanding! The wrost thing right now is the afterpains, I was warned they'd be worse second time round but not how much worse they'd been. Could do with some entonox to get me through some of the feeds!

I'm excited - my mum is coming to stay next week, for the whole week! DH is probably going back to work next week, so will be great to have mum around.

Right, I'm going to bed soon. Happy smooth labour vibes to those still waiting. 8 May ladies, it's not that bad over on this side!

flippineck · 13/05/2009 22:02

grumpy - cross post! I hadn't seen your message about the afterpains. Sorry I haven't reassured you at all, but I am only on my second not third LO - maybe they disappear after the second?!

minimenace · 13/05/2009 22:05

Parents just left with DS - Just going out for a long walk now.

and relax ...

detsy · 13/05/2009 22:06

Whats all this after pains malarkey then? I had none with Lotti - what are they and what should i expect

Febes · 13/05/2009 22:11

I think you get it from your uterus contracting back. Mainly when you feed. I remember slight pains when feeding and big clots coming out (nice). I didn't realise it was worse with DC2s and 3s.

Jennster · 13/05/2009 22:29

I didn't notice afterpains with no2.

Contractions are back between 8 and 5 mins apart, 50-60 seconds long.

Tummum · 13/05/2009 22:55

Evening ladies. G has just gone down after a whole evening on the boob. Maybe he's starting his manly obsession with boobs early?!

Afterpains I was terrified of them and had them pretty badly with DD2. (For me they were like having a contraction with the pain at the very base of my back (I get labour pain there too)) I won't lie, I did have them this time around. Worst in the first couple of days (when BF) but eased off completely by day 5. I kept myself dosed up with painkillers to try to ease them off and found it worst at night when I was less accepting of the pain. But all gone now

Go Jenn hope it is back on again for you ! Go Mini too. Sending speedy and lovely labour vibes your way.

Right, I'm off to catch some zeds before the sucking monster wakes up again.

Momino · 13/05/2009 23:19

evening. just watched apprentice as well, all numpties (as grumpy referred to them ).
afterpains, were v bad with this past birth and worst whilst bfeeding. felt like bad period pains or contractions but took paracet and they did end after about 3/4 days. don't worry too much about it.

detsy, thanks for the compliment on Harper's pics. makes me beam! i do love looking at everyone's pics of the babies. it's nice to puta baby face to a name ( does that make sense?).

flippi, it will be so nice to have your mum, i'm but happy for you .

Momino · 13/05/2009 23:28

grump, do you have to take the BC on walks? i used to do the afternoon walk but don't see how i'll be able to with 3 children. it was manageable with 1 then 2 LOs but 3 is pushing it. what is anyone elsewith dogs doing about walks?

OP posts:
Momino · 13/05/2009 23:32

actually going to bed now. Harper finished feeding and will probably be up with her at the usual 1-4 when she's at her most grisley (sp?). not sure yet if it's colic or she just doesn't settle and needs a cuddle? we'll see. good night.x

minimenace · 13/05/2009 23:40

Thanks tumm hope everyone else is going well too.

DH just called hospital as contrax getting stronger. They have asked me to go in now just for them to check me as I am a VBAC and they just want to monitor the baby a little and said they will probably send me home after.
If I make it home again I will post back later.

Good luck everyone else with tightnings and shows etc. Lets make tomorrow another 3+ arrival day !!

Momino · 14/05/2009 03:49

mini, hope all well with you and sending positive labour vibes your way.

just awake feeding Harper. she was crying and it took me awhile to realise in my sleep thst the crying i heard was a baby and the baby was mine! reality not set in yet ?

Tummum · 14/05/2009 07:53

Hooray for Jennster congratulations !! Look fwd to hearing all about it

chocolatebunnies · 14/05/2009 07:58

oo oo oo oo just check my banking and my HIPG has been paid today! Hoooray!

Today is shaping up to be a good day, all thats needed is baby to arrive!!!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 14/05/2009 08:28

Morning all and huge congratulations to Jennster! Another BIIIG baby (well, big to me anyway!!) A HB too, YAY!!

I hope Minimenace is doing ok and having her baby now!

Momi I get taken for a very slow walk mid-morning by the dog at the moment and I send DD1 (she's 11 though) out with the dog on an afternoon for a quick whirl round the block. Then I persuade DH that he needs something from the shop on an evening and he takes the dog with him. I don't have the same issues as you though as I can leave DD1 at home, you can't leave your babies at home!! I would like to be able to take the dog with me when I'm walking to school to get DD2 but she's too nervy and I would worry about her snapping at people - she's so very pretty that people want to stroke her. That applies to DD2 and the dog

Re afterpains, I had such awful ones with DD2 (also did lose huge clots when they happened , suppose it's a good thing in a way, as it's proof your uterus is contracting back, but I am NOT looking forward to this time round. Oh well.

I am pretty resigned now to going overdue, no early signs, no shows, no cx's. Sigh. Hopefully seeing MW today so we'll see what she says. Just once I'd like a fairly on-time baby!

Chocbunnies boo re things stopping, yay re HIPG!!! I hope mine gets paid soon.......

Come on you early Mayers, get those babies out.

Febes · 14/05/2009 08:36

Hi. Reporting for roll call. I woke at 3 convinced I was in labour but no just a few tightenings then back to sleep. Toddler group this morning which DD and I love so its not all bad.

Jennster Well done on the WHB anothet girl too that evens up the offspring again doesn't it. Can't wait to here the name and story.

DH is getting very impatient to meet his boy We don't know what we are having.....

FiKelly · 14/05/2009 09:05

jennster yay congratulations and look forward to hearing all about it when you're able.

minim you didn't make it back on so assuming it was all go for you last night at the hospital. hope to hear your vbac went well.

ds & i off to local play group this am.. still getting twinges and twangs but nothing else. dh looked way too shattered to be bothered with any hankie pankie last night.. so let him off. after all he did come home with yummy mini magnum munchies

re walking the dog.. with ours being poorly and losing so much weight he's not had the energy to walk far. I get as far as the garden outside let him off the lead for a run around and all he does is wee &/or poo and before I know it he's off back inside already. takes me longer to persuade ds it's time to go back in! poor douglas dog.. he's on double dose of steroids as of today.. still struggling to get his weight back up.
