Starting new thread ladies, in honour of Spangle.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I'm just taking Spanglet's weight, but you never know. My baby could be bigger than that. I don't think I've reached your 7lb 4oz though, looby. I can imagine you're glad you're not going to 40weeks . Hopefully now you're on insulin and a different diet lo's growth will slow down a bit.

DH want to try and get the baby to come on the 23rd. I'll be 38 weeks then and it will be his last day home before he's going to work for a week. In other words, he wants us to have sex and lots of it on the day before he goes Sex got my other 2 out you see Oh and my mum told me it got me and my brother out too, but that really was TMI from my mum, because I like to think my parents never did that sort of thing and me and my brother were really brought by the stork

sausagenmash · 03/04/2009 11:05

Looby soz to hear about your crap registrar. I often wonder why Dr's don't have people skills lessons - I have worked with so many rubbish ones, it makes your mind boggle. Still, at least you have a nice focus now!

Am so - dp came in at midnight last night, stinking of curry, booze and fags. I was still awake when he came in. He got into bed and started snoring RIGHT away, which I could still hear with my earplugs in. I gave up trying to sleep at 3am and then went in the spare room, and then couldn't get comfy in the single bed. I don't want to sound like a nag to him, and he called around 10ish last night to see if it was ok to go out to eat, and of course I'm not going to say no.... but maybe I should start putting my foot down. I'm soooooooooooo tired.

There's loads of screaming toddlers in the waiting room today. Hmf.

Oooh, look, Easter emoticons!

emmabemmasmom · 03/04/2009 11:06

belgian haha
Funny that! DH and I were just about to get it on when my waters broke with DD! He likes to say that he is just that good HA. Glad we never got to it though lol

Belgianchocolates · 03/04/2009 11:06

fi is right looby. You know that you don't want to be like your mum, so wont.

I'm just going for a cheap pack of nursing bras for just after the birth and once my milk has come in and I seem to have settled on a certain size I'll get myself a nice Hotmilk one

I like the new festive smileys btw

Right, better go to the osteo now.

Belgianchocolates · 03/04/2009 11:07

Oh sausage, you've had the same thing happening. The easter smileys didn't work!

This is probably going to sound silly, maybe Belgian can help me, my own MW, who als seems to lack people skills like Loobys I spoke to her about my concerns and she seemed to find it hilarious, which has made me really un-easy, she found it amusing that Madi was 'big' and that my DP was huge (10lb10oz) and FIL was even huger (14lb+) and said that Im destined to have big babies and not alot can be done, I said I was concerned that there may b something underlying thats causing baby to appear big, and about going full term and over, and what would happen if I really did get big, what if baby got stuck, my worries about furher damage being done to mty already broken foo-foo, and she just said not to worry, if your big we'll send you for a scan at 38 weeks and induce you there and then, that was that? She didnt help me at all, if anything its made me 100x more worried, Is being 5lb odd at 33 weeks normal? Would my body keep allowing baby to get bigger and bigger or does it get to a point where your body prevents you getting too big to the extent that you couldn't push baby out? I had a really un-settled nights sleep, again, been having nightmares

chocbunnies every sympathy for crap MW

chocolatebunnies · 03/04/2009 11:27

dandy I was scanned at 31+3 (last monday) and baby was 4lb11oz too, so we're about the same, give or take a few days & oz's. Its good to read that your midwife isn't concerned about it, all the sonographer said to me was that it was average for me, but really emphasised the 'me' bit, i'll put the weights into my chart and see what it comes up at, are you inbetween the top and middle line? what date are you due?

chocolatebunnies · 03/04/2009 11:31

There a bloody nightmare aren't they looby! Why can't they all be like Belgian?!!!!

Thank you dandy that has helped, phew, how big was your first? We seem to be about the same, right where have my notes gone . . . .

Tummum · 03/04/2009 12:04

Morning all, logging on from work for the last time as I officially start ML on Monday . Having taken off the last couple of weeks on sick it was a real shock having to come into the office again and made me realise how lovely ML is. Not sure how I am going to manage without the afternoon nap I have been doing for the last week or so - not sure if anyone will notice if I curl up under my desk for an hour this afternoon

Looby sorry to hear about your crap experience at hospital. Just to let you know that I was induced with DD1 and it was a good experience for me. I got going after a couple of applications of gel and gave birth in 10 hours which is not bad for 1st DC. It was also lovely to know exactly when I was going to meet my LO instead of lots of hanging around. I also agree that if you can try to get some time off work now before the 18th so you can pamper yourself and get your head around being a mum

llaregub I'm going to make some welsh cakes this weekend now. This thread is making me eat lots of yummy things !!

Chocolate how was your trip to the library?

Sausage your DH sounds like mine! The snoring is driving me to distraction. I'm pretty sure I will relegate him to the spare room from now on because I need all of the sleep I can get !

I've calmed down after HB row with DH. All of his queries are perfectly understandable - I'm just struggling with getting answers and sorting it out without rowing about it.

I also shrunk the only decent pair of maternity jeans I own this morning V. annoying. Not sure I can be bothered to buy another pair for the sake of a couple of weeks.

See this is where Im bamboozled by mother nature, I am alot lot smaller this time than I was with Madi and Im expecting a boy, they told me throughout first pregnancy that I would have an average size baby, Madi was 8lb10oz and 6 days late and to be honest looking at her pics, she does look tiny, but then when you look at my DP's baby pics, even his first pics, he was huge, he came out looking about 3 months old and the spitting image of phil mitchell! lol! he wont forgive me for that! thankfully he doesn't look like that now!
So going on the general rule, I should be expecting a 10lber!

tumtum library is this afternoon! am looking forward to it, weather is beautiful!

Hello, we're back from pre-school. I was worrying unnecessarily about the appointment with DS's keyworker, he's fine, phew! However, the welsh cakes didn't go down well and I was most embarrassed impressed by the standard of cakes. Mine looked a bit sad and consequently they were the only things left over! Ah well, I'll know better next time and buy some from M&S, or make more of an effort!

pulapula · 03/04/2009 12:43

Chocbunnies- try not to worry too much. Boys do tend to be heavier, but don't worry about your husband's size at birth- i have read that baby's birth size is not really influenced by size of the father and that generally, baby is designed with mum in mind, and that (unless in a bad position with hands up or if big due to GD) the baby will fit.

My DD was 8.12 (1 week late) and DS was 8.4 (1 week early). Going on the "general rule" of gaining half a pound per week, I guess DS might have been around 9.4 if born at a similar time to DD, but this is not massively different, so please don't worry that your DS will be a 10lber (although a friend of mine had a 10lber with no tears etc). Also your Madi was late too, so you never know, this LO may come on time (or early). I was disappointed not to get an approx. weight for my LO, but the consultant forgot to measure the head circumference, but I was also measuring ahead like you were, so guess our LOs are similar in size

pulapula · 03/04/2009 12:48

Oh and Chocbunnies I didn't realise that you hadn't previously said the sex of your LO, but i just assumed from the scans it was a little man (he looks male to me). But I will not say anything on FB. Cute photos by the way- I can really imagine what he is going to look like when he's born - you must be very pleased and excited after your fears of not liking what you will see
