Ju, George has had the EBM. I've only done it 3 times - twice for DH to feed him / to give me a break late at night when I'm getting too tired, once for my parents so DH & I could go out for a meal alone . I still have to hand express a bit down the sink when he's due the feed anyway though, or my boobs feel like they'll explode!

Juw - glad I'm not alone with my Rorschach ink mark. Have you ever had your navel pierced?

DS1's friend is better, so will be heaving him and Alex into the car this evening and taking him to his sleepover after all.

Juwesm · 30/04/2009 12:58

Thanks Nutts - I tend to think of !!!s as the e-mail/ text equivalent of smiling. I should use more s!

Juwesm · 30/04/2009 13:02

Auld - yes, it's around the piercing. Think I should have removed the ring earlier in pg. Good news about sleepover - DS must be so pleased!

Yay for the sleepover! I am pleased, Auld

soon2befamilyof4 · 30/04/2009 13:12

With the quick expressing - I do usually spend 15 mins or so when I express so that I get a completly empty boob and get to the hind milk etc but I will have more than one feed to use iyswim. But if she is waiting to be fed, I will just express enough to fill her up there and then and then carry on.

BUT the downside is, I do have an over supply of milk, I am constantly overflowing as I started expressing the day after my milk came in. But I don't mind because last time, I found it easy at the start but once I got out of the routine of expressing, it was a lot harder to do. So even if all my feeding problems sort themselves out, I would still like to stay in the habit of expressing say once a day, so that I have the milk if I need it or want a break etc. I had HUGE problems at around 2-3 months because DD wouldn't take a bottle and it was a nightmare because I couldn't even pop out for half an hour incase she woke for a feed. Would have been nice to be able to let DH have her for a couple of hours while I got some sleep (She was an AWFUL sleeper) or to be able to pop to the shop on my own quickly etc. So I am paranoid about not taking a bottle, just as much as I worry about her not taking a boob!

I also can collect at least 1 oz in the Avent shells during a feed or expressing session if my boobs are reasonably full. That is a really good way of getting extra milk as there is no effort at all and safes the waste.

AuldAlliance · 30/04/2009 13:47

Juwesm, wonder if I had a piercing without knowing it?

DS is chuffed to bits.

MegBusset · 30/04/2009 13:49

yay meg - congratulations. good to know there are still babies being born and that we arent imagining these bumps.

Am quite keen on a May baby now so almost want this one to hold off for another 10 hours or so before coming.

Had a show today so moe progress but still no regular contractions. Wonder how frekkles is?

Auld - great that the sleepover can happen after all. guess the sellers will eventually have to just accept that it wont sell at that price before too long given the number of viewers who havent bought.

my tummy is covered in stretch marks but they all faded to almost nothing after ds so am assuming (hoping) the same will happen again this time.

surprisenumber3 · 30/04/2009 14:39

Hi all - just had a quick catch up.

CONGRATS MEG - wow, we've nearly all popped, finally!! SOOOO much has happened this past month

Well I have had my first poo and been on my first trip out all in one day am feeling rather good about it all!! Yesterday I felt awful, house was a mess, friends were coming round, I looked crap, felt crap, I almost cried every time I BF etc etc. BUT, Evie sleeps right through at night so at least I'm not too tired. Afterpains have gone, boobs are still hurting but loads better, I finally have some proper clothes on, and have been to Toys R Us and tidied the house. DH, bless him, has done all the washing and ironing. Oh..and it doesn't hurt to wee anymore!

Evie has really bad dry skin around her mouth, looks a bit like an allergy but can't think what it could be too - I have only put olive oil on it - could it be that? Anyone know anything else that is good?

Really wanted to take baby up to the school to show her off today but the weather here is torrential rain so DH will be going on his own again. I will get there one day!

BabyBolat · 30/04/2009 15:20

congratulations meg yaaaay!!!

soon2befamilyof4 · 30/04/2009 15:24

Suprise I have been using olive oil for DD2s dry skin - but it brought up a conversation the other day with step MIL (who has 3 under 5!) and she said she used extra virgin olive oil on her Ds3 and it brought him up in a big rash, but when she used normal cheap olive oil, it was fine.

I know I need to bath DD2 very soon, she is a week old tomorrow. But I don't want to! I hate bathing them when they are tiny and just scream and wriggle the whole time! I think I am going to have to bath with her, but I hate baths that arn't really hot!

soon2befamilyof4 · 30/04/2009 15:33

I am going to a BF group tomorrow - does anybody know what I should expect? I am a bit nervous about it TBH, I am not very good at asking for help!

BabyBolat · 30/04/2009 15:35

Auld yay for sleepover - bet ds is overjoyed!

good plan puzzle!

soon2be re passports dh and I were born in and after 1982 and we didn't have to do all that?!!

Nutty duck!! there is time - one month after it happened to me!!!!
