Re dos and don't's of pregnancy - I have had a rare steak, a runny poached egg, and a runny fried egg, oh, and some unpasteurised cheese. Mostly did it without thinking and then felt guilty and worried afterwards.

alibobins · 07/06/2009 09:40

skidoodle it was a degree in Children's and Young People's Services. It was hard work with two Dc's but glad it's all over.

is diarrhoea (sp) normal in pregnacy. ive had it for about a week now and it seems to be getting worse. im running to the loo every hour or less and i feel crap

liny · 07/06/2009 10:52

Morning!, well it is miserable here in Nottingham...just rain.
I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with bloated tummy (10 weeks) , this is my first and I'm just amazed how quickly it was noticeable. Anyway, planning on going shopping next week for long tops, not pregnancy ones yet, I'll wait for the scan.:-)

Eating ryvita and cheese spread! and looking forward to pasta for later ... I can not cook meat or fish at the moment, I just fancy fruits and ice creams...and very tired.. I have struggled all last week to go to work on time. Have tried to avoid all non advised food and caffeine, maybe a bit paranoid really, i would feel too guilty otherwise... but at the end of the day, our mothers used to eat anything and they had healthy babies... but I do eat peanuts!!
Londonlottie, my brother and his wife have got twins and as much as it is hard work , they are fantastic, so funny and the interactions between them is lovely to see. They are 18 months now and soo different but they bring a lot of joy in my family so I'm sure it will be the same for you.
Have all a relaxing Sunday!

earlynite · 07/06/2009 10:55

Can I join? I am 7+1 due 23 jan and very sick at the moment! This is my second I have 1DS who is 6.

dal21 · 07/06/2009 12:00

Welcome mumbling and earlynite! Somewhat - Re the foods, I am afraid I am someone who erred on the side of caution with DS and am doing the same this pregnancy. Am avoiding all of the main ones - alcohol, runny eggs, peanuts...soft cheeses etc. I intended to have a little caffiene but have completely gone off hot drinks so that too is off the list. None of the things on the so called 'banned lists' are big deals for me, so not a massive problem.

Alibobins - congrats on passing your degree!

Sleepingalot - well done for making it out! Not a chance for me! I am in my jim jams and snug in bed as soon as DS is in his!

Londonlottie - am at your wagamamas. I love wagamamas, but there isnt one that close since we moved.

Skidoodle - my tiredness is ridiculous. Between work and looking after DS I am exhausted! Am back in bed and about to nap again when DS does. I didnt remember it being this bad first time round, but DH does.

Starshaker - I sometimes have diarrohea during pregnancy, had it from 5 to 7 weeks - although not with much frequency as you are saying. Make sure you drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. If it remains constant, I would get to the GP just as a precaution.

We woke up to torrential rain and thunderstorms here. Blue skys for a few hours and has just turned grey again. You can tell I am getting old - love a good deluge of rain, garden looks fab after

Happy lazy sundays all!

mumbling · 07/06/2009 13:33

Hi Biccy ? it?s mad isn?t it, how easy it is to be crazily anxious. My DH got quite ratty that I seemed to be anticipating doom in week 7, but once that milestone was passed, I was so relieved (and TBH, I think he was too). I had actually been counting down to it. So hard. But, it seems, the time does pass and with each week I think it is natural to get more hopeful.

Thanks Sleepingalot, I hope it goes well for you too. How far along are you?

Somewhathorrified ? I like the sound of your doctor. I had an appointment with mine in mid May and she told me all about her own pregnancy problems and looked like she was about to cry... I came out fairly distraught. Somebody strike a happy balance please!

Londonlottie ? my sister who is 18 months younger than me got married first (3 months) and she?s 25 weeks pregnant now (she got pregnant 2 weeks after I did, but then didn?t have a miscarriage...) Your brother has done the decent thing!! I haven?t told any of my family this time. Last time I told them as soon as I had a positive pregnancy test. Oops.

Thanks Dal21 ? our roses have come out!

Hi timmette, I don't think I'll lose weight, but hopefully prevent a mega gain like last time by snacking on 'Free foods'. It's just normal healthy low fat foods, with a treat allowance, but thinking through what I'm going to have and monitoring treats helps me keep in control!! I'm only about a stone overweight starting this pregnancy. I know larger pregnant women can effectively lose weight on it by maintaining their weight/ or gaining just 1 stone or so, so after birth are lighter than when started. It's midwife approved. To go to a class you have to have a letter from midwife. I'm just doing it myself using the magazines and booklet from when I did it after DS1. Recipes in the mag are great, plus lots of ideas for healthier treats and snacks.

Wanted to knicker check during aqua yesterday, felt some moisture squidge out and panicked something was going to happen in the pool. Must have been pool water pushed in when bouncing around .

Disabled with tiredness today, feel so guilty not upto playing with boisterous toddler DS

Hi Londonlottie - so cool if there are two babies roughly the same age, for them growing up. I've always had cousins of about my age and loved it. So fingers crossed! Re my sister, she was very tactful about breaking the news, told me on the phone the week before she told the remainder of my family so I had time to get used to the idea, and waited til the 12 week mark. Actually, I think it was tough for them too. They were absolutely kacking it for their first scan!

Marmitemonster a friend of my sister had a what she thought was a lovely three month bump, which she was very proud of, until the midwife told her it was bloating. So I don't think you need to be worried about the effect of squashing... Aren't babies nicely insulated in there? But you could ring your midwife tomorrow?

starshaker · 07/06/2009 14:16

well i went back to bed for a couple of hours this afternoon as dd is at her dads. feel a wee bit better now.got another 4 hours to kill. hmmmm what can i eat

sleepingalot · 07/06/2009 14:21

Hi mumbling I'm 8+3, have a scan on Thur...counting down the days.

Biccy I think we're all secret knicker checkers!

Am erring on side of caution with regards food too dal21 otherwise would become even more paranoid!

skidoodle I'm same as you - tired all the time (hence the choice of name!). Have had 2 weeks hol from work and back tomorrow and dreading it as there will be no afternoon kip (or mid morning snooze...)Before the hols I was home and in bed by 6.30.

sleepingalot · 07/06/2009 14:29

Hi everyone!!! Haven't been on for ages and just spent half an hour catching up

Lottie, I am so jealous of your twins!! Even though that would make 5 for me I would be secretly pleased and at least you won't know any different once they are born!

Anyone else have no appetite. I feel tired and sick all the time and can hardly eat. Despite this my stomack is still rounding !

Also my sex drive is through the roof
