Thanks RunningM I'll get him to check out Baby time ... lol @ the name

Grumpy wish I could lend her out - she has done rather a sterling job and I feel so much more relaxed.

Looby Sorry to hear you are having a bad time with your scar, fingers crossed for these AB's to sort it out.

BelgianC if you aren't too busy with baby Claire could I ask you at what stage your waters broke this time ?

Belgianchocolates · 11/05/2009 19:46

We've had a lovely 1st day so far. Baby C is a v. settled baby. She's been feeding 3.5hourly too and seems to be a natural at going to the breast etc... The dcs are v. tired and dh is putting them in bed as we speak.

I tried to have a nap today and spent a good few hours in bed with baby C to try and nap, but couldn't. Then the PIL arrived unexpectedly and they stayed until 6, so I didn't get to try and nap much in the afternoon. Hopefully baby C will have a settled 1st night like her 1st day.

Congrats to dandy Didn't we think something was happening last night?

cote we ask women to shave themselves, just because it's more dignified than a mw/nurse doing it in theatre. It's also more comfy, because those NHS razors aren't the best . I hope your pre-eclampsia is still not too bad at the moment.

The nail varnish is to check the colour of the nailbeds. It's often the 1st place to see if someone's oxygen levels are dropping or is bleeding. It's mainly in case you need a GA, but I've seen them check them with spinals too. You won't always notice when they check.

Hmmm, can't remember who else I meant to mention.

I keep thinking about last night and keep wondering whether if ds hadn't woken me I'd have carried on sleeping for a bit longer or whether I'd woken at a similar time. Mayby my labour was induced by ds's nightmare

fi and anyone else who's having niggles. I hope they lead somewhere good soon .

Because baby C was late, it looks like I'll be on my own for 3 days from Fri to Sun with the 3, eek! DH will take 1 extra day leave, but if he takes all 4, he wont have any left for the rest of the year at all, which is no good at this time of year.

I'll post a pic of baby C tomorrow as I'm too tired to start finding the leads to download pics onto the computer.

Tummum · 11/05/2009 19:49

Wow Dandy huge congratulations !! Hope you are both recovering well. Love the name . So lovely to have more baby news today

Pula best of luck tomorrow. It must be sooo nice knowing for sure you will meet your LO tomorrow.

Looby sorry to hear of more hassle about the antibiotics. Sounds like the last thing you need.

Fik that's how my labour started... be warned... !

Blotted Big hugs to you. Shit time all around. Rubbish. Hope you feel much much better very soon

Grumpy hugs to you girl. Being preggers is crap sometimes. Well, most times IMO !!

MatthewAndBumpsMummy · 11/05/2009 20:01

congrats to belgian and dandy on the births of Claire and Hector.

good luck for 2moro pula and good luck to you to cote

ive been feeling so extremely tired the last few days, and abit wobbly and strange too still. took me ages to get to sleep last night as i had a really painful pain in the whole of my bump that lasted about a mintue, i thought it was a contraction but i only had it once. could it have been a contraction or not as there was only one? it is possible to go into labour and start cotracting before you have a show or not likely? had a abit of an upset stomach today but not very loose really (sorry tmi) having periody type of pains all day, but dont feel like tightenings.

tried the self induction method wiv dp this afternoon (ds at pre-school) but im sure it wont work, im only 37wks but i just so want this baby out now!!!!

pulapula · 11/05/2009 20:05

matthewandbumpsmummy- it might have been a braxton hicks? Mine can be really painful- and last a couple of minutes or more. Did your bump go really hard too? If so sounds like a BH?

MatthewAndBumpsMummy · 11/05/2009 20:22

pula im really not sure ive never had a braxton hicks before in this pg or the last, but i reckon your probley right as not likely to be a contraction as it was only one. i spose it did go a little tight felt weird coz lo was still moving aswell.

glad all went well with your pre-op today and good luck for 2moro, you must be so exctied this time 2moro your gonna have your lovely lo to hold and cherish!

