just taking a break from the moving, sorting and organising. yesterday I forgot to pace myself and ended up snapping at ds and bursting into tears.

dh is being v industrious but still comes to ask me inane questions about where stuff is going.. which I haven't a clue about and would be entirely happy him just deciding on his own.. it's nice he wants my opinion but I really don't have the brain power to cope with multi tasking atm. btw as soon as ds wakes up dh will usually go and get him his breakfast but they always end up back in our bed with the telly on. so no chance for me to nap a bit longer.. unlike when I get ds up I seem to be able to occupy him and keep him out of our bedroom if dh is still asleep

Momino · 10/05/2009 15:48

afternoon all. i changed my mind and took a shower but got back into mt pj's . had a lovely 90 min nap. family still not back but should be home soon.

dreading the Return of the Border Collie. ah bless him, he is part of the family. wonder what he'll think of the new baby? probably disappointed and pleased at the same time for another playmate.

dandy, i had a med spicy Indian (bengali i think?) a few hours before going into active labour... don't know if that's what kicked it off .

Hello all,

What a beautiful day it is today. I should be sitting in the garden but I'm trying to catch up with ALL the news on MN. Congrats to everyone who have given birth to their LO's. Some of the birth stories are so great and brought tears to my eyes. Oh and congrats to Chocbunnies and so glad you had a brilliant wedding.

I waiting very (im)patiently for this LO to arrive. 4 days til due date. Unfortunately both myself and my sister were born early, and both of my sister's LO's came early so everyone (inc. me and DP) kinda assumed my LO would be early too. No signs whatsoever though! And I still only look and feel about 7 months preggars, which is a sort of good thing I suppose.

Am getting rather sick of (at least) 3 texts and a few phone calls a day from various friends and family asking if it's arrived yet. NO, NO, NO!!! Every time I remind them that I'm not officially due yet anyway, but it make no difference.

It's nice of people to care really, but does add to the pressure! I expect many of you feel the same as well...

It's been very odd having 2 weeks of ML so far. Don't know what to do with myself really. Won't be like that for too much longer (I hope) though!

pulapula · 10/05/2009 16:18

Afternoon all,

I am feeling a bit sorry for myself this afternoon. Not only is DS very whingy as he has a bad cough/cold, but i think DD and I have both got it too so my wonderful burst of energy and tidy house have both disappeared

And baby is really wriggling and making things uncomfortable- but in a way, I am lucky- last night i realised that if i had gone down the natural birth route, i could have another 4 weeks to go, so at least i wont get to the REALLY big and tired stage.

Jennster · 10/05/2009 16:50

Ses and Daisy Congratulations

Dandy Mexican didn't work for me

Cote and Pula Good luck on Tuesday. Hopefully I'll have popped by then [hopeful]

Well I'm now officially the most pregnant I have ever been. 2 mornings on the trot I woke up thinking bloody hell this is it, lots of mild contractions getting stronger and then nothing. I wonder if I'm only meant to have babies on prime number dates. Tomorrow or Wednesday then.....

Hiya ladies.

Ses and Daisy Congratulations!

Thought I'd pop on quickly and say I'm feeling alot better. I've actually managed to go to the supermarket, which was good, got me out the house for abit.
My CS scar is ALOT better, and I'm able to walk quite alot now, obviously I'm not over doing it at the moment, and DP is still doing everything round the house, and all the night feeds, bless him!

Jacob is doing really well, his jaundice is almost gone, his cord fell off yesterday, which really freaked me out! I'm still getting used to his man parts lol he has a habit of weeing everytime I change him, today resorted in us having to bath him cuz he weed in his hair lol

I couldn't breastfeed him in the hospital as I was in too much pain, was sick from my meds for 2 days etc, but I've been trying to over the past two days, not having much luck, so I've posted on the breastfeeding bit on MN to see if anyone can help me.

Hope everyones ok, i'll try get on again later, I do keep checking to see if there's been anymore babies lol I haven't forgotton you all.

Jael X

rosielady · 10/05/2009 18:15

Dandy -oohh - sounds exciting - I think things are happening.....

Emmab No worries about tomorrow - if things work out I will text you on Tuesday and maybe pop over - if not we can arrange something for a bit later in the week. It sounds like you need to get that man to work tomorrow anyway to make up for today! {grin}

minimenace · 10/05/2009 18:18

message for BelgianC I just noticed that Daizydoo had a similar bum pain to us on Thursday night and then went into labour early hours of Saturday morning. So by my calculations you should be getting some strong contractions tonight and having your baby early hours of tomorrow morning, just in time before your mum goes home.

Then hopefully I'll follow you 24 hours later

Theres some optimism for you

minimenace · 10/05/2009 18:20

OH ... forgot to say DH is cooking me a HOT chilli tonight ... hmm more teeth and gums on fire still I can't complain that he is cooking dinner.

Reggiee · 10/05/2009 18:25

Many congrats SES and DAIZY. Both great names - indeed Owen was a close second choice for us (couldn't use it as a middle name though as would lead to a bad abbreviation).

Sounds like we might have one or two more babes coming soon too . Good luck DANDY and BLOTTED - sounds close, and COTE all the best too. Erm.. am sure there were a couple of others....

