I had pula's text message too. A big congrats to her!

Thanks frazzled I do think it's a bit of settling into the real world. Maybe she keeps wishing that she was back inside and so calls out in her sleep. You know: OH NO, WHERE AM I? Hopefully she'll get used to the real world soon, because she already feeds well about 3-4hourly on both sides and I can slowly feel that my colostrum is building up in amount too.

FiKelly · 12/05/2009 19:24

wow great news about pulapula congratulations

nearly missed the post as when I posted it put my post on the next page..

detsy · 12/05/2009 19:27

PAH PAH PAH - Frazz you are so right girl - ifyou go into labour there will be one almighty huffy knickers here - impatient, jealous, envious, sulky??? Moi???

Febes hmmm you too have gone very quiet!?? Thats right all just go on leave me on my own on 8 May - I don't mind REALLY!!

Didn't get my sweep today as booked in for pre birth assessment now on Friday and they want to do it there and not let me have 3. Been asleep (sulking) for a few hours and feeling a bit better... ish.... I'm obv a term + girl (like Grumpy too I think or was it Pula??)

sophietom its not me who is disgusting with desserts - thats Frazz I could never ruin custard or angel delight with any additives and then EAT IT - OMG Where are you BTW, I think you may be nearish to me (well very ish)

LOL at the names discussions

Hot curry ordered, MW and frazz suggested sex - am i the only woman on here who can think of nothing worse than a shag at the mo?? God I can't even think about it

Febes · 12/05/2009 19:35

I'm still here but still niggling away. I had regular 10min apart strong contractions most of the afternoon but they have fizzled out somewhat so I have cooked dinner and eaten and now will wait and see. I have been feeling different since about 3am this morning. Had back ache, pelvic pain and what must be BH most of today. Oh well DH didn't go into work this afternoon and has tomorrow off but is working on thursday so no pressure there then!! He will work if the baby hasn't come or if it has but if I'm in labour he'll have to have another day off which won't be ideal but if it needs to be then so be it. He did manage to do half the tiling today so the bathroom is starting to take shape now.

Pula Congrats!! Glad to hear it all went to plan.

Belgian Gorgeous photo of Claire on FB.

Frazzled and Choc Not fair!! I hope I'm first .

Oh well if all else fails I have my sweep booked for the morning.

Febes · 12/05/2009 19:37

We aren't shagging here either detsy ewwwwww

detsy · 12/05/2009 19:50

lol at febes - keep us posted! Sounds promising tho?

choc and frazz sooooo??? Whats happening?

pula big congrats on Sam's arrival, big kiss for him xx

Belgian Claire is gorgeous, I wanted to reach into the pc and give her a big cuddle - love her wrists!

DP gone out for Angel delight as well as curry - am starving uncharacteristically....hmmm, flatly refuse to get excited here by anything as all just goes away so am ignoring EVERYTHING!

detsy · 12/05/2009 19:51

Frazz I'm going to find my phone - hope MIL is sobering up Good luck and big hugs if this is for real x

Tummum · 12/05/2009 20:10

Evening all.

Flip huge congrats

Hooray for PulaP aswell.

Choco and Frazz oooooh! exciting. Sending positive labour vibes your way

Belgian G was exactly the same for me. In the end I figured he was cold and put a cardigan on him which helped him settle, and when my milk came in on day 3-4ish he suddenly started sleeping a lot more at night.

Well, had my final MW visit today and I've been discharged, which is great. Except now I am having a huge hormonal wobble because the DDs have been on my case all day "Mummy, why are you always holding the baby", "Mummy, I'm scared of having a baby brother in case you don't love me anymore" etc etc. Nightmare. So in an attempt to not have a guilt trip I am treating myself to a nice glass of white before I start getting stressed about getting G to sleep at a reasonable hour. Sigh. This is hard, but I suppose I always knew this bit would be difficult as we all adjust to a new addition to the household. It doesn't help that it's the first proper night that DH is away with work and I am feeling pretty lonely.

Enough moaning Tumm. Sorry. Back to the wine & chocolate !

minimenace · 12/05/2009 20:18

Good luck Febes, Choco and Frazzled - hope this is it for one or all of you. Could be a few new arrivals tomorrow - excellent. Update us later if possible. Maybe we should start doing a roll call in the mornings to see who is still here !!

CONGRATULATIONS PulaPula wonderful news. What a good weight for 38 weeks too

I had my first successful sweep late this afternoon, My own midwife came to see me (I haven't seen her for a few weeks) and she seemed to do the sweep so much more simply than the last two struggles. She said I was 1cm dialated which is better than I was told on Friday, but Cervix very soft and she could feel the head. Totally down, engaged and ready to go. I am elated with this news as DS never got past 3/5ths or something.
She said if todays sweep doesn't kick me off then she is going to do another on Thursday. i've not had any twinges yet today but keeping myself optimistic.

I'm going to check out FB pics now.

Momino · 12/05/2009 20:19

choc, frazz, febes... who's first?

pula, big congrats on baby Sam, lovely.

grumpy, I pronounce my FIL's name 'BUR nurd' mainly because that's the way he, his family, friends pronounce it so I'd feel silly calling him berNARD all these years. My mom does call him bernie though .

we've had a hellish day with both 3year old and 20 month old tantrumming, whingeing, having toddler melt downs all day. this has happened since Sunday PM. It's been very difficult and that's with DH here so I'm so worried what I'm going to do next week when he's at work. I'm really going to have to get Harper into a routine so I can plan mealtimes, nap time accordingly for all 3. Can't remember who else has 3 little ones... any tips? today I felt like we were one of the families on Supernanny but unfortunatly Jo wasn't here to give advice.

guess I'll find out how to deal with it next week. sigh. I got myself into this, didn't I?

