Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I have been the moodiest cow today. I can't help myself!!It's DHs only day off all week and I have moaned and picked at him.

divedaisy · 11/04/2009 19:17

Dandylioness - I just couldnt find your trimmed list on the last thread! Sorry, but I did look!!! I did think you had done a cull! Thanks for doing it again - not a problem at all. I just try to do it on a Thursday when I change 'weeks'.

llareggub - Smyths Toy shop doswaddling wraps for £9.99 - I was looking at them today!

Cote - SPD/PGP - that's what I have too. In bed try to keep a pillow between your knees at night. I also try to keep one behind my back to stop me from rolling onto my back. I also live for 7pm when I can take the strong co-codamol. Unlike Belgianchocolates I take mine then, and again if necessary before bedtime - otherwise I'd be dozzy all day! I find they are good in helping me to doze off at night. I use paracetamol during the day if required, but have to wear the support belt and ensure I have at least one crutch with me just in case!

Frazzled - sorry to hear your DH isn't keen on your planned HB. I commented on someone elses similar predicament a while back and it could very well be him panicking! It is a huge responsibility on him, and I'm sure he doesn't feel 'properly trained'. Saying that, there are plenty of people untrained that manage to deliver a baby - back of a car scenario! If you're adamant on trying for a HB, it may be possible when the time comes to 'stick it out' at home for as long as possible. Noone knows how things will play out - I could have an unplanned HB even!!!

llareggub · 11/04/2009 19:20

divedaisy thanks for that! Far better price!

febes I'm OK today but I have been really, really moody lately. Blame the hormones...

EGGiee · 11/04/2009 19:26

Hi all

Momino thought of you as I spent the afternoon in York. It was heaving (ok, not entirely unexpected for a bank holiday weekend so perhaps a slightly stupid decision).

Llare swaddling saved my sanity with dd. The Merino ones look gorgeous - sooo soft. I've got one of these coming via Amazon

Just realised I don't think I've said a big congrats to Spangle. Can't wait to see the photos, and hope you're all doing well .

Can't believe Looby is only a week away. I reckon someone will have their lo before next weekend. Don't want to place bets though!

Belgian / grumpy I am very very windy too . Last week I had regular stomach pains for a few hours and was started to get concerned, until I did a massive trump and quick visit to the loo (tmi) then all was well again.

So all this egg rolling - we're not doing anything for Easter (haven't even got dd an easter egg but only cos I'd eat it) - am I really miserable??

Sorry to those of you who are feeling down. My mood seems to have lifted this week, but may be related to dd recovering from her chickenpox and me getting sleep again. Also I saw the mw this week and she was lovely and reassuring after my horrendous visit to see the consultant to discuss my VBAC the week before. The baby is 1/5 engaged (I didn't think they started to drop for second babies), and everything is looking good atm.

Have a good evening. I am tempted to have a (small) glass of wine

divedaisy · 11/04/2009 19:38

Momino I didn't really get to sleep last night until around 4am as I was up to the loo plenty! All this running to the loo is really pi**ing me off literally!

DS & I went to our shop today which was manic with loads of skaters and BMXers!! Great! Then we went to Smyths to get a mobile for Bumps crib - DS thought I was buying Bump a mobile phone!!!! He bought more Lego Indiana Jones with money he's saved. I also have ordered him Lego cutlery, placemat, & bookends from Bump, so that should keep him happy! All wrapped up in Lego paper too!!

I still am seeking 'the' name for this wee girl... It is so hard! My latest thoughts are Suzannah Grace (using Zannah/Zani or maybe Suza/Suzie as a nick-name), Sophia Rose, Charis Rose, Olivia Rose (Libbi), Gabriella/e Rose (Gabi/Ella/Ellie). I keep liking then disliking all of them!!!!!!! And DH is no help - he keeps giving me horrid ones in jest. And he wants to see what i hve on my list... A number would be easier!

divedaisy · 11/04/2009 19:40

I'm just realising - I get very down too... a few days ago I just didn't have the oomph to be interested in doing anything!

Momino · 11/04/2009 20:33

divedaisy, aren't you so tired today? also love all names you mentioned, favourite being Suzannah/Zannah/Zani. very cute.

I feel exhausted but didn't do that much but run around DD's whilst DH did things around the house and run errands. also can't seem to get supper on for children until well past 6pm - is that bad? most of my friends' DCs are in bed 7ish... i'm just not organised enough to do so. how am i going to manage 3? (rhetorical question).

am lazily sat in lounge waiting for my burger/chips to be brought to me (thank god for DH). would love a glass of wine but still don't feel like it would taste good and would prob make heartburn even worse. so have opted for rasp leaf tea instead .

what's everyone doing tonight?

Belgianchocolates · 11/04/2009 20:34

divedaisy I like your first name choice: Suzannah Grace. I'd go for it if it wasn't for my sil being called susan. Suzannah is my grandma's name, we're very close and I think it'd be lovely if I could call this lo after her. Come to think of it, I could use Suzannah as a middle name, couldn't I.
I've been terrible the last week. I'm more down than up. Not v. nice for the family really.

Thanks for the egg rolling explanation. Sounds like fun. We do the egg decorating bit, but I don't think we've got a hill steep enought to make them roll .