Emma hope dh is being a bit more helpful. You might have to give him really specific tasks - I'm afraid sometimes they do need things spelling out to them. And breathe...

Thanks to you all for your reassurance re formula feeding. I've now stopped crying about it, and Ben seems a lot more settled after feeds. My left boob has been painful as the milk was still coming in, but interestingly, my right boob hasn't been engorged at all, and that was the boob where the nip was less painful. I assume he struggled to get milk out of that one.

Reggiee · 10/05/2009 18:28

Lots of x-posts.
JAEL good to hear from you, and glad you are recovering. Is it really gross to say I have kept both my dc's fallen off cords . Put them in their baby boxes!!

MINI enjoy your hot tea!

MatthewAndBumpsMummy · 10/05/2009 18:54

congrats to ses and daizy

sausagenmash · 10/05/2009 18:59

Oooooh Dandy.... any more news?! How exciting!!!

MatthewAndBumpsMummy · 10/05/2009 19:11

good luck with cs's cote and pula

Febes · 10/05/2009 19:24

We just had yummy steak and DH made a gorgeous creamy sauce to go with it and loads of vege. Now what for pudding? I'm so hungry, need feeding every few hours. I had such bad heartburn last time I couldn't eat much but don't seem to have that problem this time .

The bathroom is coming long. The plaster is dry now. DH has built the frame for the cupboard so I think he will start tiling tomorrow.

Dandy- Sounds very promising. Not fair though you have weeks to go.

Jael So glad you are starting to feel better. Your DP sounds like a dream. Keep resting and taking it easy.

momino I feel a bit better as have taken some paracetamol during the day but still couldn't stop the nesting urge. I cleaned out DHs work van and cleaned the inside and outside of the lounge windows. Its a combo of nesting, spring cleaning and starting maternity leave and feeling like I need to catch up on all the things I normally don't have time for when I'm working.

Only a week till my mum gets here now. I'm so excited.

minimenace · 10/05/2009 19:49

Eww Reggie I kept the clip last time but I did clean it and binned the gunk.

My Chilli was HOT HOT HOT - DH had separated his from mine and made mine hotter - he's a wimp for spicy food.
Wish I'd had your dinner though Febes sounds very yummy.

Jael well done, sounds like you are doing fabulously. Take it easy with your scar though definately don't lift any more weight than your baby if possible.

Gosh I really want to avoid a C-section this time if at all possible not sure how I will manage DS as I'm still lifting him in and out of his cot morning and night when DH is working. If I go overdue and have the C-section he will only be with Grandma for a few days until they go off on their next holiday [wheres the eye rolling emoticon when you need it]
Arrgggh I really do need to get a move on.

Febes · 10/05/2009 20:38

Has everyone gone into labour???????

flippineck · 10/05/2009 20:42

dandy - sounds interesting, fingers crossed!

jael - glad you are doing well, second the recommendation to make sure you don't do too much though.

I eventually got dressed at about 2 this afternoon, but even then put my comfiest sloppy trousers on, not proper going out of the house clothes - and then I did goout of the house in them! Took DD to the park, I looked dreadful, and bumped into a friend in the park and then my next door neighbour, the one who had her baby last week and she was looking absolutely fabulous . Baby beautiful too.

Well, don't know whether anything is happening here or not...could be just warming up. Period type pain is worse, and I've been getting loads more braxton hicks - they're coming now even when I'm sat down doing nothing and not just set off by doing things (and even grating cheese set one off earlier!). But they're still feeling like BHs, you know hard bump tightenings, not the lower back/bump contractions that I remember from DD. I've had no show yet, but TMI ALERT I am almost swimming in discharge.

minimenace · 10/05/2009 20:51

LOL @ Febes maybe ... not me though

Belgianchocolates · 10/05/2009 20:54

Evening everyone,

I've had an unexpectedly busy day as dh decided to take us all out to the 'roaches' in the Peak District about an hours drive from where we live. It was a lovely day out, so no PJ day for me. I also did some walking (with crutches), luckily there was a fairly decent path up to the rocks where dh and the dcs did some scrambling and climbing. It was nice to be out in the fresh air and have my mind taken of the fact that just like jenn I'm the most pregnant I've ever been at 4 days over my date.

Minimace thanks for your message. That made me . I hope you're right! I've had some b/h's today, but nothing to write home about. Still having loads of discharge too. For a sec I even thought it was my waters dribbling away, but after close examination it wasn't.

detsy I don't know if you're still on here, but to answer your question: when it's your 2nd, 3rd, child you can be 2.5 cm for ages, unfortunately. I've made myself something similar. It's because your cervix doesn't close as tightly as it does with your 1st baby. Did the mw say anything about if your cx is moving forward or thining?

dandy crossing my fingers for you. Hopefully it's a sign things are happening.

Jael I'm so happy to hear from you and that you're doing better now. Getting out of the house can really make a big difference and make you feel like a normal person again.

Belgianchocolates · 10/05/2009 20:55

flippineck I'm not the only one with the discharge problem then. Hope it's the start of something for you.

chocolatebunnies · 10/05/2009 21:12

Im going to cry . . . our washing maching has just died

What are the chances of me going into labour now!

flippineck · 10/05/2009 21:21

chocbunnies - oh no! Bad timing.
