rosielady · 24/04/2009 15:57

EmmalinaC many many congratulations! Well done lady! I agree it gives us all hope VBAC ladies! Beautiful name too.

oohh its getting all exciting! Popping like peas now!

Tummum · 24/04/2009 16:41

Very exciting news EmmalinaC congratulations. 2 hours... phew !

My day has been continuing.... it's quite funny really except I am too knackered to have a sense of humour about it. 20 mins after DH stormed out (having kicked in the kitchen door with his steel toe cap boots - seriously, he was that pissed off) I got a little phone call from him that his car had broken down on the motorway and could I come rescue him. So a very frosty car journey later he has my car to take to work whilst his is at the side of the road.

Then I had MW appt and my BP (unsurprisingly) has shot up to 150/90. That with headache (lack of sleep) and puffy feet = midwife wanting to admit me, which I refused because it's all because of the sleep/argument thing. She then measured my bump and, according to her, I have grown 4 inches in 1 week !!! So another panic ensues about HB and growth scans etc etc. She is a new midwife so I out my foot down and we agreed that she would do bloods, I would call labour ward if I feel worse and I am likely to get a growth scan early next week. I suppose the good news is that I will def. be able to stop worrying about a breech baby if that happens

DH is refusing to pick up the phone to me now, so it's just as well I'm not in labour!! I haven't had much opportunity to get much sleep (was at the Drs for 3 hours ) and period pain is starting again, so I am praying that

  1. DC go to bed really nicely tonight
  2. DH and I can bury the hatchet
  3. DH's car isn't burgered
  4. I can get some sllleeeeeeppppp tonight. After a lovely long soak in the bath.

Update DH has apologised for being a sh*t. Hooray !

Apologies for the self-centred post again.

Belgianchocolates · 24/04/2009 16:47

Don't worry Tummum That's what's MN is made for isn't it, you know for moaning . It's better to let off steam and tell people than keeping it in and letting it go round and round your mind.

My parents are here now, of course bringing tuns of gifts for the dcs and some presents for baby too. The dcs are very excited off course and had to go around showing them all the new things in the house.

Baby has wedged itself underneath my ribs this afternoon. I can't seem to be able to stretch tall enough.

Who was it that mentioned Polony? I was wondering about her too last night.

Jennster · 24/04/2009 16:48

Tummum glad you and your dh have sort of made up. Sounds like a sh*t day. Hope it's starting to get better. Don't worry about moaning.

Blottedcopybook · 24/04/2009 16:51

Emmalina Bloody well done you! Congratulations!

Grumpy Sounds like what I had, I just couldn't see then I got a big grey circle in front of what I was focusing on. Very bizarre. Hope DH spoils you rotten tonight!

Belgian Crates are really expensive, I'd try just tossing her out of the coop and closing the door until she snaps out of it first but that could mean your other hen has a tantrum and finds somewhere else to lay!

minimenace · 24/04/2009 17:03

WELL DONE EmmalinaC fantastic news and gorgeous name. agreed with others your VBAC, although unplanned, gives us other VBAC'ers much better hope to do the same.

tummum sorry to hear you are having a sh*tty day - feel free to rant as much as you like here

Well my curry with the girls didn't seem to do anything - I haven't even had a bowel movement from it yet. not going back to that curry house in a hurry nice evening catching up with girly mates though.

Llare did you feel anything much since your sweep yesterdayv.. more BH's or anything ?

Jael · 24/04/2009 17:08

Hi ladies, I'm home, finally, after a week of being in hospital...I'm not armed with baby though My CS is on Thursday, even though I had my "show" yesterday, so he could arrive before then, which worries me a little as i'll have to get to hospital ASAP if my waters go, as he's still breech.

DP said he had updated you a little bit, I had my MRI scan on Sunday, which was awful! It was so claustophobic, and the baby kicked me the whole way through, and all I kept thinking was please don't hurt my baby...it was so loud...I wouldn't wish having one on anyone, anyways I got my results on Tuesday, I haven't been having mini-strokes, thankfuly, and my brain and blood vessels are fine, so it looks like I am suffering from hemiplegic migraine, I've got to see a neurologist as soon as baby's born, and i'll be on meds for the rest of my life now, there is a chance they could go completely when baby's born, so we'll see how it goes.

