Here it is ladies. Shall we start with a roll call like the efficient ladies over on April 2005?

Best Wishes logic!

Cheerful thoughts to those of you still waiting (if you can muster some up!). I have 11 days to go, but I'm working on baby arriving 1st June, just over a week late (no particular reason, just a guess). I'm not giving myself time to be bored, so I'm coping OK with the wait so far...

Noggermum · 12/05/2005 11:00

Hello all, I know am not a regular poster for may (as am pretty sure this baby will arrive in June) but on the off chance baby drops on time can I go on the stats/announcements - due 29/05.

MW thinks am in the region of 8lbs already so am now on mission to expel ASAP. Vindaloo for dinner then, followed by pineapple, mango and a few litres of raspberry leaf tea??

Congrats on the births so far - where are all the boys???

Tinker · 12/05/2005 11:07

ooo, exciting logic. Good luck

hollya · 12/05/2005 12:13

wow logic how exciting, hope everything is ok and you have a precious bundle soon!!

Maddison · 12/05/2005 13:42

Good luck Logic, hope this is it for you!

Well I'm due tomorrow and I have a feeling I'm going to go well over, so I will be joining the 'late club' aswell! I keep thinking that last time around DS was 3 days old by this point

tab · 12/05/2005 14:10

oh lOGIC, hope something has happened since your posting! I went into labour immediately my waters broke last time without anything beforehand. My thoughts are with you. Hopefuly youll be holding that little warm bundle soon.

Re the breastfeeding. I have looked at some pictures with 2 and half ds to see if it jogged any memories with him but he doesnt seem to understand and keeps saying that we'll give the baby a drink and a biscuit when he comes! - which is very sweet. I know what you mean about how are we going to be able to concentrate so much time on the new arrival. I suppose I will just have to see how it goes. Like Preggars when I did switch from breast to bottle with ds - I found it a real chore, sterilising and measuring all the time.
I dont think anybody should criticise anybody - its a very personal choice and its got to fit in with your own feelings, routine etc

Tinker · 12/05/2005 15:37

Am feeling fed up now. Have been to see midwife adn am fed up of how fundal height measurements can go up and down. Midwife not bothered but teh inconsistency bothers me. Has everyone else been bang on height for weeks all teh way through?

Preggars · 12/05/2005 16:18

Hi All

logic - am very excited for you. If you think it was your waters you should actually ring the hospital now, as they will want you to come in today for a quick swab to confirm it is your waters. They will then want you to come in tomorrow to be induced to save risk of infection to the baby. It's of course up to you, but imo wouldn't wait until the morning to call (I'll butt out now).

You could be of course going for it now - and I'm sending pushing thoughts your way!!!...

hollya · 12/05/2005 16:19

don't worry tinker, i was 3 weeks ahead until about 34 weeks then i slowed down. now am 2 weeks behind. the midwife said because i am tall they can't really base my fundal height on anything as it's not going to be average. i'm just a freak!
i don't want to be in the late club any more, it's stressing me out!

shhhh · 12/05/2005 18:01

Hiya...well only 3days left (if baby arrives on time) and I never thought I would ever say it but I so want to have baby now ! Been out for lunch with friends today and so couldn't be bothered, in fact I did call dh and have a little cry to him..about the usual really...feeling fat, not being able to wear the clothes I want and like, feeling tired, looking fat etc etc etc.
Is everyone else like this???
Don't get me wrong I sooooo want this baby and even now it amazes us we are having a baby after a 3 year try/wait but I don't think I could continue for much further esp if baby goes over. We are booked into the hospital for 23rd if baby hasn't arrived and then an apmt will be made for an induction but I really don't want and induction, it scares me and I couldn't wait another possible 14days till baby arrives. I'm only 4ft 11in and alreay peoples comments make me feel like i'm carrying a 11lb !
I'm also starting to tired of the "haven't you had that baby yet" comments.
Sorry for the moan but the sunshine outside doesn't seem to be cheering me up!!

Preggars · 12/05/2005 19:22

It's ok Shhh, we all understand, rant away.

BTW, feeling emotional, and down are signs of imminent labour. Hope that cheers you up a little.

x

Shhh, your pregnant life sounds exactly like mine! I'm due tomorrow and I did have a cry last night to DH for the same reasons, one woman actually said to me that she wished I would 'hurry up and have that baby' i hardly know the woman aswell so fail to see what difference it makes to her. I also can't walk DS to nursery without somebody commenting on my size (I'm only 5'1") and nursery is only 300 metres max from our house.

