Here we go lasses

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
frazzledoldbag · 27/04/2009 11:39

But ladies, it's HALF PRICE!
[frazzled wonders why such a wonderful item should be in the sales...........]
I might buy one just for comedy value
[perhaps not]

flippineck · 27/04/2009 11:41

Frazz - great big LOLs at that, possibly even more preposterous (sp?) than the hooter hiders!

tummum - that's good news about your test results, fingers crossed for everything going smoothly this week

runningmonkey - I've never come across Tesni before, that's interesting. Love Carys and Alys but can't do either for various reasons (family politics, bah!)

sausage - lol at your mum! Like we've honestly got that much control over things!

Still in my pjs....

Momino · 27/04/2009 11:41

frazzled's bf hat and all of your posts have made me feel better .

i think my hormones are getting the better of me though and have been crying a lot this morning. I'll watch some bad daytime telly and take advantage of the rainy weather to stay in and nothing.

llare, are you relaxing today as best as can be?

Momino · 27/04/2009 11:43

that's, 'stay in and do nothing'.

Belgianchocolates · 27/04/2009 11:44

frazz talking about comedy value. I keep having to resist the urge to take a pregnancy test to the till when I'm in Boots, just to see people's faces

frazzledoldbag · 27/04/2009 11:50

belgian - snorting at the preg test! Funnily enough I was in Sainsburys the other evening buying Calpol and found myself standing in front of the pg tests and a woman gave me a right funny look! I had a similar thought - perhaps I should pick one up and start reading the instructions on the back [evil frazzled laughs]
I actually think the woman was trying to shop-lift some vitamins and I was cramping her style......

momino sorry you're feeling a bit teary today.
Have a [hug] and another one from DD2 [baby hug]
Better? Just take it easy honey x

FiKelly · 27/04/2009 11:51

momino rant away all you need!

flippin your bump is lovely

ladyhelen def buy the bag... i treated myself to a storksac i'd been lusting after... not one of the leather ones... but it was still just over £80. I've been using it with ds and i'm loving it. All the pockets are fab and will be just perfect to carry 2 dc's stuff along with anything i have for me I've just had a letter saying my hip money will be paid into the bank in the next week so i don't feel so bad spending some of it in advance now!

It's raining here too. DS woke at 9.30am and seems totally normal. so he'll be off to pre school at 1pm and we're just having a lazy morning. Normally i take him to a soft play class/activity session we pay for per term at our local sports centre. decided he needed the sleep more this morning and i can live with losing the £3.50 that missing a session costs... off to catch up with next few pages now. was still on page 21!

Belgianchocolates · 27/04/2009 11:59

I'm not the only one with a stupid sense of humor then frazz

I'm staring at a black nursing bra on Figleaves at the mo wondering whether to buy it or not. When I went to Bravissimo the other day they only had a white one, so I could do with 2, but that 1st size wont fit all that long, so I'm doubting whether to buy a 2nd one. I could do with 2 really, but I don't want to spend the money, because those lovely pics were so expensive. [indecisive emoticon]

momino I'd say have a lazy telly day too AND lots of cake and biscuits, you're bound to feel better after that

llareggub · 27/04/2009 12:03

While we are on the subject of Welsh names, we have narrowed our choice of Welsh middle names down to two. DS's Welsh middle name is Iestyn, and we want one for this baby as well, just in case they ever play rugby for Wales!

DS2's middle name will either be Aneurin (pn An-eye-rin) or Taliesin (Tally-es-in.) Both names have personal meaning for me as well, so I am really torn.

The jury is still out on his first name as well, so we'll wait to see what he looks like tomorrow(!)

I'm not really resting. I'm doing a bit of cleaning and hopefully will get a nice sleep this afternoon.

Thanks for all of the good wishes...we'll send an email after the birth to let you know how we've got on, and if I manage to negotiate custody of DH's phone I may even post here!

Tumum great news about your PE results.

Momino · 27/04/2009 12:08

llare, I really like Taliesin.
oooh, i'm so excited for you for tomorrow !

FiKelly · 27/04/2009 12:13

frazzled LOL at the bf hats! i love the way they are keen to point out that by using one you are sort of celebrating bf in a way. if only... more like another huge attention grabbing look at me and what i'm doing over here!!!

tummum great news about the PE what a relief. Re your mobile... i suppose it depends on what you want to be able to do with a mobile, how much you want to spend on a handset, how long a contract you'd be prepared to have or would you prefer pay as you go? when last looking at phones i wanted one i could use to keep track of my blog and emails while away on holiday without having to take our laptop. I also wanted one with a good camera and video facility as i take far more pics of ds with my phone than i ever did with our digital camera (always have my phone on me but not the camera).