I've missed MN so bad! My DP printed a whole weeks worth off for me to read while I was in hospital, bless him, so I've still been reading I'm so glad to be home.

I'll try post again over the weekend, I'm very tired, didn't sleep at all in hospital and the food was awful!

Love Jael XX

Jennster · 24/04/2009 17:11

Jael I'm so glad that's good news. How are you feeling? Oh gosh it's all getting exciting with the increasing number of babies.... Your Dh is very sweet. Not sure my dh would do that for me.

Tummum · 24/04/2009 17:12

Jael It's soooo good to hear from you - we've all been wondering how you are. And great news that you haven't been having mini-strokes. I really hope that it all goes away after LO is born. Take care of yourself.x

Belgianchocolates · 24/04/2009 17:17

Jael It's lovely to have you back. I'm happy to hear that you weren't suffering from mini-strokes and that everything else is OK. That MRI sounded horrible. I hope those migraines will go after baby is born, because they sound scary. I can sympathise with the not sleeping in hospital too. I was admitted last week and asked dh to bring in earplugs and my own pillow because I was knackered after the 1st night!

Jael glad to hear you are home and not long till your baby is here
EmmalinaC Congratulations!
Jennster it was nice to meet at antenatal- I wanted to pull my chair over to you and have a good natter but thought it would look a bit rude to the two ladies sat either side of me! Maybe next week - and hopefully everyone will be more upbeat next time

My food cravings are suddenly back with a vengeance, can't get enough coffee cake and coffee icecream- and I don't normally like coffee, weird. Just had a massive slice of coffe cake to celebrate start of Mat leave- it was delish.

And whoever it was who said they don't like the aniseed Gaviscon- I love the stuff, I'm tempted to take it even on the nights I don't need it! Yum yum

runningmonkey · 24/04/2009 17:35

Congratulations EmmalinaC and well done! Beautiful name.

Great to see you back Jael.

I've been asleep all afternoon. I'm so tired. I did have some cramps last night after DH and I indulged in some induction techniques, but nothing since. DS is home and I hoped that breastfeeding might kick something off but unfortunately not! I can't walk very far and the baby feels like he is practically in my pants anyway!

DS decided that we are all kangaroos. DH is a pink kangaroo, I am an orange kangaroo and baby is a tiny kangaroo. I really hope he isn't a tiny kangaroo, although he certainly feels jumpy enough!

pulapula · 24/04/2009 17:49

Hi all,

Just back from 5 days at centerparcs. We were so lucky with the weather .

Congrats Looby and thanks to chocbunnies for texting me the news yesterday. Look forward to hearing your little girl's name.

Also well done EmmalinaC- Chocbunnies said there were some imminent births but i guess yours was a surprise one- sounds quick and glad the unplanned VBAC was OK.

So do i take it we are just waiting for news from reggiee and jael? Have skimmed the thread but with 300 messages plus others on the old thread i doubt i can catch up with all the news.

Saw some mother and MIL chats which made me .

And saw Belgianchocs photos- what a lovely idea and you look great. I love the ones with you and your kids too. Really special.

febes- hope the P&T has arrived and its just what you need. We had ours with us at Centerparcs and it is so much easier to push than any other pushchair i've had and when DD wanted to walk, its great for carrying bags. I look forward to using it for my LO .

I've been having lots of BH and bump has definitely grown but no signs that LO is making his way out. I was quite energetic on holiday and did lots of walking but it made me sore (SPD) and sometimes i'd stand up and feel like i couldn't take any steps at all and had to hobble/waddle around.

pulapula · 24/04/2009 17:53

Jael- I missed your post- glad to hear they have let you out, and not long til your CS (if LO waits that long!) but sorry to hear it sounds like you need meds long-term and that your condition might continue after the birth.

Momino · 24/04/2009 18:11

jael, welcome back! glad you're well and your DP was so kind to keep us updated. countdown to next thu for you !
sophietom, and lol at your gaviscon 'craving'!

tummum, glad your DP apologised and hope you're feeling better as well.

pula and matthewbsmum, glad you had great holidays, lucky you.

everyone else, i'm now tired of typing so sorry i didn't address all of you. hope you're well.

a little whinge said in a tiny but longing voice: i want a 2 hour labour pleeeeaase. please can i?
