too worn out to boot up laptop so on phone for now..

just caught up and whoopee belgian [dances around the room emoticon with easter bunny ears] is it too early to start the celebratory virtual party?! so happy for you.. can't stop

well done chocolatebunnies on your getting out and about and glad you're both enjoying it so much.

daizydoo · 03/04/2009 18:53

Congrat Belgian - that's great news!! When I saw all the congratulations I thought you'd had your little one for a minute!!

I've had a completely unproductive day - waiting for a parcel that didn't arrive. Ds was making a mess faster than I could tidy, so I gave up and the house looks like a tip now!

My pesky hormones - I've just been laughing hysterically at a news article that probably wasn't that funny!! Also did you see Jamie Oliver and his wife have named their new daughter Petal Blossom Rainbow!!

ladyhelenatealltheeggs · 03/04/2009 18:59

Good grief. I'm a bit quiet for a few days and look what happens!

A new thread with about 300 posts on already

spangle has a baby!! Congratulations BTW

belgian gets a new job.

choc goes to the library.

Well done to you both.

looby gets a date for induction. I think Looby, once you get your head round it, you'll be relieved. You know when it will happen so can prepare. I was induced with DS and it was great in the end.

And that just the things I can think of having just had to catch up with a million posts since Monday!

I am now on ML. Well as of next Monday really. Today and yesterday have just been normal days as I don't work Thurs and Fri.
Have a list of jobs to do as of monday:
Hosptial bag
Sort out mine and DH's clothes and do a big charity shop/ebay sort out
Put said clothes and DS's old pushchair on ebay
Sort out baby clothes
Clean my car
SLEEP
Get a pregnancy massage (perhaps the most important entry on this list!)

Sorry not to respond to everything happening in the recent days here. There really is too much to mention!

Blottedcopybook · 03/04/2009 19:33

Fi I'm getting kicked and punched all over my tummy - down the left hand side, down the right hand side and I'm positive I'm being kicked in the fajita from the inside. When I collapsed at the Doctors she had a wee feel and said she thought baby was head down and back to back, all the other checks have come back with her breech back to back so I honestly have no idea what the hell is going on!

Belgian You're lucky that's all your Mum told you! My Mum told me that if we had all been named the way the Beckham's named Brooklyn (by where they conceived) then I'd have been called Caravan and my sister would have been called Lay-by-on-the-M6

Also - CONGRATS ON THE JOB!! I'm so proud of you, well done

My day has been utterly woeful. Hubby works for a govt dept doing major restructuring so his job was re-advertised. The applications were paper-based only with no interviews, he's dyslexic and of course didn't get the job. I'm absolutely livid as this means he's back in a temp post despite having an outstanding report and being given a bonus for exemplary work this year. I call discrimination but he's not happy about going to his union.

Then, my electricity went off at the back of 11 this morning, Scottish Power told me it was because there was a fire in my substation and I shat a brick because our substation is IN OUR BACK GARDEN. Luckily (!!) it appears they were talking bollocks but it took until 6.30pm to get my power back on. I am massively unimpressed.

THEN I called NHS24 because DDs impetigo hasn't cleared up despite her almost finishing her abx, the nurse on the phone said it sounded like she has hand, foot & mouth which is when the penny dropped and I remembered DS2 got a letter home on Monday saying HF&M was doing the rounds. Checked him too and he has sores on his feet and in his mouth already, pharmacist confirmed the diagnosis.

Just to cap all of this off, hubby's new dept won't allow him to take any time off over the next couple of weeks because they're snowed under. This is despite them knowing he has two sick toddlers and a heavily pregnant wife. I am a bawhair away from calling his HR dept and going postal.

Happy bloody days. I told hubby that we're booking into a spa next weekend because I need it to recover from all this.

FiKelly · 03/04/2009 19:54

blotted sorry you've had such a rubbish day today.. they say things come in 3's so hoping that's your 'lot'. big hugs to you xoxox

off for a relaxing bath and some lady garden topiary which is long overdue.. got a new gadget/razor by wilkinson called the bikini. will let you know if any good!

Febes · 03/04/2009 20:11

Blotted- Sorry about the rotten day hope tomorrow will be better.
Belgian- Congrats glad they realised how great you are. Did you tell them you are supporting 40 odd woman through their pregnancies on line??

