Bonjour

Had friend with toddler round yesterday and the toddler was coughing quite badly - she insisted it was only a side effect of the MMR vaccine but I don't believe that so am a bit worried and also a bit . I did keep Hazel in the other room though - do you think she'll be fine?

Pass the Lansinoh then

Hooray for May babies, what a lovely month to be born in!

frekkles · 01/05/2009 08:36

ooops i forgot to have a baby! again!

i'm with you conker . except i've not been able to dare looking at the thread incase you've popped and it's just me. i'm the latest in my antenatal folk too.

och well, happy beltane all for yesterday and happy first day of summer and white rabbits and all.

going into labourwise , fuck knows really. no show, no leaks, been having irregular tightenings that don;t particularly hurt and feel a bit buzzy on and off for days , occassional crampy period pain stuff and sometimes my pelvis hurts to walk and i have to waddle. but then last night i was out at the beltane festival here in edinburgh till 1am, runing about, bump really high , no pain atall, barely even felt i was pregnant really.

tis a myth i reckon. pah.

but sunny day. going to go out and enjoy it x

frekkles · 01/05/2009 09:14

AND I've been taking raspberry leaf tablets, walking and bouncing everyday, swimming, climbing hills, been having sex atleast once a day and giving blow jobs, eating numerous spicy meals, burning clarysage and jasmine, staying happy, stimulating my nipples, talking to the baby, holding new borns and all sorts.

but i won't get annoyed no point in that i know. but on here I may let out a quiet little

"aaaaaaaaaaaaagh"

hope you're all well and your babes are small, smily and suckly x

BabyBolat · 01/05/2009 09:24

schultes sure she will be fine x at your friends silliness though!

frekkles you are obviously just too good a home for the LO!!

Juw - me too - feel like a milking machine

Conker - very frustrating

Do wither of you have induction dates?

Nutty, I don't want to lose halfmy barnet! I don't remember signing that form when I agreed to this baby thing!

BB, I'll believe that you're younger than DH - millions wouldn't Glad you found your Lansinoh.

WFH, I hope that you mention DP's participation in the Poolympics over dinner with all of his friends or something. If they're in your house, you're not breaking any rules Great that DS1's phobia is being overcome by such silliness

Ju, nice suggestion to FIL - if you don't ask, you don't get!

soon2be, what you've said about childcare is really interesting. I was thinking I'd put George in the uni nursery, but your point about very small children is a good one.

My story of how I met DH is really unromantic & convoluted. Technically it was on the internet, on another forum. He was engaged at the time & was going to move in with his fiancée in a house that was near to where Gary Barlow lives - he knew I love Take That & every time he saw me post he'd tell me about how he was going to live next door to Gary Barlow That was about the extent of our conversation (apart from me occasionally telling him to get lost ) until we met at a BBQ at a mutual friend's house. I was there with my ex, but he'd just split up with his fiancée. Apparently if I'd been single 'something would've happened that day'. Cocky git. I did find him quite attractive, though - & remember engaging in an animated discussion about crumpets (?!) with him.

He ended up going out with that mutual friend for a few months & in that time I broke up with my ex & rebounded at another mutual friend, who is still one of our best friends & was here on Wednesday, even Because all 4 of us knew each other, we spent a fair bit of time in each other's company, even though we were scattered around the Midlands / Yorkshire / Cumbria.

DH was doing a part-time uni course in Cambridge & to get from there to where he lived, he had to change trains in Birmingham, so I'd meet him for a drink & a chat every so often. There was an awkward moment when I hugged him goodbye once, when we both felt like there was going to be a kiss, but knew that we couldn't. That was the first time I'd ever really thought about him like that.

Those relationships ended independently of each other & DH came to visit me in Brum 'as a friend', staying over in a hotel. His cunning plan was to get me drunk & see what happened. In reality, we were in the hotel room for about 20 minutes before a playfight turned into tickling, which turned into sex Incidentally, he was the first man to ever make me orgasm & I was so impressed that I told him there & then that I was going to have to marry him

frekkles, it's nice that you're being positive enough to still enjoy the sunshine (& having lots of sex! )

SpringySponge · 01/05/2009 10:21

Haha, good luck Nutty

MegBusset · 01/05/2009 10:21

Birth story here.

