Hi everyone else!

We've had a great day, had our NCT reunion lunch with the teacher. Went to a pub and sat there for ages chatting. We also took some pics of the babies, mums and dads. There are some pics on FB

Come on Ses, MINM, I want a new FB baby to arrive!!

Morning,

Ses, Pack that bag!!!! Free lunch sounds good!!!

MINM, How exciting, it sounds like things are starting soon!!

Tink, I love the bedroom. It is so cool!! I have to say that DD1 looks so like you it is unbelievable!!

GYo, Glad you had a good reunion. Sounds like fun!!

Last night was awful. At 10 to 1 somehow one of DS1's toys went off. It is a musical train and it moved from one side of the room to next to DS1's bed. DH checked and DS1 was asleep!! Then DS2 woke up at half 3 and went back to sleep when I went to get his bottle. Then he woke at half 6. I want my sleeping through baby back!!!

Hope you are all enjoying the bank holiday!

GYo · 04/05/2009 10:02

Morning Kayz

thats weird when toys go off like that. Weve got a music thing that suddenly goes off when your not expecting it, its quite freaky

Tired today so not up to much.

Diege · 04/05/2009 10:55

Morning! Kayz, sympathies on noisey toys in middle of night - we had the same a few years ago with princess and the pauper singing barbies - quite creepy, esp when batteries were going. Sounds like ds2 isn't wakinbg from hunger anymore - I'd let him cry a bit or offer some cooled boiled water first (not that you're looking for advice ).
LB, hope you have an ok day. Even housework when you're shattered can be knackering.
TINKS, have a good day with your frineds and mum.
MIM, if you are out there hoping things are ok - did the period pains develop into anything I wonder?
GYO, sounds a great NCT meet-up - pub always a good venue
Hope everyone is ok - quite grey and dull here, no plans as such other than the usual 'to do' list!

SesIsNowCountingdownthedays · 04/05/2009 12:22

Just about to go off to the pezzas ("affectionate" name me and my brother have for mum and dad!) Hoping for a good feed

Weather not so good here today either but DH has still been out in the garden this morning!

Did anyone else watch BGT this weekend? The guy at the end made me cry
He was sooo nervous and with a few lessons could have a fantastic voice.

Getting into bed last night seemed such a huge effort and then once I had laid down with all appropriate pillows I started to get really bad radiating back pain to the extent where I wondered if all was about to kick off. Was debating getting TENS machine and after about 15 mins, decided that was what I needed. As soon as I moved it all stopped though!!

sorkycakey · 04/05/2009 13:36

I've done it!
I've hauled myself into the 21st century and bought an g3 iphone

Don't know anyone who I'll be ringing and will possibly take me 3 years to work the bloody thing, but I've done it nonetheless.

Hope everyone is well

and hurray and have a baby won't one of you...it's been ages!

Diege · 04/05/2009 14:39

Hi SES! Hope you are enjoying a good scran as we say in the North Pains sound like things may be very slowly starting, though is different for everyone. Yes, love BGT - agree, shy man had great voice. Looking forward to what the favourites will do with in the next round. Couldn't believe saxaphone voice man got through - sounded more like a kazoo!
SORKY, have to admit I don't know anything about the phone you mention, though sounds expensive and very 'down with the kidz' as Piers Morgan would say

tinkishappy · 04/05/2009 16:30

i luv bgt

we had a good time with friends mum is busy sanding walls in brackens room. have decided on pretty pink for the walls
oh ses hopefully not long for you
sorky - my friend has i-phone it looks good can acess internet when out and about

Starshinetiger · 04/05/2009 16:30

LB - boo to bad night's sleep - same here - DD just wouldn't settle. On a positive note, we got a clock this week for DS, which has an awake and an asleep bunny on it - yesterday we put him back to bed at 5.30am, saying "bunny is not awake yet" then he didn't get up until 6.45am (bunny wakes up at 6.30am). Today, DH heard him stirring at 6.10am, but he didn't come in until 6.45am (DH pub clock back 15 mins), saying "bunny is awake now"! - hope it will continue - he has dropped his nap and he really needs the sleep overnight. So, if it continues, just DD to sort out!
Just caught a sneaky nap in the car with both DC (DH was in the house) - both fell asleep in car on way home from our local Playbarn. Right, ought to get dinner ready for cooking while DD is asleep - hope she wakes up soon and then will be ready for going down at a decent hour tonight.

