Hope no one minds I gave Nutty the vote after her epic birth!

Ju, my thighs & bum have every award up to the Victoria Cross

I have nothing to do either. Nothing.

SpringySponge · 30/04/2009 11:46

Arf. How could I forget about the design genius that are the Hooter Hiders?

Schulte · 30/04/2009 11:52

Ha ha Springy as long as you don't have a crush on Margaret

BF in public... I did it in the pub yesterday and since I am a completely shameless person, I just pull my t-shirt up and open the bra and off we go. If anyone is offended, they can flippin' well look away no? DH did seem to think I was enjoying it rather too much though as he saw me squeeze some milk out of my nipples after the feed to rub in and he asked if that was REALLY necessary to which the answer is yes, actually

I bfed DD1 like that for over 9 months and no one ever gave me funny looks.

Bleuravin · 30/04/2009 11:53

that's my hope Springy, that her mouth will get bigger (but issue less screams)

Bleuravin · 30/04/2009 11:58

I cannot just whip up my shirt with my dad around... I may do with dh and strangers... but not my dad...

AuldAlliance · 30/04/2009 11:58

Ju,one person did make an offer, but then withdrew it as she'd apparently been hoping to haggle.
TBH, the owner is asking far too much. She was originally after 260,000 euros and has lowered it to 220,000, but has failed to note that the housing market in France has crashed dramatically, and that her house is located on a square that is charming 90% of the time and awful 10%, which is enough to put people off. It's also North-facing and gloomy and has 4 roooms spread over 4 levels. Not dead handy.
Estate agents are so desperate for a sale that I think they are overstating the delights of the place. As for the idea that it's a 3-bedroom house because if you don't mind mildew you could put a bed in the garage, that's just downright dishonest!
I was trying to work out today how many viewers have been round, but couldn't.

Springy, it does sometimes feel that it is one thing after another, but I am trying to be positive and forget the idea that I am jinxed. Was selfishly looking forward to a lie-in tomorrow, as DS1 always wakes us and I think Alex would sleep longer if left to do so.
Still, will be nice to have the long weekend with DH (though MIL arrives on Sun and I am stressing about it already).

AuldAlliance · 30/04/2009 12:01

BB, if it's any consolation, I have very odd stretchmarks around my tummy button, like one of those ink splodges meant to look like butterflies (IYSWIM). The MW said she'd only ever seen anything like it on people who'd had their navel pierced. They appeared in the last 2 or 3 days of pregnancy. DH likes them. I hate them.

AuldAlliance · 30/04/2009 12:04

Oh, and if any of you know why my dishwasher is coating my dishes in thick, white stuff, can you step this way?
I do NOT have time to rewash and scrub the dishes with washing soda crystals every morning. Did it this morning instead of having a shower.
God, maybe I am jinxed.

SpringySponge · 30/04/2009 12:05

I do love Margaret, but I don't have a crush on her, no

& Schulte, that's another of those fantastic cultural things I'm with you on the 'they can look away' thing, though. & conversely, if they want to be weirdo perverts trying to get a glimpse of nork, then let them. It's the least sexy thing ever & if they're really so desperate that that's going to turn them on, then their lives are obviously empty enough for me to take pity on them & turn a blind eye

Auld, sometimes life just does that - I'm sure you've had times like this before. I suppose the only thing is to keep telling yourself that your luck has to change soon. How long's MIL staying for?

George just pulled a face & looked exactly like Bruce Willis. Except with more hair. I love this child.

Bleuravin · 30/04/2009 12:08

Oh, Poor Auld.

I can comiserate... as the contract job Dh got in the area supposed for 6 months at 25k for that time...is NOT a contract, but a probational 6 months to a permie job and only 25k for the whole year! He walked out...so once again we have no income... The agent mis-sold the job to us

AuldAlliance · 30/04/2009 12:08

Springy, MIL is only staying for 5 days. DH says I "terrorise" her, God knows why, so she's not staying as long as she would have done, I suspect.
Actually, now I come to think of it, it could be the way I speak to her through clenched teeth, she winds me up so much. No one else gets to me the way she does...

Love the fact that George has more hair than Bruce Willis!

AuldAlliance · 30/04/2009 12:10

Jeez, Bleu, your luck isn't great either, is it?
What about your plans for abroad? Nothing there? Come to Provence!

soon2befamilyof4 · 30/04/2009 12:10

Juw - The feeding not too bad today. I did give her a bottle of EBM in the night, and TBH I will probably carry that on till we are at the stage where I can just shove her on boob without thinking. I get so over tired that when I wake in the night I can't think straight and have no patience or pain tollerance. Was SO much easier to give her the bottle (I jsut expressed it very late at night and kept it at room temp and fed like that so no heating or anything invloved so still didn't leave my bed. That plan wouldn't work with an early night though, although it only takes me 2-3 mins to express a feed anyway! So still quicker than going downstairs to heat up a bottle.

I also have 3 bottles in the freezer now as well as one in the fridge so if I get stuck, we have some of that before resorting to formula. Only thing is I was thinking - the milk is meant to change as baby gets older, yet it lasts 6 months in the freezer - so if I were to give this milk to Talia when she is 3 months old - would it be ok?

I am doing our passports today - it is so complicated! DHs was pretty straight forward - but for the DDs they want all grandparents details as me and DH were born after 1982!?! ARGH! It is giving me a head ache again!! Doesn't even say how many grandparents, or have a section to fill it in, you have to do it on a seperate bit of paper.

Bleuravin · 30/04/2009 12:11

Lol are there IT contracts in Provence? I could practice my French again.

AuldAlliance · 30/04/2009 12:11

Soon2be, I can't believe how old that makes me feel! Born after 1982???

AuldAlliance · 30/04/2009 12:12

Have no idea Bleu, I could ask... You could improve your French and we could compare baby screams.

Bleuravin · 30/04/2009 12:14

2-3 minutes to express a feed? Oh I wish that were me!

I would think that Talia would not find it wholy satisfiying later on..and would want more (as later feeds would have more hind milk and be richer overall)

Bleuravin · 30/04/2009 12:15

lol auld. Sounds lovely.

Got to go ladies Dh is home and needs the computer to apply for more jobs again!

SpringySponge · 30/04/2009 12:16

Bleu, sorry to hear about DH's job How very frustrating.

Auld, at you terrorising her. I hope you can find a way to put her to use seeing as she's insisting on landing herself on you. The last thing you need is another very irritating burden.

soon2be, that's really fast expressing! I'm both very impressed & a bit . It takes me more like 10-15 minutes. I don't find it difficult, but it is slow. To the point where I can't be bothered.

Bleu - my parents are coming to visit this weekend and I am equally about whipping my boobs out in front of Dad! I don't want to go upstairs to feed each time as I'll basically be living in the bedroom, and won't get to see my folks! I'd better practice being discreet!

Springy - Lol at your VC stretch marks.

Auld - ditto your Rorschach stretch blots! I have one of those navel piercing ones. Re: dishwasher - ?run it through on empty, or run a cycle with dishwasher cleaner in (or maybe vinegar ).

Schulte - love your DH thinking your having a quick nipple fondle in the pub !

Soon2be - very impressed by your speed expressing! I wonder if I should have a proper go.

Springy - are you giving George ebm, or are you expressing to up your supply?
