Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I've uploaded two new pics from last nights scan.

Im waiting for the midwife to ring me back, I am really concerned about the size and growth of baby, as I haven't seen a midwife since 28 weeks, and Im now 33 weeks and I'll be 35 weeks when I next see her due to the stupid appointment schedule at Drs, think I need to see her asap, what if theres an underlying reason for growth? I've not seen anyone so no-one knows, by the time I get to see her next it may be too late.

Off to the library this morning, should be good!

Hope everyone is feeling ok today

Chin up to those who aren't so good today.

flippineck · 03/04/2009 08:14

llaregub - welsh cakes, definitely. Dead easy as you say, and always a big hit.

LoobyLou36 · 03/04/2009 08:54

I am not fixated about birth plan and already knew I couldn't have a water birth. Have already decided to go with the flow

LoobyLou36 · 03/04/2009 08:54

good luck with the welsh caked llare

send some my way

LoobyLou36 · 03/04/2009 08:55

great pics chocbunnies

FiKelly · 03/04/2009 09:28

dandy love the baking is like sex.. made me
llareggub I'd do the welsh cakes too.. if you can summon up the energy

ds slept in this morning till 8.30am.. but only because he woke up in the night. the best bit about last night was dh got up for a change without me asking to put him back to bed and i think ds was so surprised he went without a fight!

daizydoo · 03/04/2009 09:33

I loved my grandma's welsh cakes - mmmm....

Fi, my husband washed up without being asked last night, do you think something's in the air!??

llareggub · 03/04/2009 09:50

All done!

Just trying one now to see if they are edible enough to take to pre-school. DS isn't looking too impressed, but he is a dab hand at rolling out dough. It must be all that playdough.

Just had a call from the pre-school, trying to arrange a parent consultation! I thought it would be years before I'd have to go to one of those. We're having 10 minutes at the egg hunt today. I'm worrying now...she said she "had no concerns, he is a lovely chap....BUT we could do with sitting down for 10 minutes." The but really bothers me...

emmabemmasmom · 03/04/2009 10:01

Good morning ladies!

Whew DD slept until 9:10! I use her as my alarm so I got a nice lie in So she will get treats today for letting mommy sleep lol Does anyone elses LO's sleep so late? She is in bed by 7pm the latest and can wake anytime between 7:30am and 9am without waking in the night...seems odd to me!

Looby I read your posts and I am so sorry you had to deal with someone so harsh with no bedside manner. I have a midwife that I have come into contact with twice, and after the last time I told DH that if she is anywhere near me when I am in labour he is to tell someone we don't want her! She is the head MW too but I will not allow this woman near me. Hope you are feeling a little better today.

Thank you all for your reasurance in the 'small measurment' side of things. I am just worried. I know she could just be small but what if something is wrong and she is not growing right? DD was 6lbs on the dot and I measured perfectly every week. Oh well...maybe I will start calling and making them give me a scan now...

Finally got my hall and living room painted last night...yeah! Inlisted the help of FIL and I was able to stand and direct lol So now the house is ready to receive a baby...I am not lol but the house is!

FiKelly · 03/04/2009 10:01

chocolatebunnies great pics.. why are you worried about size.. sorry if i missed the reason. great photos

looby going with the flow is the wayto go.

wishing i had some of the pancakes left i made for tea last night. they were sort of healthy as we had raspberries blueberries and blackberries along with the ice cream and maple syrup!

Dandy
Yeah you are right with that. I know I have measured all weird before too with different people. I had DH measure me last night too and even we got different ones. Depends on how she is lying too I suppose. I guess that is why I am worrying. If DD was 6lbs, will this one be smaller? Am I to blame for this one being smaller? My family does make smaller babies...I am really trying not to worry...but you know how it is. At this point in my pg I worry about everything! lol Thank you for the reasuring words though...I will keep chanting them as my mantra

LoobyLou36 · 03/04/2009 10:21

off shopping in lunch hour to get some more cheapo primark button front nightshirts - I think 5 will be enough

emmabemmasmom · 03/04/2009 10:21

Oh and if she is small and healthy then that is fine! I am more worried that she is not growing right because something is wrong...with her...or with me...that is my main worry is why is she not growing? Ah well...not going to worry about it today!

Gert2a · 03/04/2009 10:23

Morning all,

Domestic goddess that I am I have a fruit loaf and chocolate banana bread in the oven. yippee.

Belgian well done on presentation, it's always such a relief when interviews are over, and like everyone says, now you can relax!!!!

Pula - Eastenders, oh my goodness, I was properly sobbing, would have sobbed even more if DH hadn't have been here laughing at me. Haven't sobbed so much at TV since Billy left Neighbours (about 11 years ago!)

