Lol, dandy of course I was mentally blaming you when I got there, and thinking that if it wasn't for you I would have concocted some sort of amazingly Easter themed delight...not! Even DS ignored our welsh cakes and went for the chocolate rice krispie cakes with mini eggs, traitor!

We're to buy some sort of baby seat this afternoon. You know, a bouncy type affair for him to sit in downstairs. DS had a cheap one from Mothercare with a wire frame which he managed to topple over (who knows how!) so we don't want to risk that one again. Don't know what we want, or where to get it, but we have a John Lewis and a Mamas and Papas to explore. I'm quite excited really!

chocolatebunnies · 03/04/2009 13:51

pula its interesting that you think he looks like a boy, the sonographer said that he looked like a girl, much to DPs disappointment, he doesn't want a 'pretty boy'! But yes very very pleased and excited, makes it seem so much more real when you see them on the 4d dvd, Madi loves to watch her 'best friend snoopy' as she calls him!

dandy maybe we should take bets for weights! you have every sympathy with the large head, Madi had a large head, it was also perfectly circular, like a marble, was not the easiest to push out and took two goes to get whole head out, first push just got the top to the bridge of nose out, cue a very comical moment when I begged the midwife just to grab her ears and pull her out (no-one had warned me and i hadn't read that it could happen like that and also that when the contraction stopped, so did the pushing, waiting for that next contraction felt like a life time with half a head poking out of me!!!) Oooo re-living that, cant wait for that again, NOT!

llare v of you having a john lewis and a mamas & papas, i don have either of those near me!

I have put up another couple of pics of naked bump, taken today, just after lunch (yes I am still in my pj's!) take a peek and make me feel better that Im not turning into a heffalump!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 03/04/2009 13:57

chocbun

at your neat bump, heffalump you most definitely are not!

and at Easter emoticons.....

Choc- Your bump is way smaller than mine and I Xmas Envy that you have no stretch marks I'm covered in them.

DH and DD played together this morning throwing a ball between them. Well DH throwing the ball and DD screaking with delight and running around. She is just over 16months now and really starting to 'play' properly and its so cute. She had a ball. DH has also made her a sandpit in the garden which she loves. I'm glad he's here today as I can relax a bit more but he will be working loads over the next few weeks so I'll be on my own. I'm planning on doing lots of visiting to friends and parks.

35 weeks today. Really noticing this week that I'm finding it harder to sleep and move in bed. I'm better when I'm up and about.

Febes · 03/04/2009 14:00

opps

Febes · 03/04/2009 14:01

They are sooo cute . We didn't get these last year.

Tummum · 03/04/2009 14:14

Chocolate LOL at the Madi's head stopping after a contraction. Same thing happened with my DD2 and I swear she had a ridge around the bridge of her nose where she stopped ! The next ctx didn't arrive for another 5-ish minutes.... so I am hoping that doesn't happen again

I am still at work, hanging around with nothing to do waiting for my 3pm meeting after which I can escape. Yay ! Meanwhile I am sure LO is trying to escape via my rib cage. It's getting sooo sore when he moves about now. Can't believe I have at least another 4 weeks left - not sure my poor old back can take it.

pulapula · 03/04/2009 14:18

Well Spangles early delivery has led to a shopping trip this lunchhour to get maternity pads, arnica and some big pants (BHS - 5 pairs for £5 which was pretty cheap I guess). Still need breast pads, and some shower footwear - I remember the day after my cs last time they moved me to a private room with ensuite which was really nice. However, they made me have a shower and it was a shower over the bath and i can still recall trying to gingerly climb into the bath, hoping desperately that i didn't fall or hurt anything. So some sensible footwear would be useful.

rosielady · 03/04/2009 14:25

llare - i too was thinking of a bouncy rocker as the one we had for DS was a bit like a coat hanger with a bit fabric stretched over it!

i have been eyeing up the Chicco ones as they look nice and sturdy and padded for the LO. but thinking of an ebay purchase as they are not cheap - or scouring moneysaving expert or similar for a discount voucher or something.

