New thread!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Ooh no idea how that happened LB, MN is very weird today tho'.

I wouldn't think your supply will be too affected. At his next feed he might only take the one very full side, so be prepared to express all the milk out of the untouched side if that's the case.
Then you got more in store too

Glask the clothes are mainly 0-3, with 3 Next sleepsuits, 1 M&P snowsuit/hat and 1 M&P outfit being for newborn.
If I'd known you were short I'd have saved all the newborn stuff too.
I gave 2 binbags full of newborn stuff to Oxfam last month. The majority of it was still with tags and packeted as loads of people bought newborn for us and we never got to use it all.

Gruff, I have no idea how you're functioning with no boiler, I honestly don't.

Diege you should give BF a go this time I reckon, esp as he's your last
On that subject actually, I was telling Dh last night about Nat needing to test and he freaked! I asked him if he intended to get the snip anytime soon and he said he'd go this week to make an appt
So thanks go to Nat for finally shifting my very reluctant Dh to getting snipped.
Hope you're not too worried Nat

glaskham · 16/05/2009 11:26

Ses- i did write a massive message to you but then MN crashed and wouldn't work for over an hour... Your doign a fab job... I personally think you should just keep BF DS as much as he wants to be fed, scrap the expressing and the listing times of feeds and nappy's etc!!

IDOB- have a nice time in London!!

I've not done much in the last hour while waiting for MN to come back on... danced round the living room with DS & DD1, fed DD2, changed DD2's bum, put some washing in the dryer and sorted the DC's shoes out...

sorkycakey · 16/05/2009 11:29

Woooohooooooo!!!!
Fucking fantastic news.....ahem, sorry for French, but yay

Diege I love it, it's the height of cheese

Diege · 16/05/2009 11:32

good idea SORKY! The Story of Nat should send the most resistant of dh's to the snip clinic
Like the reverse honk Nat
And you are all philostines about the Eurovision - have you tried watching and scoring, it's great!

glaskham · 16/05/2009 11:33

I'm going to see about being sterilised in the next few weeks, at my 6wk check i was told to wait another 3 mths and go back and can have it done!!

Sorky- we've got enough newborn really, she's currently in the 'new baby' sized clothes, which are a little smaller than newborn which is normally up to about 10lb... so hopefully she'll grow fast and not be in the newborn for too long, she's got a handful of sleepsuits and vests and about 10 outfits so we'll be fine i'm sure... I made a point of not getting too much clothing as DD had way too much and most things only got worn the once when she was tiny- i have a passion for buying girls clothes so restricted myself to just a few very nice outfits that she can wear more than once!! Thanks for thinking of me though...

On the subject of clothes its lucky we did get some small/new baby sized things just in case as its saved us money since she was born in not needing to go out buying them!! Never bought them with the other 2, and dont know why i did this time, but they have all been used!! Its a nightmare taking 3 kids out shopping for clothes so the 0-3 will help tons so i wont need to drag them all out getting them!! doubt i'll be used to taking all 3 out on my own for a while yet still... i actualyl avoid it right now!!

sorkycakey · 16/05/2009 11:34

How do you score Diege?
Do you compete with Dh to see who is more accurate?

glaskham · 16/05/2009 11:35

i've triedwatching diege but i just end up laughing at the cheesy ones... i mean there was onethe other year with a foreign bloke singing and the dancers were all young girls in school uniform doing sexy stuff- what was that about??

glaskham · 16/05/2009 11:36

my typing isawful... though i am one handed- DD2 is asleep on my chest, so can't even see the keyboard fully as slouched in my chair!!

sorkycakey · 16/05/2009 11:38

I'll give the newborn to someone else then G, glad to help . How've you managed to avoid taking all 3 out?

sorkycakey · 16/05/2009 11:39

God I'll never last til this afternoon, I'm dying to know that test result NOW!!!

So last night, in desperation at the lack of sleep caused by the 12 week growth sprint she's having, I searched the mumsnet archives for a solution.
Turns out a few have had success with swaddling. I have one of those daft swaddling blankets from Mothercare (2 in fact) stuffed under the cot.

