Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Comewhinewithme · 13/05/2009 02:42

Hi 28th May but this is baby no 6 and I usually have them around 37/8 weeks .
You would think I would know by now what labour starting felt like .

How are feeling ?

frazzledoldbag · 13/05/2009 02:53

oooh blimey number 6 - am very impressed! This is no 3 for me and I'm feeling a bit foolish about not knowing whether this might be 'it' or not. Have eaten the rice crispies and not feeling so sick now thank goodness. Having mild-ish contractions every 5 mins or so. Think I might head back to bed, take a couple of paracetamol and listen to my hypno-birthing cd on ipod - see if I can get some sleep. Am sure if this is really it I'll be in no doubt soon!

How are you feeling now? Do you think this is it for you?

Comewhinewithme · 13/05/2009 02:58

I really don't know am having lots of tightenings and discharge but have really bad heartburn too worse I ever had and am wondering if that is stressing me out a bit .

Hope you manage to get some sleep and if it is the real thing good luck .

frazzledoldbag · 13/05/2009 03:05

Same to you. And when you have your baby please come back on and tell us! Thanks for the hand holding. Night x

SpangleMaker · 13/05/2009 05:49

Ooh any news frazz?? Glad you had some hand holding in the night.

Big congrats to flippineck pulapula & Dandy - love the name Hector.

Pah - well & truly p'd off. Harvey is having the best sleep of his life and I've had the worst since I was in hospital. Fed H & put him to bed at 11pm, woke up with his grumblings at 2.30am but by the time I'd roused myself he was sound asleep again. Dozed on & off until 3.15 when he vaguely woke up so gave him a dream feed, he's now still asleep & I haven't slept since - aaargh!! and DH isn't even snoring! What's wrong with me???

All the talk of vadge jelly & desserts has made me chuckle though

Anyone else on the early shift?

Blottedcopybook · 13/05/2009 07:23

I'm up! I've been awake since 5ish, no idea why. It's the first morning in months if not years that I've been awake first in the house. Ah well.

What's happening with you lot this morning then? Anyone having a nice bowl of jelly for breakfast?

chocolatebunnies · 13/05/2009 08:04

Morning ladies, going to really need your support today

Still in pain but nothing consistant, waters still there and no show as yet, but everytime I stand up it feels like my fanjo is about to drop out, having copious amounts of 'jelly' and keep needing to wee, also my bum hurts, when I sit or lie down, think its my coxcyx (sp??) have also woken up feeling really sick, headache, sore throat the works, my tummy is really sore

To top it all of DH had to go to work this morning and I have no-one to help me with Madi, he's been gone 30 mins and Im not coping already, I want to curl up in a ball and just try and sleep.

Im so tierd and in pain that Im just sat here crying, dont know what to do with myself

Hope everyone is ok, any babies in the night??

rosielady · 13/05/2009 08:36

Frazzle glad you had some hand holding in the night - wishing you luck for everything going well.

Chocbunnies poor you - can you take some paracetomal? It might take the edge off it. Also is the jelly not the show??

What is your plan re:looking after Madi when you are in labour? Can you call them over or ask a neighbour to help out? Is DH close enough to come back quickly if required?

Big hugs - try to keep calm and deep breathe.

emmabemmasmom · 13/05/2009 08:42

saus Oh no offence taken lol I think it is an old fashioned name too, just happy it is my middle name! To each there own though Just a thing we do in our family is using parents and siblings names as middle names. I was not going to use my sisters but then my mom did the whole 'Oh it would be so nice, and when she has a baby one day it will be Eileen and wouldn't that be nice?' So yeah, guilted into it lol

choco Ohhh sorry you are not comphy! I totally know how you feel as I am having a lot of the same things. My bum hurts...the pressure is emmence. My pelvic bone hurts too like I was kneeded in the groin! My DH is also at work and I don't know how I will get through the day with DD either. I wish people could see and understand how hard the last few days are and just let us sleep lol Hope you get some progress soon or it not are able to put your feet up at some point today!

I am feeling so weird today. Everything hurts. Lower back, bum, belly, fanjo...so much pressure! I have no...jelly lol...but I have felt like something is up there all night.