OP posts:
Tummum · 12/05/2009 20:33

Monimo no wisdom to impact, just my sympathy as I am feeling very similar to you. I keep on telling myself that I went through this when DD2 was born and DD1 kicked off with me, and it was horrible at the time but we got through it and it was all OK in the end. I am wondering, at this point, why on earth I got myself in this position !!

detsy · 12/05/2009 20:35

minimen can you tick me on the register for tomorrow morning now - i'll still be here....

Momi hope tomo is better with all the littles - must be a huge change for them and enormous stress for mum! Its early days hun, am no expert as only have one little madam but am sure that things will settle down soon - blotted def has 3 at mo, unsure about anyone else.

runningmonkey · 12/05/2009 20:36

Ooh good luck choc, febes and frazz

congrats pula tum no words of advice to offer I'm afraid but a big hug from me. Hope you have a good night.

momino you too, hope tomorrow is better for you.

minimenace sounds like things might be happening, exciting!

Just had v spicy pasta for tea, and am going to try to finish my knitting now if my wrists hold up.

frazzledoldbag · 12/05/2009 20:52

oh detsy - just get on and shag him - you're not supposed to enjoy it you know - it's recommended by the medical profession as a proven induction method doncha know?!!!
AND YOU'LL THANK ME IF IT WORKS!

Well, was just about to report a big slow down in my contractions but have just had another one. Having been in quite a bit of disomfort earlier on I feel much better, but every time I stand up or go upstairs I get quite sore again. Will just wait and see I think..........might do a bit of ball bouncing then Tesco online and see.
(MIL will be so hacked off with me if she's sobered up for no reason hee hee hee)

Good luck to everyone else and big contrats to pula - another boy for the thread. So fab.x x

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 12/05/2009 21:00

Everyone will have had their babies by this weekend from the looks of things.

Except me, as I'm a 2 weeks overdue kind of girl - it's very cosy inside my big belly.

Pula Huge hugs and congrats and love the name

Blottedcopybook · 12/05/2009 21:03

Momino ZOMG I feel your pain, my DCS have been a trio of little sh!ts tonight and I'm ready for giving them all away. DS1 is just stoating about like a fart in a trance and being completely thoughtless, DS2 is going through the hairy fit toddler stage and DD didn't have a nap at nursery today so has been in floods of inconsolable tears all evening. I am so tired of listening to their rubbish behaviour.

I had my third sweep in five days today and not even so much as a blob of vadge jelly to show for it. I am utterly beyond frustration, I just want to sleep for the next three days.

Blottedcopybook · 12/05/2009 21:05

Pula Congrats!

Detsy If he puts that anywhere near me I'll snap it off and use it to check his prostate

Grumpy I hope you pointed him towards the chip shop..?

Frazz Hooray!

Febes · 12/05/2009 21:07

Things have halted here oh well its good telly tonight so life isn't all bad. CSI then Shameless. Detsy and Grumpy looks like I'll see you at roll call in the morning.

FiKelly · 12/05/2009 21:14

no shagging here either.. mostly as by the time it gets to evening we're both too shattered.. and morning is out as I'd have to wake up at about 4.45am so dh still had time to catch his train to work! weekend is best time but ds woke up just as we were thinking about it... his loud demands for breakfast sorta killed the mood ;)

just had another clary sage bath and nothing.. how many drops is everyone adding to their baths?

sausagenmash · 12/05/2009 21:17

Congrats to Pula - Samuel was my fave boy's name!

Frazz and Choc - wooooooh!!

Blotted at 'blob of vadge jelly' - I'm insanely looking for such a thing each time I go for a wee - and I've got aaaaages yet (Grumpy I'll be after you, I'm sure)

Emmabemmasmom - muchos apologies - hope you didn't think I was being rude about the name Patricia... ... if its any consolation, my Nan's sisters were called Florrie and Rene.... yes, I had an Aunt Flo.... goodness knows what my great nan was thinking in the early 1900s....

FiKelly · 12/05/2009 21:27

well it seems i'm back to the alien belly and strange twangs have stopped for now so I'll be joining roll call tomorrow too..

ReeBee · 12/05/2009 21:35

Pula, great news and loads of congratulations. Lovely name.

How exciting for frazz and choc as well!

No sex for me either, either I or DH are too tired / busy / fat / forgetful / cross / all of the above...

Why is nothing whatsoever happening to me??? I'm due tomorrow, don't I deserve a small show at least?! Or the urge to iron a la frazz?! Detsy, think I'm going to be in your gang and prob still pregnant in about July!

FiKelly · 12/05/2009 21:38

of course I'm hoping that sods law kicks in.. the last of our new flooring is due to be laid at 9am tomorrow and I'm wearing my slinky hot milk nightie tonight.. no globs of anything in sight so just my wishful thinking wittering on!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 12/05/2009 21:43

Saus Betcha any money I'm the last to pop. I bet you beat me by oooooh 7 days?!?!?!?!?

Blotted I was thinking about you, hoping things may have kicked off . I was going to have some leftover trifle but it's got red jelly in it and 'vadge jelly' . Never have my pants been so fascinating, I am hoping to see something, anything too! DD2 decided to have hysterics about peas this evening . She had to be hand-fed .

Oh and I pointed DH in the direction of the fridge when he came in, sadly for me, there was a portion of the rather lovely fishcakes I made sitting in there. I would have preferred to have nothing but I'm too much of a Stepford Wife obviously.

See you all later, off to ignore the fact that DH is watching 'Wheeler Dealers. for fucks sake........he's spent all day surrounded by cars.........ta-ra lovelies!!!!
