oh and choco - sorry meant to see how you are feeling now? Hope things are either kicking off for you or you're getting a bit of rest. x x

Momino · 13/05/2009 10:27

mini, i think it's normal foe weight gain to slow or stop in the last month.

frazzledoldbag · 13/05/2009 10:28

oops cross posted choco. I wonder if you should maybe give your midwife a call to see what she thinks? She might be able to reassure you or might ask you to go in and get checked out - not sure about constant and burning pain - I think maybe you should just speak to someone. Or if you can't get hold of your midwife soon I'd call labour ward and ask their advice - they won't mind a bit I shouldn't think. Let me know how you get on. x

frazzledoldbag · 13/05/2009 10:32

In fact choco I'm worried about you - I think you should phone labour ward and ask their advice about the constant and burning pain you're feeling as soon as you can.

Momino · 13/05/2009 10:33

choco, i think you should call MW. esp if pain hasn't subsided or is getting worse.

i think DC of 'jelly' without pinkness could be mucus plug. mmmmm. i had that about 3 days before dd2 arrived and week or 2 before dd3.

OP posts:
Momino · 13/05/2009 10:35

x posted with frazzled, i agree with calling MW. please do!

minimenace · 13/05/2009 10:38

Agree with Frazzle Choco Call your MW - Thats what they are there for, especially at this late stage now. I'm always texting and emailing mine about mundane things and she is brilliant.

Thanks for the reassurance Momino I hoped that was the case.

I hope your right clove - she did say my Cervix was more favourable yesterday than previously and also very soft and 1cm dialated so hopefully a good sign that the past week of tightenings and contractions have been actually doing something.

Can' believe it's been 1 week now since that first night I thought - ooh this is it and virtually every night since has been the same.

Anyway MW is coming back tomorrow for another Sweep, apparently having a couple close together can be more effective.

FiKelly · 13/05/2009 10:41

chocolatebunnies I agree definitely phone the labour ward.. now.. better to be safe that sorry.

FiKelly · 13/05/2009 10:45

minim I wouldn't worry about not gaining weight.. baby has probably still carried on and you might have lost weight balancing it out IKWYM?

minimenace · 13/05/2009 10:48

Choco I just noticed you mentioned a burning pain in your bump on Monday lunchtime, have you had the same pain since then ?

minimenace · 13/05/2009 10:50

Oooh hope you are right Fi .. would be nice to get a head start on my own body weight loss ..... .. lol

chocolatebunnies · 13/05/2009 10:58

I phoned delivery suite and have spoken to the rudest most unhelpful miwife ever, they're not concerned in the slightest, made me feel really stupid like I should know whether Im in labour or not! She said its all normal and to ring back if I was getting 'real' contractions.

I told her about the buring pain and that that side of my bump is really really hard and she said well yes theres a baby in there!

So I am now crying again, this is all shit

Sorry am just really annoyed at the midwife.

FiKelly · 13/05/2009 11:00

ds and I made it out yesterday to plant his courgette seeds in their starter pots. he was v excited to fill the pots with earth, poke holes for the seeds, pop the seeds in, cover them and then water with his little watering can. I then explained we had to bring the pots inside to put on our kitchen window sill till the little plants have grown a bit or the snails would eat the seedling plants. every few mins after we came back inside he kept dashing into the kitchen shouting 'going to see my plants mummy' lol I did say it would take a long time before the plants would appear.. but to him 5mins must be a v long time!