Pic on profile

DS2 slept well last night so feel quite rested. In fact he's done little but sleep since we came home! Experience tells me it won't last, so making the most of it...

BabyBolat · 01/05/2009 10:41

meg what a beautiful little boy - well done you!!!

OP posts:
conkertree · 01/05/2009 10:53

great birth story meg - just what I like to hear - pain but not toooo much and gas and air working - all good encouraging news.

had a bath with clary sage this morning but ds kept insisting on coming in and putting his bath ducks etc in for me, so not the most relaxing. then he tipped a hot cup of hot chocolate over me which I'd been balancing on the side while i put in more hot water, so now have rather painful skin too - gave up on the bath at that point and decided to forget i am meant to have a baby at some point.

induction booked for 7th may but reaaaaaallllly hope i dont go to that as dh's birthday is 8th and i really wanted to avoid them having the same day if possible - but nothing else i can do really - like frekkles have tried the walks (when the stabbing pains arent around), sex, rlt, curry, clary sage etc etc etc and think i just have to accept there is not much else i can do other than stay active when my pelvis isnt too sore.

anyway - sorry another me me me post. must stop doing them. am off to go and look at a steam train with ds as he is starting to drive dh and i a little crazy being inside.

Schulte · 01/05/2009 10:55

Ahhhh Meg, how cute! Congratulations and well done with the birth!

Question to everyone... when did your LOs wake up from their newborn slumber? Hazel seems VERY alert today, woke up at 6am and has only had two half hour snoozes since. At the moment she's lying in her cot quite happily and looking around but I know it won't last and she'll want cuddles soon. This is where the hard work starts isn't it? As far as I remember?

Schulte · 01/05/2009 10:59

Hmmm, Conker, hot chocolate sounds like a great idea! Off to make one... DH and DD1 have left to get the car washed so will have to look after myself for a change

conkertree · 01/05/2009 11:01

just make sure there isnt a toddler around who likes to pick up anything with liquid in and tip it out schulte - i really should know better by now than to leave things lying around but he is very quick.

Well done on the tops though Nutty! I have managed to squeeze into two of my skirts but have to leave the zip undone. Good job it's summer because trousers would be completely hopeless. I am still keeping some of the maternity ones just in case! My favourite outfit at the moment are pj bottoms and a t-shirt though

PuzzleRocks · 01/05/2009 11:48

No way am I going near my wardrobe. I'm still 2 stone over my pre-pregnancy weight.

soon2befamilyof4 · 01/05/2009 12:03

I feel a bit bad now about what I said about nurseries. Don't want to have confused you all even further. .

I am off to look up about one sided feeding. Don't know much about it but we are fine if we feed from my right side but have all sorts of problems on my left.

I have been thinking I should go onto the Wii fit to see how much weight I have lost since I was pregnant (as in through childbirth not dieting!). I wore size 14 non maternity jeans the other day but to be fair, they were low rise ones that would have gone "under bump" sort of thing

BabyBolat · 01/05/2009 12:09

yay for tops nutty - think that is pretty normal - I still can't get in to any but one pair of pre-pregnancy trousers and I gave birth way before you - My hips, thighs, and tops of my arms have suffered the most - tummy is going down pretty quick!

ouch for hot chocolate conker!!!

schultes the past week kara has been awake a lot in the day - lasts about 30 mins by himself then needs attention!

mine is pretty slutty too nutts - will just put kara down then get typing!!

hey hey...... well just seen midwife and she assaulted me with two fingers and some ky jelly, apparently i've a bishops score of seven, cervix soft, 50% effaced and admits 2 fingers easily...... anyone translate?

She wanted to book my induction for next friday, which is my ex's birthday. I so didn't want that, so I delayed it till the monday (11th) which will make me 17 days over, which I think is OK. Got to go in for monitoring next thursday too which I'm happy with too.

walked home and now I've have a bloody show and have a very sore back and tummy. ho hum. let's see eh?

any opinions?
