Congratulations to Lauren!!!! See, we knew there was a baby in there really.

brettgirl2 · 28/04/2009 13:43

Lauren is pretty spectacular - she sent a text about her baby's birth before she had even had her stitches in the delivery room . It didn't occur to me when I read it earlier.

Well Hannah won't stop crying and DH is in a foul mood, so I am not having much fun here right now. On the positive side - she is gorgeous most of the time!

In terms of the sweeps - everything crossed. I went into labour the day after a sweep, so hopefully someone else will too!

Someone was asking about clots - I had one very large one (egg sized ) I asked MW about it and she said that sometimes blood collects in a corner somewhere and it is expelled as the uterus contracts. She didn't seem too worried as I wasn't bleeding loads, wasn't in pain and she couldn't feel anything out of the ordinary.

Surprise, Evie is lovely and I am very jealous of your figure at 35 weeks. I bet you're even more glamorous now! [gtin]

Thanks Boff - glamorous is not a word I'd use right now I can see me wearing PJ bottoms for a while!!

Evie still hasn't had a poo Paediatrician phoned this morning and said she's ok to go another couple of days. In her notes it said she has had her bowels open after birth and meconium seen but I'm sure she hasn't.

surprisenumber3 · 28/04/2009 14:07

Surprise, your baby is really beautiful...
Actually, all our babies are gorgeous. Must be that summer sex we all indulged in. Makes for a good crop!
Alex was conceived on July 14th, can't get much more French than that, now, can you?

BB, I'm pleased that it seems that the ceiling & bathroom's not such a mammoth task as it first appeared.

Bleu, I forgot all about the bottom spray - all that laughing at it & I never bought any. I can't help but feel I should've done! Next time, definitely

I was wondering that too, Boff - about the postnatal thread. I don't want to scare anyone who's left. I must stress that for all my moaning & difficulties with The Devil Child(TM), I do absolutely adore him & wouldn't change anything for the world. I'd hate to think that anyone still waiting (especially first timers, like my lovely buddy frekkles) were worried that they'd regret it... It really doesn't work like that, I promise. & frekkles, I've had about half a million stitches & 2.5 weeks off sex - but I'm back on the horse (so to speak ) & although it's still slightly uncomfortable for me, it's good enough to balance it out - & I'm assured that it doesn't feel any different for him. You KNOW you're slightly cheered by the idea of non-pregnant sex, frekkles

soon2be, I've expressed 3 bottles so far, but there doesn't seem to be any problem with confusion whatsoever. George has always been a very good feeder with an immediate latch - I think I'd have been more wary if he'd been really struggling. I can easily express 1.5 - 2oz in one go without any problem at all (more if I make an effort) in addition to all of his feeds (& there are a lot!) & that seems to satisfy him for a while. I think you can get away with not giving so much anyway because it all hits their tummy at once & makes them feel fuller. Having said that, I really don't know how much a normal feed would be.

Congratulations fatandfedup Very pretty name

Ooh, ditto Lauren - see, it did happen!

Schulte, George chokes a lot as well - I just sit him up & pat his back & he's fine

Auld, another lovely message - you all make me so proud to be part of this group. You're all amazing women & I'd not be coping without you! xx

Yay Sarah! It really is the last few bits of popcorn now, all popping together. I can't wait to read all of the stories & see the pictures.

Auld & surprise - what gorgeous babies you have! We're obviously a genetically fantastic group

SpringySponge · 28/04/2009 14:53

purlease, what a lovely, big baby

Auld, I don't think that piles would interfere, unless you were hoping to take the less conventional approach I suppose if they're particularly bad they may hinder sex if he's behind (& not be particularly attractive in doggy style or whatever) but for missionary & whatever, I think it'd be fine. I've had quite bad piles & managed

The sex today was odd. It's a little bit scary thinking that I could get pregnant - that's the only good thing about already being pregnant! I really hate condoms but we're yet to sort out any other contraception (or his antibiotics for that infection!) so we have little choice at the moment. It hurt a bit at first, but not much - & I don't think that it would have if I'd not been so injured during labour (I've not actually fully healed, but I'm impatient!), but it was good enough & so lovely being so close & intimate that it was totally worth it.

DH was really concerned about hurting me at first & kept asking if I was okay & if I wanted him to stop (erm, NO?!), & kept reassuring me that it still felt really good for him & that it was like I'd never been pregnant. He was also very pleased to see me naked ("I've seen PREGNANT Springy naked, but not YOU naked for nearly a year!") & made me feel all lovely & sexy, which considering I gave birth 2.5 weeks ago is impressive. I feel a lot better now, emotionally more than anything - it's so nice to have been able to be that close with him again.

MegBusset · 28/04/2009 14:56

Congrats Lauren and Gingersarah! Am very . And hooray for all the beautiful babies.

Well, I had a stretch & sweep this morning (at the hospital in the end, as my midwife wanted a second opinion because the baby was measuring big -- the doc at the hospital didn't seem concerned at all, though). So far has done nothing other than leave me with a somewhat bruised cervix, so we'll see.

Induction is booked for Thursday, I will 'only' be term+10 but Friday is fully booked, they don't induce on the weekend and they don't want to leave it til next week. Really hope things get going before then!

Re: the post-natal discussions. Doesn't bother me as it's second time around and I have BTDT with the sore boobs and sleepless nights! So I will leave it to the first-timers to decide...

BabyBolat · 28/04/2009 14:56

Ah springy how on earth did you have sex when george wont let you put him down!! Am soo still not got the courage to go 'all the way' as such!

CONGRATULATIONS GINGERSARAH! Auld Purlease and Surprise - beautiful babies!

So karahan is really suffering today - he is really snuffly and it's disrupting his feeds and sleep so I have a very very grumpy child! Have already had one warm bath and will give him another one tonight - also his nappy rash just doesn't seem to budge - not getting worse or better just there! I really don't think it hurts him as you can touch it and he is happy enough in himself all day just worrying for me I think.

The whole dining room ceiling is down and carpet has had first clean (one of three) and looks much better in there already my house does look horrendous though!