Momino · 11/05/2009 20:25

dandy, congrats on birth of Hector! gosh, i love the names on the babes and can't wait to place them with the little faces!

belgian, glad Claire is settled. Also want to hear how you fare with the 3. my turn will be next week and I'm scared!

how is everyone tonight? any more babies arriving? niggles still going? hope those of you fed up with being preg get some relief soon. x

Matthewandbumpsmummy- I am getting excited now, especially after hearing about Dandy's LO as we were due the same day and mine is a little boy too. It hasn't seemed real until today really. I just need to not be too excited at bedtime otherwise i won't sleep. I plan to get up for my breakfast at 5.30 and then go back to bed after my antacid tablet at 6am - I've asked DH if he can get the kids up and ready for nursery. I will want to see them before they go though, but an hour or so extra sleep will be good.

Hi sorry for delay in news, just a quick one as off bed.

Evie Mae born Friday 8th by CS weighing 7lbs

All is well, not seen her eyes open yet! Always asleep xx

Febes · 11/05/2009 20:42

Momino · 11/05/2009 20:45

Wonderful news Bekka, very happy for you. Hope you're well and you're able to get some rest. Catch up later.

FiKelly · 11/05/2009 20:45

bekka many congratulations on evie mae, hope you're feeling not too sore after the CS. Look forward to hearing all about it when you're able. Take it easy xoxox

MatthewAndBumpsMummy · 11/05/2009 20:48

congrats bekkaboo lovely name

minimenace · 11/05/2009 20:50

Congratulations Bekka - gorgeous name. Well done.
We are blessed with fabulous news today, isn't it exciting.

Jennster · 11/05/2009 20:50

Belgian Wow what a fab story. I'm half thinking that would be lovely, but I would like a water birth. Had to LOL at the next post. chocolate had obviously posted without reading your's. Apparently you've just proved you can almost give birth in your sleep.

Clove oops hello there.

Alapala It's heartbreaking when they're ill isn't it? It absolutely isn't your fault! Poor thing. (that's for you and ds btw)

Blotted So sorry you're not feeling well. I'm sorry though, I did chuckle at the thought of EPO trickling out still...

FiKelly That back pain sounds a bit like sciatica. Not sure if you want to go into labour naturally if you are discussing a cs so I hope it's the sort of pain you want iyswim?

minimenace I'm with you on the uncertainty of calling in the troops to help with the dc. My mum was getting into the car to come over on Sunday when I rang her and said lets wait. Just as well, as it all stopped. I wouldn't mind but I've done this twice before. DD was great, it started, my waters broke, and it just carried on 'til she was born 6hours later. With DS I think I had a couple of false starts, but when it started I knew it had started. Yesterday I thought I was being supercool and handling everything really well not waking DH when I thought it was all happening but no.

Dandy Yay well done. Hector is a lovely name.

Grumpy PMSL at pervy consultant comment.

bekkaboo Congratulations! Wow at not seeing her eyes open yet.

Oh yeah no movement in the uterus department. Walked into town this morning (about 1.5 miles?) and back. I met Sophietom for a pizza and she is lovely. Managed a nap and to go to yoga this afternoon so feeling really chilled right now.

Does anybody know (and I know this sounds like a stupid question) but if you've had a show, can you still go swimming? If it's stopped coming I mean. Obviously not if your waters have broken but a plug?

rosielady · 11/05/2009 20:52

Dandy and Belgian - mucho congratulations on the baby arrivals! Well done ladies

Pula good luck with tomorrow - lucky you - get to meet the baby at last!

I had my first lazyish day lounging in the sun for an hour whilst DS was at pre-pre school. Stupidly thought - its only an hour even though it was hot and didnt put any cream on - now who has hot stingy sun burnt legs!!

Relaxing into this ML malarky now - lovely not to be at work - even although I love my job.

I've had a few twinges / period pains etc but nothing gathering momentum.

pulapula · 11/05/2009 20:53

COngratulations Bekka- lovely name and well done you. I will update the birth announcements now in view of yours and Dandy's new arrivals!

Momino · 11/05/2009 20:55

have updated the birth announcements list with bekkaboo's, Evie Mae.