Sausage it will be your mums own fault if she misses everything... after all she made the decision to go away on holiday knowing you were due around this time. i'd be tempted to get things going while she's away too!

flippin seren is a lovely name. not heard it before as more familiar with scottish names.

FiKelly · 27/04/2009 12:17

llare i can't believe it's your turn tomorrow already! how time has flown by... lets hope you are so ready to go that everything kicks off after the 1st prostin.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 27/04/2009 12:40

Afternoon all!

llare Lots of love for tomorrow, I hope it goes smoothly, swiftly and everything xxxxxxx ooooooooh another baby on the way!!!!!!

frazz Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! at the ridiculous BF sombrero....."OI EVERYONE, LOOK AT ME, I'VE GOT MY NORKS OUT......LOOK LOOK LOOK LOOK LOOK". Perhaps it could be combined with a discreet 'Hooter Hider' too?

momino I am sending telepathic thoughts to your baby to be on it's way soon and I am sending virtual cakes and biscuits and gooooood thoughts to you.

I am having a very twingey day, lots of back pains and very strong BH's. Come on Baby Grump...........I had a day of hysterical tantrums and tears yesterday, I had barely slept the night before and had a busy day Saturday (it was the day of the 8 11 year olds to the cinema - it went very well, I sat well away from them, which made me look like a sad, middle-aged slavering perv sitting on my own watching Zac Efron - the film was actually rather good as far as kids' films go.) I think everyone in Pizza Hut was relieved when we finally left after 1.5hrs of girlie shrieks...........

Just trying to find some tap shoes for DD2. Anyone any ideas of online stores I can get them in?

DD1 has a sponsored walk on May 17th, it's about 4 hours uphill. If this baby has not put in an appearance by then, I may be joining her and perhaps I could give birth atop a hill in an Earth Mother style? I shall wear a floaty hemp 'n' lentil kaftan, woven by my own calloused hands just in case. I have the bedraggled, frizzy hair of the comic strereotypical hippy so I'm part way there.

I meant to send greetings to everyone on various bits and pieces of news but me no have brain. I'm off for a proper catch-up and I will be back.........

Hi- just got dressed and added some bump photos on my profile (36 weeks today). I feel very small, especially compared to 1stMrsF but i am sure this LO will be a good 8-9lb like his bro and sis (he was measuring above average at 31 weeks).

Pula Lovely bump pic. I think we'd all look tiny next to 1stMrsF

grumpy Lol at your Earth Mother scenario. Maybe you need some Aveeno to soften those calloused hands

My mum is one of those people who can't stand quiet and so I'm trying read a book while she keeps reading bits of her magazine out loud. Maybe now she's cleaned the kitchen I should send her back home so I can have a minute of quiet

Momino · 27/04/2009 13:10

dandy, was thinking about you this morning and wondering... i'm so sorry, you don't need this now do you? it sounds like the only solution is the appeal and I hope it goes well. is there any other neighbour/friend in the same situation? I'm glad the MW appt went well and sending you virtual support.

Momino · 27/04/2009 13:12

dandy, meant to say... look on the prev page at frazzled's BF hat - that will make you smile .

pula, great bump, very neat and pretty. at your bathroom as usual.

Belgianchocolates · 27/04/2009 13:14

Dandy Oh dear, I feel so sorry for you. Can you try and appeal? The system can be so unfair, can't it? I can imagine how you must feel. I hope you find a good alternative soon.

SpangleMaker · 27/04/2009 13:14

Grumpy your posts always make me

The bf hat is hilarious! have to say tho I've not quite got the confidence to bf fully in public yet. Nor the technique - there is sttill a lot of baby-head waggling & nipple waving involved. The other day I got stroppy with DH & insisted I was going to bf in John Lewis cafe instead of the uninspiring 'feeding area'. In the event JL cafe was huge, brightly lit, very open & full of old dears admiring H and I just didn't quite have the nerve to reveal my ample norkage to the spectating crowd

FiKelly · 27/04/2009 13:15

dandy so sorry that your dd didn't get into your 1st/2nd choices... i was thinking of you all this morning but was afraid to ask just in case it was not good news. What kind of supporting evidence are you required to give in your appeal?

Momino · 27/04/2009 13:16

grumpy, congrats for surviving the cinema as well as Pizza Hut !

just doing nothing right now and lunching on some comfort cheese on toast and tomato soup. perfect rainy day food.

FiKelly · 27/04/2009 13:17

grumpy your 'sad, middle-aged slavering perv sitting on your own watching Zac Efron' comment made me LOL although from the clips of the film i've seen advertised his six pack is prob worthy of some slavering

FiKelly · 27/04/2009 13:21

pula your bump is lovely and i'm still at your bathroom too!