FiKelly · 13/05/2009 11:27

chocolatebunnies just seen your post.. don't cry.. why do some mw's have to be so awful! in a way it's good news though that she wasn't concerned about your burning sensation.. it obviously didn't ring any alarm bells..

cloveofhislife · 13/05/2009 11:48

chocolatebunnies could your pain be round ligament pain? I have this and it shoots from my left or right hip all the way up the side of my bump. it can be an incredible pain which takes my breath away.
Could this be it do you think?

euromum · 13/05/2009 11:49

Just checking in quickly as otherwise it will be ages efore I manage it and I will totally have lost track. Seems like lots of people might be in labour so crossing my fingers that you all actually are, just so frustrating to be putting up with all the discomfort otherwise.

chocbunnies poor you, you really didn't need to get a grumpy midwife on the phone! I'm sure things are ok though, like Fi said she would have mentioned it if the pain rung alarms so I'm sure things are ok even if you're feeling crappy in the meantime. Glad your washing machine got sorted and I do hope someone has bought you some luxury ice cream to cheer you up re freezer. Is there anyone who can come over or somehow help with Madi today? It does sond like you could just use a break, I do hope you can get a rest of some sort and feel better. ((((Big virtual hug)))).

euromum · 13/05/2009 11:52

By the way hahaha but really don't know whether to be or [disgusted emoticon] about the jelly/angel delight/trifle! Just thanking my lucky stars that I was not in any way craving those things.

Meant to wish good luck, good sleep and good vibes to all those with little newborns. I had also forgotten just what it's like. Hang in there ladies, sure you're doing brilliantly and it WILL get better/easier soon.

detsy · 13/05/2009 11:58

Morning girls! (just)

Guess what????? I'm still here!

mini same thing is happening with me - been having false alarms for a week and show for much longer. Is also bloody painful when i wee/poo - have to lean forward and concentrate on breathing - i assume its just baby in pelvis - bloody hope that labour will not feel like that

Plain pale yellow or clear jelly is show - doesn't have to be bloody

Have labour inducing reflexology in an hour - does nothing but is v relaxing and my lovely reflexologist has been researching new induction via feet methods - so who knows... yada yada yada

Actually put my out of office on this morning and spoke to my boss - feel much better for being half arsed professional!

Weight gain is likely to slow or stop at the end apparently as well. I'm getting a bit worried about bump size as he is still growing and my CMW said 2 weeks ago oh no more than 8lbs baby def - yesterday she said oh, i think no more than 9lbs.... I'm only quite little....(with v small fanjo )

detsy · 13/05/2009 12:00

Hey euro how was your waxing session? Are you no longer a hairy mary

detsy · 13/05/2009 12:07

oh no am i doing it again - why does this always happen to me? Nobody likes me everybody hates e think i'll go and eat worms

Momino · 13/05/2009 12:09

want to hear about euro's wax as well .
detsy, reflexology is great. my sis didn't knoe the induction spots but knew the pregnancy ones (eg. uterus, spine, lungs, back etc). she could tell/guess hoe baby was lying just by feeling my feet, and she was right! agree with you that it is relaxing. enjoy your session.

Momino · 13/05/2009 12:13

detsy, lol. i'm here but slowly typing one-handedly and BF. this, from someone who can't walk & chew gum at same time. forgive my simple spelling errors, leaving out articles etc.

maybe worms is the next induction food-type? blech.

FiKelly · 13/05/2009 12:15

I'm back.. just made ds a quick lunch.. as we head off to pre school in half an hour. still got to get him dressed properly too. figured he could dirty his vest with his lunch then hide said dirty tomato seed dribbled vest under his t-shirt [lazy mummy]

chocolatebunnies · 13/05/2009 12:17

I've managed to pack Madi off to her great grandparents for the rest of the day, thank god.

I pretty sure the pain is ligament/muscles stretching, when I was pregnant with Madi she was back to back from early on, so I didnt get any pains like this, but this baby is all out the front with spine poking out my left hand side

The Midwife was so rude its un-true, she did suggest having a bath, had to smurk, thats all well and good but is she going to come and get me out when Im done????

Unfortunatly I still have no ice cream, because of the pain starting at 5pm, DH came home straight from work and didnt stop off at Sainsbos.

Im now lying on the sofa with my duvet, needing cuddles

Momino · 13/05/2009 12:17

choco, am so at the rude MW. it's her job, she's the expert and should give advice, reassurance to worried callers re: pregnancy niggles, pain uncertainties. she should know better. we're told to call in weeks before due date with any odd pains that don't go away.