Jennster, i think swimming is dangerous if your waters have broken but should be ok with having a show (disclaimer: i'm only guessing though!).

FiKelly · 11/05/2009 20:56

was a lovely bath... niggles still there and feeling tired after an action packed day.

DS had a soft tumble tots style class this morning at 9.30am. Then as soon as we got home i had to make a quick packed lunch for us both.. to take to my MW app just in case she ran late again as DS was due in Pre-school at 1pm. Had errands to run when he was at pre-school so didn't get a chance to sit down properly till about 4pm today. Not for long either as dog needed out for a wee again and then i was making our dinner!!

Going to have an early night for a change... will keep you posted if my niggles are exciting things starting but as i've had no braxton hicks, no show/gloop, no spurt of energy/nesting, no loose bowels or vomiting... i think it's just wishful thinking?!

CoteDAzur · 11/05/2009 21:00

I am lounging in my own bed atm, actually

Uric acid in my blood went from 520 Friday morning to 470 Saturday, to 413 this morning. Still above normal upper limit 350, but as my blood pressure is normal and baby's heart rate is fine, they let me go. Still, I will have to go in once a day for a blood test & monitoring, but if all continues like now, I will have CS on 20 May.

pulapula · 11/05/2009 21:05

Cote- glad to hear you are back home, and things are looking more promising for you. I will have to change the birth annoucements thread again as i put your ELCS date forward to 12 May thinking you might be joining me tomorrow!

runningmonkey · 11/05/2009 21:06

That sounds positive Cote good stuff

Yay Bekka congrats to you too!

Blimmin heck Fi sounds like a manic day!

detsy · 11/05/2009 21:13

Hi all

Welcome clove sorry not said anything before

pula cote good luck tomo girls hope you get decent rest this eve!

Dandy and bekka huge congrats and hugs on your LO arrivals xx

Grumpy just made something in kitchen and now eating it - its scrummy..... may not count as culinary expertise tho....

Angel delight?? (eating whole lot straight out of mixing bowl - greedy caaa)

Febes think flip has left us to it? Anyone heard from her??

I have a MW app tomo - another sweep booked - greeeaaattt fun but at least she may be able to tell me if any more dilatation gone on. (I reckon at least 6cm tomo ) then one of these magical quiet labours where you think you need a poo and hey presto out pops a baby.....

Have to go back to hosp on Friday for a discussion about induction if nothing natural occurred by then.

Fi good luck with the niggles - given up on mine, bloody constant but nothing else happens, was like this last time up to 13 days then v v slow labour, grrrr. I must have a v comfy uterus

ladyhelenatealltheeggs · 11/05/2009 21:18

belgian massive congrats to you on Claire's arrival. What a fab story! And so glad your mum got to meet her brand new grand daughter. And well done for keeping up the trend of quick labours!! Do you think we are an unusual bunch? daizy loved your birth story too. LOL at scaring the woman next door! I think I must have done too as I was mooing so loud, I scared myself!

welcome clove too.

So update on my BF saga....... am still expressing every 3 hours or so. And the grand total of milk collected so far since arriving home ( thats 36 hours ago now) approx 5mls. That is about a teaspoons worth. I know putting a baby to breast is different and hopefully R gets more when he is on the job, so I do try to do that aswell. But he needs to get his weight back up so I'm giving him formula in a cup every 3 hours too. It seems that the whole day is taken up either cup feeding, BF or expressing. No wonder I have now developed piles. GAH they are horrible! Never had em before.

SO have decided that unless milk supply is up by the weekend, will ditch any hope of being an exclusive BFeeder. I think therefore we will end up mixed feeding so have bought the bottles etc today, but will hold off using them until that decision is made.

DH really pissed me off though as he was doing the cup feed at 1am this morning whilst I was expressing and he was getting really frustrated with the cup feed. He ought to try being a woman!! One cup feed and he was annoyed. Try being pregnant, being in labour, giving birth, getting stitches in your undercarriage, breast feeding to no avail for 5 days and then pumping your poor boobs for the next 5. And you think cup feeding is bad.... I was so angry with him, but could only cry about it. I think he got the message. Grrrrr. Men.