Those swaddle wraps look lovely, though I've got something a bit different from Belgium coming. It's more meant for outdoors in a carry cot or something. I chose it because the Skate carry cot doesn't take a mattress and so isn't quite as soft. The lodger wrapper is very popular at home and it can be used for older babies too.

Grr, stupid cat is sitting here staring through the window, begging to be let in, even though I left the door open for her especially. Why can't she just go and have a look through her cat flap

Right. Now dh is gone there's plenty of space on the sofa. I think I'll watch telly for a bit now with my bum up in the air.

Febes · 11/04/2009 20:34

Dive Daisy- I love the names! I would go with Suzanna or Gabriella both beautiful and lovely with Rose as a middle name.

I'm thinking Caitlin Nora for a girl and Rueben Cornelieus for a boy other favourites are Louisa or William. Its so hard!!! I like family names (Nora and Cornelieus are family names and Louisa and William are as well)I also like fairly uncommon names and we have no Caitlins or Ruebens at my school so thats a good start. I'll wait and see what LO looks like.

My bump has changed completely today so I think the baby is still able to move alot although it seems to have been in the same position for a while now. I might have to spend a little less time reclining back on the sofa and more time with mu bum in the air.

Belgianchocolates · 11/04/2009 20:50

Everyone, have a look on our f/b page. Spangle has posted some baby pics!

sausagenmash · 11/04/2009 20:52

Hello everyone! Happy Easter

Am sitting here on the sofa watching 'Britain's Got Talent' which I LOVE (but only for the funny stuff) and dp HATES. Haha. Went to Godson's 18th birthday party yesterday and caught up with a load of cousins and aunties and uncles I haven't seen for years - all of them were very exciting about my enormous bump! My dress was pretty low cut and dp was v chuffed with the humungous cleavage!!

Still, was exhausted at Mum and Dad's last night and was SO uncomfy on the sofa, LO was extremely kicky, I had terrible heartburn and trapped wind, and I couldn't get up when I wanted to move, so I ended up in tears, and Mum and dp had to prop me up on pillows. Ugh. Roll on 6 and a bit weeks when LO is OUT!

Hehe - still another 2 days off! And then I've only got FOUR days left at work! Omg, I'm so excited!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 11/04/2009 20:57

llare Oh my gosh, how cute those Merino wraps and beanies are. I think I shall casually mention them to my mum.

Febes No! No! No! DH and I had tentatively agreed on Rueben for a boy. Hurumph.

Dive I like your name choices

I think DH is finally getting excited. He is taking an interest in baby stuff and helped me sort out the clothes I bought for bubba and kept looking soppy at the teeniness of everything. He was particularly taken with the very soft baby sleeping bag (DD2 had these).

LO has been super active today, to the point of being painful. I have gasped out loud several times! Seems to have shifted position slightly, downwards I think, as not so many direct kicks to the ribs.

Just vegging in front of the golf with DH. Read 2 books, need something new to read.

Febes · 11/04/2009 21:06

Grumpy -I see that I am due 12 days before you so there, first to pop gets the name!!!!

I have a merino kids Go-go bag for DD and my mum is getting me a new one for LO. It's lovely and goes from new born till 2. I swaddled her till about 4 months though then she went in the go go bag. It keeps them warm in winter and cool in summer.

llareggub · 11/04/2009 21:11

sausagenmash so I'm not the only one watching! Honestly, I am such a bag of hormones I was crying when that family were singing. I am such a wuss at the moment.

febes and grumpy I've got my debit card out and I'm going to buy that merino kids swaddle. Why not?

We bought DS some marbles today and he is in HEAVEN. Probably not the safest toy for a 2 year old, particularly with a baby on the way, but he is totally in love with them. We now have marbles everywhere...

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 11/04/2009 21:12

I swaddled both of mine, but DD1 objected as she wished to suck her thumb from an early age . It kept DD2 quiet, then we moved her into a bag too.

Merino wool bag

llareggub · 11/04/2009 21:12

sausage OMG! Did you just see that?!!!

Febes · 11/04/2009 21:16

That woman on Britains got talent has boobs like me!!!

llareggub · 11/04/2009 21:16

Me too febes!

sausagenmash · 11/04/2009 21:17

llare I did!! How bloody brilliant was she??!! Hahaha!! Saturday nights are now SORTED!!! (Also pmsl earlier at 'stavros flaherty!'

Momino · 11/04/2009 21:24

oh, not watching but would love to. watching little miss sunshine which will only be interrupted soon when Match of the Day starts (is it 10pm?). sigh. i wish i liked football.

Febes · 11/04/2009 21:26

Oh Harvey is soooo cute. Well done Spangle. I want mine!!!

divedaisy · 11/04/2009 21:27

llareggub - watch where you step - with your bump in the way I wouldn't want to hear you'd gone on your bum by skidding on a marble...

llareggub · 11/04/2009 21:33

divedaisy DH said almost the same thing to me earlier on in the park when I was rather enthusiastically see-sawing with DS!

divedaisy · 11/04/2009 21:33

I've forgotten my F/B password and it's taking ages to come through my email!! Im not familiar with how FB works - how do I see Spangles photos?? I should be an invited friend... any advice??

Not watching BGT - I'm on BBC1 with Casulty - that's my Saturday nights sorted.

divedaisy · 11/04/2009 21:38

llareggub - how on earth did you get your leg over the see-saw?????