I am also getting cold feet and wondering if I can do it. I am shitting myself about the labour bit...such a baby me. I just keep telling myself I would rather get it over with than sit here and freak about it.

Am I the only one still having sex? lol We have not been as FIL was away and I didn't want to chance my luck, but the min he landed last night we were at it again lol Anything to get this baby out of me at this point...going for a walk later too, then Asda. Hoping my waters break there so I can get vouchers

Jennster · 13/05/2009 08:46

Fraz Feeling any better? Any news?

Choc I'm here and on the end of the phone.

Been waking (and falling back asleep) consistently during the night with bad crampy tightenings. I chuckled every time I woke thinking Ooh I'm doing a Belgian, but no. I've been 'showing' for days now. Hopefully today is the day. May 13th may be unlucky for some, but all my other children have prime number birthdays, so if not today then I should hold on until Sunday for 17th.

Going to go for a nice long walk after I've showered, listened to Hynotherapy CD and finished eating this muesli. Muesli is going down very slowly.

frazzledoldbag · 13/05/2009 08:49

Morning ladies, just checking back in.
spangle poor you, how frustrating not being able to sleep
chocobunnies poor you too, don't cry honey - you sound like you've had a night like me and it's not nice is it? Sounds like things are starting for you - is there nobody you can call on to watch Madi for a few hours so you can relax and have a lie down?

No baby in the night from me. Was awake from 2-4ish with contx coming and going - some really quite sore and others just BH ish. Listened to my hypnobirthing thing a couple of times (God, that woman's voice is getting on my nerves) then eventually fell back to sleep. But kept dreaming that I was in pain for various random reasons (probably because I was) - woke up this morning with still more pain in my back etc and more ctx low down. Anyway be back later. Got to get DD2 dressed and to nursery. x

Jennster · 13/05/2009 08:49

Emmabemma Perhaps I should go back to Pizza Express for lunch. Free pizzas for year would be nice.

rosielady · 13/05/2009 09:04

Emmab i have just texted you - are you up for a coffee this morning? I can come to you or meet somewhere if you prefer? I would have to bring DS as he is not at nursery today.

cloveofhislife · 13/05/2009 09:06

wow, this is such a busy thread!
Congrats Pula on your baby. I love the name.
fraz I was awake a lot last night too with contrax. I didn't think they were BH as they had a slight pain that wrapped around the bottom of my bump, period pain style which kept waking me up. My BH are completely painless. I had them through the night from 11pm, but nor regular and not less than 30 mins apart. How are yours now?
choc sorry you aren't feeling good. Isn't jelly your show or at least part of it? Hope you feel better soon.

Think I'm just going to veg today and maybe do a little laundry. The change in weather is not making me want to jump up and start nesting, I just can't be bothered!
Prob around most of the day willing on the pains
PS emmabemma you're not the only one . I agree, anything to get the baby out! We have sex almost every other night. I as DP for a 'donation' lol.

Febes · 13/05/2009 09:14

Morning checking in for roll call. Well I had the best sleep I've had all week last night so much for things kicking off. I have my sweep at 10.45 today so hopefully they will either say its days away or you are close I just need to know.

minimenace · 13/05/2009 09:38

I'm still HERE too.

Feeling tired and achy from all the contracting overnight but never amounted to anything. Can't believe I'm actually at your jelly choco as MW said I should get some pinky discharge after yesterdays vigourous sweep but my constant knicker watching has given me nothing to be proud of.
Sorry for TMI but I can't believe this is what I am now reduced to
Choco hope things get moving for you soon, you too frazz
It's my mums birthday today so she is hoping today will be the day.

emmabemmasmom · 13/05/2009 09:40

Rosie Got your message and sent one back. Hope we can work something out today!

clove oh good! Glad I am not the only one

Guess I should go do the dishes...always leave them the night before in hopes that the dish fairy will do them for me. Has never happend...whats up with that?