Fikelly my baby is currently breech and has been for weeks, I think it sometimes moves a little to make it more transverse, but soon gets back into it's obviously preferred breech position. My BIG kicks are either low in my pelvis (sometimes feel like my bladder is being kneaded) and around my right hip bone. Then I get tickles all over!

Looby sorry to hear about your hospital visit, but like others have said, it seems a good idea to take this birth lark as it comes with an open mind, with the key outcome being a healthy you and a healthy baby. But do enjoy the aspects of trying to start yourself off earlier!! Glad to hear that you're 'going with the flow'.

Right, time to get dressed and maybe a little walk into town, or maybe a visit to the swimming pool?

FiKelly · 03/04/2009 10:24

I'm repeating myself! not totally with it yet.. woken up groggy today.

llareggub the but can't be for anything horrendous.. after all 10mins isn't long and she did say what a lovely chap.

llareggub · 03/04/2009 10:30

emmab when I was 28 weeks pregnant with DS the MW scared the crap out of me by telling me that I was measuring small and needed a growth scan. DS was born at 37 weeks, measured above the 100th centile at just under 9 pounds. He's now hovering around the 25th centile (or at least was last time he was checked yonks ago) so I don't think it means much at all. The fundal height thing is not accurate at all. Actually, thinking about it, after the scan I had DS wasn't thought to be particularly big either...

LoobyLou36 · 03/04/2009 10:35

do you think its time to get measured for nursing bra? or too early?

As I'm now being induced 2 weeks tomorrow I want to get organised, the LO has dropped down so isn't under my ribs anymore.

LoobyLou36 · 03/04/2009 10:37

in approx 15 days I could be a mum
(hope I do a better job than my mum did )

Ironically if LO born on 19th that's my mums birthday

LoobyLou36 · 03/04/2009 10:40

Have lined up my niece to spend some time with me during labour in hospital to give DH a break (she's lovely - next best thing to having a sister - and she'll calm me down )

MIL thinks this is a bit odd and was a bit - she asked what DH thought about this? Was DH who actually suggested it as he knows I'll need some extra support.

Belgianchocolates · 03/04/2009 10:41

looby I've just read about your hospital appointment. Some people really don't know how to talk to people don't they. Do try to get yourself signed off work. You need these next 2 weeks to prepare and let the reality sink in, you really do. You need to be relaxed by the time you get to induction time. I have to agree with the others, it's a bit too early to kickstart labour at the moment, but you can start with the raspberry leaf tea at 36 weeks, because they're meant to tone your uterus and it would be helpful to have a toned uterus, wouldn't it? The week you're 37 weeks you can try some of the traditional kickstart tricks the others mentioned, because baby wouldn't really be early at that stage and again, you never know it might make your induction easier. Do discuss your wishes with the mws looking after you in hospital. You might be induced and that usually means monitoring, BUT that does NOT mean you have to be stuck on the bed. I always let my ladies walk around as far as the leads stretch.

chockbunnies I wouldn't worry too much about your baby's size. There's a range of normal, not all babies are born at exactly 7 1/2 pounds! 2nd babies are generally a bit heavier than 1st ones and boys are on average heavier than girls. So those things might be playing a role in the weight of your baby. Still can't beleive you're hiding a bigger than your weeks baby in that tiny neat bump though! Gorgeous pics of baby. I'm still amazed at how real life they look.

emmab Dandy has said it all so well.

DH is going out to buy a new car today, because his own car is playing up big time and he fears it will die any time. We're going for a part exchange via network Q. We'll definitely go for the Zafira. So exciting that by the end of the day we'll have a car that can take 3 car seats next to eachother!

I'm going to another osteo+acupuncture session in a bit. I've had the best week in ages this week, so I think it's all working. Today is my worst day of the week, maybe it's finally worn off?

Belgianchocolates · 03/04/2009 10:43

Hey looby you could be no2 to have your baby.

I wonder how spangle and spanglet are getting on. I'm the nearly the same amount of weeks as she was when she gave birth. I can't imagine that there's a 5+ pound baby in there at the moment!

LoobyLou36 · 03/04/2009 10:47

5lb - apparently according to the scan mine is now approx 7lb 4 - glad I'm not going to 40 weeks

FiKelly · 03/04/2009 10:47

looby you could go now to get measured but a bit closer to the 18th might be more accurate cup wise. if you do get one now.. keep the tags on it just in case your dh needs to swap it. unfortunately it's almost impossible to get it 100% right before your milk comes in. you're going to be a great mum I'm sure..
