Here it is ladies. Shall we start with a roll call like the efficient ladies over on April 2005?

Baby Freya made her appearance on Monday 16th May at 2.46pm weighing ..wait for it................9lb 4ozs !!!! Given the fact i'm only 4ft 11in everyone was amazed that I managed to deliver naturally with only gas & air as pain relief .
After thinking she would never arrive she surprised both dh & I by arriving approx a day after her due date! We are all doing well and adapting well to life as a "family".

I will post details on the birth announcement but just to let you all know I did get my water birth which was better than I expected although due to my contractions slowing down I had to birth on the bed. My labour length was approx 10 hrs 50 mins which apparently is good for a first birth.
(Just to confirm the scan's were correct in the sex confirmation but the old lady I bumped into at Tesco who told me she was a boy was WRONG!!..Looks like how you carry does not confirm the sex!)

Anyway Freya is so gorgeous and the love both dh & I have for her is overwelming....Think I have the baby blues though as just thinking about her makes me cry...With happiness though
Congratulations from dh, Freya & I to those who have also delivered this week and welcome to your new additions. I hope you are happy as we are. Thanks also to those who have asked after me, sorry about the delay in replying but I hate leaving Freya for 1 min.
How are things going brighteyes???? Sorry I beat you to it but someone couldn't wait to meet her mum & dad.!!

Wow! Congratulations to Preggers, Maddison and Uwila!

I've had an exciting (!) day - called midwife this morning because of face swelling (to add to swollen hands, arms, legs & feet); she visited me at home, BP was raised, so DH and I have spent sveral hours at the hospital. I've been let out for good behaviour, (and normal CTG, bloods etc) but the midwife will check my BP twice a week from now on. Hopefully I'll have the baby sooner rather than later though...

Good Luck to all those still waiting.

Holly290505 the stats are really useful and not at all annoying - please keep it up!

maymum · 20/05/2005 17:30

Congratulations to you too Shhhh! Well Done!

Tinker · 20/05/2005 17:32

Congratulations to Preggars, Shhhh and Uwila!

fashill · 20/05/2005 20:27

All these babies, you lucky ladies

Glad to hear all this news and some more coming in the next couple of days!!

Went into hospital for monitoring, bloods etc as I've been itching all over my body for the last couple of days, really been irritating and keep scratching like mad during the night. Haven't got that thing they worry about with itchy skin (whatever it's called) but apparently you can get itchy towards the end of pregnancy and it should go after baby is born. So hopefully baby fashill will come sooner rather than later! Taking piriton, as prescribed, and covered in calamine lotion at the mo and have just had a curry to try to get something happening

Well after the midwifes little internal 'check up' yesterday, I lost my plug this morning (pretty sure thats what it was - lots of jelly like stuff with a red blood tinged spot in middle) and then had 3 hrs of contractions (moderate, tummy pain mostly but pain pain was kicking in) then they sodded off! nad have had nothing since... think BH are kicking in , but apart from that only have draggin pain in cervix like Myermay...

Holly290505 · 21/05/2005 21:19

Glad this is useful - I like seeing all these lovely names together. Any news from Muppety's CS or Hollya's iniduction?

myermay - I am having EXACTLY the same thing. Dragging heavy feelings in the cervix area with tightenings. Hope it means something might happen ahead of duedate

Morning all,

Well, things really are hotting up now arent they!! Congratulations to all those that have had their babies.

I have my own announcement to make after a traumatic night Luca Daniel Michael was born on Wednesday 18th at 01.17 am weighing 9lb 3oz.

My induction didnt go to plan, after 2 lots of prostin and loads of really strong and painful contractions I asked to be examined, only to be told that babies head was to high and had no intention of comming down as it was to big. As the mw was doing this my waters went and then the panic started my waters was full of blood babies heart beat was fine but a little fast,so they was not sure where the blood was from. I was then taken straight to delivery ward trying to keep calm and trying to find out if any one had rung dh.
I was then told that I would be having a section and was panicing even more because still no sign of dh. He turned up just as they were about to do the spinal, thankfully. Luca was deliverd safely.

I was later told that I `d had the start of an abruption, but it has started a few days before as there was days old clots behind the placenta and was being made worse by the contractions I was having. But was also told that Luca was in no emediete danger, otherwise I would of had to have a general rather that a spinal. Just glad all is well and relieved its all over.