FiKelly · 13/05/2009 09:49

checking in.. I'm still here. had a very early start this am urghh.. ds was up at 5.30am tried in vain to get him to go back to sleep but in the end took him into our room at 6.30am to watch five while I tried to doze a while longer.. which didn't really work either as I've still got the same niggles and aches as so many of us today.. with no show or anything else to go with them. have had 1st breakfast, been out with the dog, put washing away & finished tidying the kitchen and bedrooms before the flooring guys turned up at 8.45am to do our en suite. now thinking of 2nd breakfast as I'm hungry/nauseous again!

I'd go for a walk but it's grotty outside.. drizzle and misty

Momino · 13/05/2009 09:49

morning. frazz, glad whiney was here for you this morning. I was awake but had a very unsettled baby so couldn't sit and MN. luckily it was only for a couple of hours so i got a 3-4 hour stretch later and woke up after 8. dh is here to do the nursery run.

sounds like a lot of you are having The Signs. I've got fingers crossed for all of you. chocob, i'd 2nd the paracetamol advice. can poss take edge off your pain. jelly sounds like show to me, i bet you're close!

mini, febes, i had no further show or any diff niggles after my sweep - just went into labour about 11 hours later. hopefully things will progress for you soon.

minimenace · 13/05/2009 09:57

Febes good luck with your sweep today - hope the MW has some good news for you lots of dialation etc.

Jennster & Clove hope it's a good sign and things are getting going for you both too

Sorry Comewhine ... Big Welcome to the May thread. Wow no 6 ... how were your previous labours ? all different ? Thanks for looking after our frazz in the early hours. hope you are back here with us again soon.

Momino · 13/05/2009 10:04

fi, sounds like you've had a whole day before 8.45! you certainly deserve a 2nd breakfast, hope you've had it.

emmabsmom, lol at dish fairy. i always feel awful about leaving dishes for the morning but it always happens. i'm just too tired to do it. and can't get dh to do them as he does the cooking, cleaning up from dds' supper, walks the dog, etc. i'm going to wish for the dish fairy then.

minimenace · 13/05/2009 10:09

I just noticed I have not put any weight on in the past week - should I be worried about that? My weight gain has been very consistant since week 14. I'm guessing it will slow down now but no gain at all in a week is strange isn't it ?

cloveofhislife · 13/05/2009 10:11

mini I had my first sweep (which wasn't vigorous) last Friday and I got nothing from it, not mucus / show...nothing. Then I had a vigourous sweep Monday and had a large bloody show Monday night. Had a little bit of mucus this morning too, too it may still happen for you.
I am booked for another sweep tomorrow, so I am really hoping my cervix is more favourable than it was Monday! Did she say anything about your cervix? Are you booked for another one? Know what you mean about how we are now resorting to knicker / tp watching. Don't you think it's like the 2 ww when we wanted to get pregnant ~ all over again?
good luck at your sweep Febes.

frazzledoldbag · 13/05/2009 10:22

Hello, me back again. Am pacing about feeling nauseous, slight upset tummy and my Mr Tesco has just been with my shopping - but before I could put it away in the fridge I HAD TO empty the whole fridge out and Dettox it first! WTF? Am obsessed by cleaning. Still having contractions sporadically and feel really quite strange. Hoping something either happens or I feel better soon as this is not much fun! MIL just phoned to let me know she's on stand-by, has the car and has put the gin bottle away! Lovely MIL.
Off to iron some more bedding now.
(an alien has taken over my body).
momino sorry you had an unsettled little girl in the early hours. Hope you have a good day.

Everyone else (too many for me to list in my addled state) - hope your niggles turn into labour very soon and those being 'swept' have a successful one.

Back later x

chocolatebunnies · 13/05/2009 10:22

Sorry I meant jelly as in lots of discharge I dont think its my show as its not the right colour IYKWIM

Things are exactly the same, constant pain but now I have been sick too

Am struggling and at the moment nobody is avaliable to help, unless I actually go into labour.

I've tried paracetemol but its not helping.

I wish I could explain the pain to you, the whole left hand side of my bump hurts, an have a burning sensation pain on the top of my bump on the left hand side.

This coupled with sharp pains here and there and achy bum and heavy fanjo I dont know whats going on.
