Hope no one minds I gave Nutty the vote after her epic birth!

I used earth mama angel baby bottom spray with my 'cut' after each toilet session and it really didn't hurt much.

bronze · 27/04/2009 19:26

nutty- oh that made me giggle. My boobs very much appreciated the sentiments even if a real hug hurts like....

Bleuravin · 27/04/2009 19:26

I was on antiboitics for what they thought was mastitis... and that helped with getting rid of some of the pain (that which was stingy).
So how would they find out if I had thrush?

LJ29 · 27/04/2009 19:28

Ladies, sorry for butting in! I'm on the September thread but notice that a few of you are having probs with thrush. I had this with both my DCs and bought Daktarin from the pharmacy over the counter. Its an oral gel which you can put on your nipples to treat you and then put more on to let baby suck from you and treat the inside of his mouth. hope this helps

I get a deep shooting pain when he latches on its excrutiating and though it eases off slightly once hes on its still agony. I also get itchy breast as hes feeding.

~You can also sometimes get white patches on your nipple and or in babies mouth. Scrape the tongue gently. If the white comes off its milk if it doesnt its thrush. Isaac doesnt have this though.

Apparently your nipples can also be red and shiny though mine seem to be a sort or transluscent white

bronze · 27/04/2009 19:31

thanks LJ29
was wondering about treating him. Luckily it doesnt seem to bother him so its just treatment to stop the cycle.

Juwesm · 27/04/2009 19:33

Hugo also had to have some resusc. I was horrified when I read my notes and found that the 'paediatrician' who did it was only an SHO. I would have hoped for at least a registrar! But she was clearly capable of doing the job, so don't know what my problem is! Just that I've known a lot of SHOs who I wouldn't want near a broken leg, let alone a floppy baby.

Did everyone else have full access to their notes post-delivery? Mine were all part of my patient-held mat notes, so I was able to bring them home and have a thorough read. They've only disappeared to be filed today since MW discharged me, and she nicely said she would photocopy the labour bit for me, so I have a copy to look back at if I need to.

Bleuravin · 27/04/2009 19:34

Hmmm deep shooting but then easing but still agony CHECK
no itchy breasts though...
will check Meg's mouth for whiteness which doesn't come off...
none on me, though my nipples are a bit red and shiny...

Bleuravin · 27/04/2009 19:36

I couldn't read my notes; the handwriting was atrocious!

Juwesm · 27/04/2009 19:37

Bleu - I'm lucky to have had lots of practise!

Juwesm · 27/04/2009 19:43

Not weird Nutts - I did the same.

LJ29 · 27/04/2009 19:43

Bleu, shiny nipples were definitely a symptom of thrushh for me. Also felt like I had needles scratching me under the skin.

MegBusset · 27/04/2009 19:45

Hello all, just checking in. Not many of us left to pop now... I'm having a sweep in the morning if nothing happens overnight!

PuzzleRocks · 27/04/2009 19:46

I have to pay £25 to get a copy of my notes.

Separate notes.

frekkles · 27/04/2009 20:24

hey conker and meg, glad you're still about and still occupied x but I know what you mean conker, I sometimes feel like might have to stop reading this thread for a while as it's just making me worry at the moment, worry about giving birth, worry about not giving birth in time and then worry about breast feeding, sleepless nights and all that. I can't decide whether it's helping me feel prepared or scaring me?

frekkles · 27/04/2009 20:29

got to keep feeling positive though.

lots of love to you all x hope you all get lots of love and cuddles and sleep and sunshine tonight and tommorow x