She fed at 7pm last night and had a 15 minute nap and then poo'd. I changed her but she wouldn't go back to sleep, hence the pacing the floor by Dh and me frantically searching for a solution.
I dug out the swaddle blanket, trussed her up (by which time it was 8.45pm) and put her in her crib (which she won't sleep in)
She twisted on for about 20-30 seconds then fell fast asleep

I woke up in a puddle of milk at 1.30am, which is when she would normally wake for the night feeding, but she was flat out.
At 5am she started to stir and fed one side, burped and went back to sleep until 7am

She then had a 45 minute nap from 8.45 til 9.30am
I've just fed her at 10.30 which means she's gone 3 hours between feeds. The longest period during the day ever

In summary, swaddling does the trick for non-sleeping babies, well mine at least

glaskham · 16/05/2009 11:41

well i just dont go out unless i need to... if i go out shopping itake someone with me- mum/sister/DH, if i'm going to mums itsacross therd for the bus and round the corner to my mums at the other end... the only time i actually take all 3 out on my own really is to nursery and back!! DS has become a nightmare for running off further than i allow since i've had DD2, so the sling helps with having both hands free... but he scares me sometimes!!

Diege · 16/05/2009 11:41

Point taken GLASK, but like with everything is life there are always a few rubbish ones. I do think the positives outweigh the negatives though!
SORKY, yes, it's all in the compeitition! We usually have friends over who are also given score cards (I always have a strop because they don't take it seriously enough and talk over the songs). Just me and dh tonight, and the score cards (printed off the net) have sections for 'song quality', 'performance' and 'dance/outfits'. You total up at the end (out of 30) which gives you your top 5, which can then be compared to the actual top 5. Hours of fun for all the family!

lardybump · 16/05/2009 11:43

Well i am in bed so not expressing DS feeds every two hours in the day so dont think it will make a huge difference..

Yay to you nat so pleased for you. Shame about the knicks though....

Right off now to sleep...........the little bugger he is waking up already no no I say!!!

glaskham · 16/05/2009 11:45

diege- i didn't even realise it was tonight- i may actually watch it all now...

I did watch it one night when i wa sout clubbing but only because it was on in the bar!! That was years ago and i was bladdered , so dont remember it!!

sorkycakey · 16/05/2009 11:46

This could be an interesting night in!

glaskham · 16/05/2009 11:47

PMSL sorky... may even have a go at score cards too... but DH would never join in!! he'd sit taking the p* outta me!!

lardybump · 16/05/2009 11:48

PMSL sorky....

sorkycakey · 16/05/2009 11:48

Ooh Diege I challenge to a wagon euro-via comp, whatdya say?

Diege · 16/05/2009 11:48

Yes, we could see who scores highest on the wagon

sorkycakey · 16/05/2009 11:50

Well my first thought was a norty style score system with forfeits for who scored less, but I'm more excited at a wagon score-off

glaskham · 16/05/2009 11:50

oh diege- i'm never a synic... just a but confused at what all the fuss is!! i'm wondering if its too late to arrange a eurovision party may find someone who'd score with me...

sorkycakey · 16/05/2009 11:52

We that's me n Dh having norty scoring NOT me n Diege, just to clear that up hehe x

glaskham · 16/05/2009 11:55

i just read that and wondered what you'd meant... sure you should be doing norty things before the snip?? ... Nats 'scare' has made me think twice about it before i'm doctored!! haha!!

SesIsNowCountingdownthedays · 16/05/2009 11:56

MW been. His weight has stayed what it was on Thurs. Not a disaster but just need to get as much in him as I can before Mon when another MW will be back.

Nat - phew!! (And PMSL at reverse honk!)

Used to watch eurovision but not so much in last few years. Doesn't it clash with BGT??!

sorkycakey · 16/05/2009 11:56

I'm on the pill until he gets the all clear.

How about a wagon comp then?
