PMSL at marmitemonster's craving chips and DP producing frozen ones!

alfiesmadmother I'm same...no appetite, having to make myself eat... and trying to be healthy too... There are some snickers bars in the cupboard that I keep thinking about, bought them forgetting they had peanuts in and really want one...giant choc buttons will have to do (trying to ration at the mo tho consious effort to eat healthier!)

Oh dear marmite, frozen chips just won't do will they? Personally I think it's the vinegar thing for me which does it on the takeaway chips... I am craving pickle, which is something I craved last time (along with anything synthetic banana flavoured, but please no real bananas!).

sleepingalot I'm also trying to avoid the multipack of snickers in our fridge (MIL gave them to us last week 'because I didn't see you at Easter so ate your eggs'). Part of me thinks the peanut thing is a load of hocus pocus, but I avoided them absolutely with dd and so far, despite dp having asthma, hayfever and eczema, she has been ok... fingers crossed, so I feel like I ought to stick with it.

I am loving the way this thread has started to revolve almost entirely around food!

Satisfied marmitemonster? Were the chips good afterall?

Think I'll leave the snickers for DH...may keep him away from my Giant Choc buttons.

oh poor you marmitemonster go with *londonlottie's' idea. Send DP to shop... hide all your loo rolls and pretned you have run out, then you can send him for some...and of couse some crumpets...and maybe some malt vinegar!!!

sleepingalot · 07/06/2009 16:41

...and apparently, I can't spell either!

alfiesmadmother · 07/06/2009 17:05

Red wine vinegar, aaagh!!!! How about lots of melted cheese?? Cheddar of course.

I must be weird. Usually start to feel less sick at about 10pm and yes I also want chip shop chips with beans and curry sauce Have been known to want a crisp and salad cream sandwich too.

I hate not wanting to eat because my life revolves around food. I haven't gained weight but know normally I would have lost it, swollen boobs are making up for it, and my jeans are loose, but I am sure I will doubly make up for it when I grow later.

sleepingalot, I am trying to eat but it makes me even sicker and the other night I threw up the whole contents of my stomach after attemting to eat a meal with DH. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

As for the sex, I don't want to do it, i just think about it a lot and if george clooney landed on my doorstep......oooh off to dream!

skidoodle · 07/06/2009 19:32

PMSL @ you guys what a tonic to read an entire afternoon of food-related rambling.

marmite I am seriously worried about your DH - the very idea that oven chips doused in red wine vinegar are an acceptable foodstuff in any circumstance, never mind an appropriate substitute for a very specific pregnancy craving is slightly unhinged

As for them being "market leaders" LOL

It is our cotton wedding anniversary today. I nearly got dh a really nice shirt but then decided we were too skint and got a very posh pair of socks, making it our 70% cotton anniversary

Also have the idea of an otherwise normal looking woman sitting in a restaurant poking at her boobs stuck in my head. Tee hee

Glad to be sharing this rather stressful journey with such bonkers ladies

sazlocks · 07/06/2009 19:36

evening all - all I want is carbs, carbs and more carbs. We are having left over lovely french onion quiche with mash (!!) tonight. YUM YUM
LOL at marmitemonster DP and his oven chips. My DH is exactly the same. But when you need chips you need proper stodgy, squidgy chips not those healthy imitations.
Still feeling ropey - been out with two different sets of friends this weekend which we ended up telling as otherwise my random retching (nice!) ,yawning and general bloatedness would have been a bit telling. All delighted for us and crossing their fingers as we speak.

ampster · 07/06/2009 20:18

wow, what a lot to catch up with!

marmitemonster so glad to hear your stomach was a perfectly rounded preggie-bump which then went small, as that's exacly what mine did last week! i told boyfriend that clearly the foetus had been reabsorbed (!) and he believed me. he's not very bright, the poor poppet (cute though). however constant knicker checking (glad we're all at it) seems to show that it's still in there for now. fingers crossed...

anniemac re: coats the ebay leopardskin vintage swing coat sounds gorgeous, got a link? i promise not to snipe it! the IO one has been sent back. even if it did look good when i was massively pregnant, the only way i could justify the price (£120) was to say i would wear it if i was not pg. might spend the money on a sewing machine instead - make my own coats. (as if!)

glad to see some people are in south london - i lived in camberwell and then east dulwich for five years so know all the places you're talking about! however i moved to east london a few years ago after (how ironic) east dulwich got too yummy mummy and smug dad-i-fied. now i live in horrible poplar with nary a nice cafe or jojo maman bebe in sight. anyone other east london ladies on this thread?

i've been carb-loading as well - mainly hot cross buns. toasted with butter. om num num.

yeah, stokie is pretty nauseating too. though frankly i could do with a bit of that. just one nice cafe, that's all i ask. but it's all pie'n'mash shops round here, and not in an ironic post-hipster way either.

starshaker you win on the ill front! what's up... too much MS? my pregnancy bible says sometimes if you vom too much you need to get rehydrated. best of luck at the hospital!

starshaker · 07/06/2009 20:38

just MS along with ddiarrhoea has made me dehydrated. gonna have to take her with me. if they keep me in ill need to bite the bullet and tell my step dad im pregnant (he will flip out even though im an adult lol) and ask him to pick her up so my wee sis can watch her

sleepingalot · 07/06/2009 20:49

oh starshaker hope you're feeling better soon

heh, yeah, either that or they'll be accessorising with guns by their 7th birthdays...

sleepingalot · 07/06/2009 21:09

lol. DH just waked into the bathroom while I was on loo, in middle of the whole 'wipe and check' routine...looked at me with half confused, half disgusted look and said... 'do you do that all the time now?' Acknowledged that I do and why while secretly PMSL...if he could read this website and find out what we're all up to.

Sent him out now for food... yes I'm hungry for the first time in a week... and NEED KFC.

FifiForgot · 07/06/2009 21:15

Evening all.

anniemac I know how you feel. When I was pregnant with DD I was bouncing around and although I did feel a bit sick, I seemed to be able to brush it off without too much trouble. This time is a totally different story - I feel totally rubbish and want to sleep all the time. DH is very careful what he says, the slightest thing will set me off!

marmitemonster why is it men just don't understand that substitutes just WILL NOT DO! When pregnant with DD I craved roast chicken crisps - I was given smokey bacon - it just wasn't the same!

alfiesmadmother me too, I am really not hungry and have to make myself eat, I would rather be in bed. I would quite like to just sleep the next few weeks away

I have no idea where this weekend has gone - how can it be Sunday evening already?! Probably because I have spent most of the weekend asleep! We celebrated DD's 3rd birthday today, its tomorrow really, but we're both working. We've got 2 parties for her next weekend - both planned before we found out about baby No 2 and now it doesn't seem like such a good idea!

I've got an early scan on Friday morning - I'm really excited and dreading it in equal parts and am probably going to be a total basket case this week - so I'm sorry if I loose the plot a bit!

starshaker · 07/06/2009 22:03

well thats me home. was on the drip for 30 mins and have dyorolite and imodeum to take. they let me home cos i have dd and im on my own. on the plus side, they think its gastroenteritis and that my MS could just be part of it. Fingers crossed the sickness goes away with the runs lol