My friend who was going to give/sell me her P & T buggy is now taking it with her to singapore so I'm back to the drawing board and looking on Ebay for one. We are so poor at the moment so I might have to wait until next month to buy one .

DH sorted the pantry out for me this morning and has finished building it now just needs door handles.

emmabemmasmom · 03/04/2009 20:14

Hopefully not tmi!! Fi I just got that bikini thing too lol Just a word of warning...the blade cuts very short! So, if you just want a 'trim' then try to use a mirror...otherwise you will end up nearly bald! Not that that happened to me!! lol It is great though if you can't see with your bump...easy to maintain lol

LoobyLou36 · 03/04/2009 20:17

well done belgian
and well done chocbunnies

saw my MW today got her to measure fundal, she measures 35cm told her about my treatment at the hospital by the bitch registrar (who measured 32cm) aparently she's heard a few complaints about her. Got to listen to the baby again before he/she got fed up of being prodded and started thrashing around and kicking seven bells out of me
She's coming round on Sunday afternoon to talk me & dh about what will happen at induction (DH doesn't believe that it could go on for days!)

blotted sorry to hear about your crap day

Blottedcopybook · 03/04/2009 20:28

Febes I got my P&T from kiddicare and if I recall correctly it worked out nearly £200 cheaper than Mothercare! I just need to buy the baby cocoon and weathershield for mine now.

Momino · 03/04/2009 20:35

Fi and EBsmom, might get the same gadget. I really want a trim and my manual 'scissors method' is so primitive and difficult.

my DH is lovely. with all the talk going on about packing bags, i asked him to pick up things and he got the maternity pads, breastpads, newborn nappies (we just awwwed over them), even cheap dark pants (though he got hipster-looking ones, they're a size bigger so should be ok), cereal bars, juice boxes, etc. it's just such a bother to go to the supermarket now, i wasn't looking forward to it.

now, just have to get my clothes, toiletries together. and must remember the arnica.

Momino · 03/04/2009 20:37

blotted, i'm sorry too that you had a bad day. with those things going wrong, there must be good things round the corner. big hug over to you.

chocolatebunnies · 03/04/2009 20:41

I got that trimmer/razor thing too and unfortunatly what emmab was warning about happened to me! Its rather odd feeling! Sorry if TMI! lol! Its is good and appears to do the job tho Fi ! Just remember o use a mirror!lol!

Blotted sorry your having a shit day, hope it gets better for you!

Febes How annoying about the P&T, I second what Blotted said about using Kiddicare, its great and so much cheaper than Mothercare etc.

Thanks for all the messages re me going to library!

emmabemmasmom · 03/04/2009 20:42

Yes, the manual scissors method can become very dangerous when you cannot see what your aiming for anymore! This thing is great I will admit as you don't need to see and you don't need to worry about hurting your lady bits. DH was very thrilled that I did not need to ask him for help this time around lol

Wish I could get DH to get maternity pads ect...probably come back with thongs instead of briefs, panty liners instead of jumbo pads, and size 5 nappies. Ah well...just sent him off for an apple pie from McDonalds (weird sudden first time craving just struck!) so we shall see if he gets that right! lol They do try...

emmabemmasmom · 03/04/2009 20:44

chocob hehehehe...yeah I didn't realize either until I passed the point of no return. It does feel weird, but you get used to it and I find it oh so easy to keep tidy lol Although it is rather loud in the shower

LoobyLou36 · 03/04/2009 20:44

your DH is good momino mine wouldn't have a clue

might get some arnica tablets just in case induction turns to cs - can you just get them from Holland & Barrett? do you start taking them beforehand?

FiKelly · 03/04/2009 20:45

emma just out of the bath. luckily spotted that the strimmer trimmer had settings lol. i could tell even a number 3 was going to be extremely short! managed to do a tidying job and not go bald glad i didn't try and use it when ds was around.. normally do am bath.. can you imagine the questions from a 2.5yr old?!!

emmabemmasmom · 03/04/2009 20:47

It has settings? lol

emmabemmasmom · 03/04/2009 20:49

Damn it does

FiKelly · 03/04/2009 20:51

yes! no 1, no 2 & no 3 lol

pulapula · 03/04/2009 20:52

febes i have a friend who may have a P&T for sale. Think she has 2 actually! She's got someone who has until Sunday to collect but sounds like they are stalling, so i will let you know if i hear anything, if you are interested.