Belgianchocolates · 03/04/2009 15:24

Oh I just wrote a post with my amazing fantastic news and a message for chocbunnies and I've lost it. I'm not writing it all again, so I'll keep it short.

  1. WOOHOO [dancing happy bunny emoticon] I've got the job. They've just phoned me. I'm soooooo excited. I didn't expect them to call so quickly. DH wants to celebrate by going for a drink now, but the photographer is nearly here, so we can't. He still doesn't get it why I want those pics done, btw.

chocbunnies I can only second what Dandy has been telling you. I think it will be really important this time around to follow your mws instructions when pushing out los head. I didn't x2 and had 2degree tears x2. I'm determined not to do that again.

I'm getting one of [[http://www.dreambaby.be/dreambaby/index.jsp these] from Belgium. It's like a bean bag for babies and absolutely gorgeous. My mum and dad are getting it for me as a present.

rosielady · 03/04/2009 15:28

Belgian - CONGRATULATIONS! WELL DONE AND GO GET YOURSELF A CELEBRATORY DRINK! - after your photoshoot sesh.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 03/04/2009 15:30

Belgian fabulous news. Well done you, absolutely deserved

Loving these festive emoticons

Gert2a · 03/04/2009 15:41

Belgian - yippee! Woo hoo! Well done you! Be very proud of yourself and enjoy a celebratory drink!

Belgianchocolates · 03/04/2009 15:41

Thanks for all the congrats. I'm so incredibly chuffed that they have noticed what an absolutely brilliant midwife and personality I am

Oh and my link to my gorgeous baby seat didn't work. Here's another one. Hope it works. Try again

Gert2a · 03/04/2009 15:43

Where are my bunny ears? Oh I see now

Momino · 03/04/2009 15:43

belgian, that is the best news... and didn't you just say that this was the worst day of the week (because you were having such a good week earlier)... was it you? well, this tops it off, eh? well done you! none of us had any doubts anyway .

about baby size: dh was 8lb 10 and I was 8lb 12 when born yet dd1 was 5lb 10 and dd2 was an ave 7lb 7 so neither followed our weight. no idea what determines.

I'm bigger this time but still think it's just because it's 3rd pregn and don't think baby will be that much bigger than dd2. MW measured me today and seems baby has plateaued so am measuring 36cm at 36 wks (feels bigger). also has turned from breech positions so we're happy!

am trying to get the energy to get the girls to the park. am thinking about it. and thinking.

Belgianchocolates · 03/04/2009 15:51

I also think it's made up for having bumped the car into the wall between our drive and the neighbour's this morning . I've made a HUGE scratch on the bumper. Amazingly dh wasn't too angy, normally he gets angry and makes it look like I go around bumping cars on purpose

pulapula · 03/04/2009 15:57

belgian - well done on getting the job. I'm not surprised, as you seem like the most knowledgable, sensible, and reassuring MW i know. My compliments could go further, but don't want you to get too big-headed

emmabemmasmom · 03/04/2009 16:19

Just trying to catch up and wanted to say well done to belgian!!!! Whoohooo!!! Well done!!

frazzledoldbag · 03/04/2009 17:09

belgian oh clever you. Am SO SO SO SO PLEASED for you and what a lovely surprise to be told so quickly. I think this calls for a celebratory drink. Congratulations!
(knew you'd get the job) [smug emoticon]

Afternoon ladies! And well done Belgian What great news (not that we need any evidence that you're a great midwife!)

I can't believe this thread is on page 10 already. Am just off to catch up on all today's chatter...

llareggub · 03/04/2009 17:37

Well done Belgian! Great news, well done!

chocolatebunnies · 03/04/2009 17:48

Awwwwww belgian well done you! whoop!

Hope your being taken somewhere nice to celebrate!

Me & Madi spent and hour, yep a whole hour, at the library! She loved it, they had puzzles and drawing stuff there so that kept her entertained, I got to sit and have some me time, was really nice! And the best bit its less than 5min walk away from my house, so I can go all the time! Who'd have thought it, last week I was too scared to go anywhere, this week I have mastered it! Feel so happy, for me and Madi! The librarian even gave Madi her own Library Card! So grown up!

Of to find some icecream, will be back on later