Had an appointment with the midwife today and all is well - still 3/5 engaged so no change from last week . She has made an appointment to come out to see me next Friday to do a membrane sweep, which I've heard is really uncomfortable and I've also got an appointment at the hospital on 23rd when they will do another and then discuss induction, which I'd prefer not to have.

Well sorry for the rambling on, I'm going for a nice bath and then bed.

Oh and I hope Logics silence means good things are happening

hollya · 13/05/2005 08:51

why won't this baby come? i can no longer go outside as none of my maternity clothes fit me anymore and i swear stretchmarks are going to take over my entire body.
i feel completely abandoned by my midwife, i haven't had an appointment since the 4th and i don't have another til the 18th.
the next person who phones me and asks me stupid questions like "hasn't that baby come yet?" or "are you just being lazy?" is going to die!!
i think dp is beginning to get sick of me phoning him at work and crying at him!
right that's that off my chest, i'll stop moaning now i promise!

shhhh · 13/05/2005 09:58

So it looks like it's not just me ! DH has been brilliant over the past 9 months and has really put up with a lot of s* from me but I can't help it, hormones ! He does his best to calm me down and to reassure me that it's all normal and baby will be here soon..also think that the unknown part of labour is making me slightly grouchy as well .

Preggers myermay & maddison thanks for your replies, I know we are all experiencing something amazing by making and carrying a baby but suppose sometimes it does get a bit much. I'm the same about clothes, i'm now outgrowing my clothes (I already did this part way through pregnancy and again now) and although I have put on about 2 & half stone I feel like a weeble! My bum has got a life of its own !! My tummy also resembles a map of the underground ! LOL. DH doesn't seem fazed though and replies "it's all part of pregnancy & I don't love u any less" ! Even suggests surgery at a later date if I want to reduce 'em but given the fact that even childbirth scares me let alone an op I think I will pass on this idea !!!

Myermay im going to look up local reflexology places on google now. Thanks for the tip..also hope the bit about feling emotional before baby comes is true .
Hope everyone else is ok.?
Hollya you were due 9/5 ? I don't understand why you haven't been seen sooner by mw..? We are due 15/5 and was last seen on 10/5 and next due 17/7 and then if nothing the 23/5 at hospital..Seems a bit of a time to go between apmts esp when at due date. Can you not ask for a sooner apmt? We are booked in for peace of mind really. I would have a word with your m/w as it's not much to ask for, a 10 min check up.!!

Sorry about the 3 messages ! Computer on go slow and think I must have a bit to "click happy"

Maddison · 13/05/2005 10:19

Hi Shhhh, my DH actually said the other night that I look like a weeble but I WOULD fall over!! Of course I tried to go one better than that and said if I put my hair in pigtails I'd look like a spacehopper!

Hollya, I can't believe the amount of time between your appointments, especially considering you are now overdue. I'm 40 weeks today and have seen my MW every week for the last 3 weeks and every 2 weeks for a while before that. I have an appt with her on 20th for a sweep then another at the hospital on 23rd. I would think about complaining about the lack of care if I were you. Hope you feel better soon. x

shhhh · 13/05/2005 10:29

Maddison LOL.!!! It must be funny for the guys to watch us as I suppose if it was the other way around I couldn't control my laughter ! But shhh don't tell them that! DH laughs at my attempts to "get myself out of bed". It resembles an animal documentary programme...you know ...the one where they are trying to free the beached whale ! Takes me about 5 mins and lots of huffing and puffing to roll over let alone get out of bed..This has now become my routine every hour at night when I need a wee. Supppose it's easier and probably more comfortable to sleep on the toilet ?

Preggars · 13/05/2005 11:05

Is Friday the 13th going to be 'lucky' for someone?!!!

Where's Logic?! (pacing up and down waiting for news emoticon)

Maddison · 13/05/2005 11:13

I find I get myself (reasonably) comfy in bed and don't move until I wake up to go to the loo, then I nearly do myself an injury trying to get out of bed!!!

I've been wondering where Logic is aswell, hopefully we'll have another birth announcement soon!

logic · 13/05/2005 11:46

Logic's baby is still in Logic's uterus {sob}
Thanks for all the good wishes, guys. Went to the hospital yesterday morning and the midwife thinks the waters breaking were either a false alarm or that the membranes have resealed (forewaters or something). She didn't do an exam because she said that she was sure that I was already in labour and the baby would be here either yesterday or today. Contractions were really painful and every 10 mins yesterday but stopped later on. So I am still waiting.