HELP

DS has been really sick today all day... Very upset as well crying when ever I put him down... I have just changed his nappy and he has really green poo... It is grass green so very obvious...

What is wrong??? Is this a sign of anything??

sorkycakey · 04/05/2009 17:44

green poo is a sign of milk imbalance, specifically he's drinking too much foremilk and not enough hindmilk.

babies not getting enough hindmilk feed very frequently and often cry n fuss at the breast. they can seem to be feeding all the time but not gaining weight.
the foremilk is like a drink, the hindmilk like the high calorie food which fills their tummies and enables them to go for longer between feeds.

keep him on the same side until he does that slow deep sucking LB, or express an ounce or 2 off first then put him on. should take about 24 hours for his poo's to go orange again and for your milk too adjust in supply.

if you need me you can just email and I'll send you my number

sorkycakey · 04/05/2009 17:46

ooh sorry about that

lardybump · 04/05/2009 17:52

He is snacking today and like you say he is very fussy at the breast... Right I will express an ounce off before each feed then, thanks sorky I was really scared when I changed him....

sorkycakey · 04/05/2009 17:58

Do you drink a lot of tea/coffee LB?

I ask because Dd2 is really fussy if I drink more than 2/3 cups a day, so I've switched to Chamomile tea and she seems to be lot better atm. I think the caffeine was unsettling her

If he pulls off the breast before you think he's had enough of the hindmilk (he doesn't need much hindmilk to have a satisfying feed) then you could burp him and put him back on that side.

Dd2 gets a lot of wind too if she's not getting enough hindmilk too. Her poo this morning was greeny too because she fed every hour last night. She was feeding every hour because she wasn't getting the hindmilk. She had the quantity, but not the quality

sorkycakey · 04/05/2009 17:58

yes it is rather shocking when you see green poo

SesIsNowCountingdownthedays · 04/05/2009 18:00

Hi! Back from Mum's and had roast turkey followed by cheesecake and trifle!! Think she definitely had the guilts!!

LB - glad Sorky was about with help. Hopefully that'll do the trick.
How was the beach yesterday?

Star - that clock sounds really cute as well as really useful

Diege - never heard that phrase - good scran! Guessing it means a good feed?

Sorky - I have an i-phone. It's main use is lurking on MN!! I know there's loads of stuff that it could do that I don't use it for though!

sorkycakey · 04/05/2009 18:04

I'm going to be heavily reliant on my 15yo nephew to show me how to use it.
I've only just mastered predictive text so this feels like a leap into the abyss to be quite frank.

Ses tell your baby to hurry up! It feels like yonks since we had a wagon baby ;)
Glad you're feeling well

Diege · 04/05/2009 18:09

SES, cheesecake and trife ; yes def a top scran there! Just think how sustained you'll be if you go into labour tonight
STAR, that clock sounds excellent. Will be be tempted to put it forward 5 mins a night until he's waiting until 7.30 to get up??
SORKY/LB, that's really interesting about the green poo. I had it constantly with dd1 who snacked every 40 mins or so (at best), but she was putting on weight so wasn;t too concerned. I think at the time the 'fashion' was to put to the breast every time babies cried, consequently she would fall asleep after 5 mins or so of sucking as she had no structured naps, and also awoke very hungry as she wasn't getting the hind milk I suppose! As a result of this, dds2 and 3 were bottlefed and straight onto GF!
Right, gearing up for bedtime thank god! Dds watching home alone 2, dh at MIL , and I've got a kitchen that looks like it's been broken into to clean. At least I don't have my 5.30am start tomorrow!

lardybump · 04/05/2009 19:41

Sorky if you are still there, how can I encourage DS to feed for longer? The only feed he seems to take really well is the last one of the day. I never swap breasts because he never seems to want a top up once he finishes and some feeds he is only one for 5 mins...
