Hi everyone!

So much to read!

Can't remember much except for the general gist!
Last time I don't think my boobs really changed at all-only a bit when my milk came in and they have stayed that size through 2.9yrs breastfeeding. They feel much fuller now and very tender (didn't get that last time) so maybe they will increase a bit this time? I was quite glad last time that they didn't-really doesn't sound very nice!

I think I put on around 2-2.5 stone last time-which I didn't think was too bad-dd was almost 9lbs. I weighed more to start with last time. Even though I have been far more ill this time I think I have put on quite a bit already maybe about 10lbs I wasn't too worried as last time I lost nearly all the weight in the first week and then a further stone and a half after that-which stayed off. This time I feel like i'm putting on more plus I'm a bridesmaid 6-8wks after dc2 is born so i'm quite worried

I still feel guilty about wanting to try and find out the sex at our scan today! I'm almost hoping that baby won't let them
I'm getting very excited about it! 3.45 today!

Had a major panic last night as DP thought my passport might have run out so went to find it and couldn't find it anywhere!!!! Found it a couple of hours later!!! Phew! Less than a week til holiday! Bought dd a trunki on sat-she LOVES it!

Flame it is really good to see you again

Feeling very sick still-great! Had a major headache all weekend-still there a bit today. Really hurts when I move

Congrats on the scans and genders! I did the 2nd predictor and it said girl for dd. It says girl for this baby if I put september but if I put october (which I think is more likely) it says boy Will have to see later!

Sorry for all the stuff I've forgotten!

Have a great day-good luck to others with scans today!

Good luck with all the scans today!

19 weeks today! Off to see the midwife at 10.15. Have a good day all!

Morning everyone!!

Glad im not the only one with the leaking problems lol..thank god its only ever been in the house.

Ive been feeling sick today, with mild cramps & sore back. But the baby has been kicking the insides out of me & the bladder this weekend, so no wonder! Ive got MW appointment tomorrow so will ask then too. Ive also been getting bad headaches.

The last pregnancy i had, my boobs started at a D cup....I went up to an E cup & never went back down again! Really afraid at what im going to be this time round....going to breastfeed to see if that will make them disappear again!

Good luck with your scan today Sammysam, and dont feel bad about wanting to know the sex, its only normal really. I couldnt go for the next 20 weeks not knowing.

I cant remember anything else i wanted to say! Oh dear lol....

smallone · 11/05/2009 09:23

Morning all,

ronniemummy I'm just hacked off that I'm treated like some sort of heffer that needs the fireservice to remove the side of my house to get to the labour ward! I'm half a stone heavier than with dd and no-one said anything about my weight then. Now its all, "we might need you to come in early to have an epidural put in just in case we can't get it in easily" - even though they managed fine for my em cs last time while I was having the mother of all contractions! grr.

My friends baby is doing really well, Mum has come home from the hosp and baby is expected to be in for a couple of months until she can feed on her own. But otherwise it sounds promising.

As for leaking, I'm ok so far, got piles tho JOY! Good idea about checking for infection, otherwise its squeeze, squeeze, squeeze about 500 times a day!

princessmel · 11/05/2009 10:04

Hi all,

fidelma I often get headaches, especially in the evening or at night. I have been taking paracetamol becauses if I don't, they don't go by themselves and just get worse.

I seem to be very tetchy at the moment and getting angry over little things. I was having major mood swings on saturday night. I was in the bath and one minute I was going on about how awful I looked , to dh. My huge, veiny boobs, fat (imo)arms and legs, yuk face etc. Then the next second I was laughing at how funny his hands looked! . I was nearly crying with laughter! Def hormones!!!
I snapped at the kids this morning too before school

Still no movements from baby.

littlepea72 · 11/05/2009 10:51

Smallone please dont get upset about what people say or think, they arent worth the efford! Im 3 stone heavier this pregnancy than my first one and some people ( In-laws ) like to let me know. As long as we feel good in ourselves, then to hell with them. Honestly, your either to big or to small, there is no winning.

Ive just had 2 breakfasts again! Man I'm always hungry now....dreaming about pea & ham soup! lol....

HappyTangerine · 11/05/2009 11:51

Good luck with scans today everyone

Sammysam - I think we'r going to find out the sex as well, I really don't think I can go another 20 weeks not knowing. Heck, I even read the end of a book after the first chapter-can't see me waiting for this suprise!

Smallone - Ignore the comments, you're an individual, not a statistic. My cousin was overwight and told all sorts of scare stories by midwives and consultant-she went on to have a great labour. Her v slim sister was not so lucky and had a horrendous time, baby was in SCBU for a while. You just need to keep as healthy as possible and a positive mental attitude.

HumphreysCorner · 11/05/2009 13:39

smallone-have to agree. Ignore them. I'm 5ft and was 4 stone overweight last pregnancy but everything went smoothly. They might have had to prod deeper to find the heartbeat but so what!

I have a headache today and yesterday and am eating like a horse so piling on the pounds.

Don't know what my boobs measure as I'm normally 32D but am bursting out happy in my 34DD. Whoops! Have some bigger bras from last time so may have to dig them out. Incidently, as I didn't BF DD1 my boobs weren't much bigger when having DD2 (I was just bigger) but after BF DD2 my boobs do seem lots bigger this time. Never leaked milk first or last time so do you think it is likely I might this time and if so when?

Still waiting for my linea nigra line on my tummy-had one with both pregnancies.

Can't wait to hear news of scans and what the sex is.

Big wave to all!

Thanks

Any scan news!?.................

OP posts:
Treats · 11/05/2009 16:58

Hi everyone.

Re: boobs. Mine grew a lot in the first few weeks, but have remained constant. They were SOOOO sore to begin with but are less so now. Do find that I get the occasional pain every now and then. I bought some special pregnancy bras and that helps a bit (although they're REALLY ugly) but I hate that I can't wear underwires any more.

RE: weight gain. Totally sympathise with everyone who's worrying about this. I've been weighing myself about once a week since about 10 weeks and think I'm staying within the limits so far. Trouble is, I don't think it's an exact science - some people will put on loads in one go and then nothing more, and others will put it on steadily as they go. It's no good telling me to eat a balanced diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables and not to worry (I do all of those things) - I get so hungry at lunchtimes I could eat my desk........

Think it's rubbish that people are being treated badly because of their weight . I can see that - statistically - there might be increased risks, but every patient should be treated as an individual, so if your pregnancy is proceeding normally, with no high blood pressure or whatever, then why should people continue to make an issue about it? Plenty of skinny people get pre-eclampsia. Having a general about pregnancy bossiness........

I've felt the baby move!! I didn't realise that's what I was feeling at first, but now I realise what it is. S/he's particularly active in the afternoons - it had a good squirm about just after lunch earlier. Feeling much better now. Hope everyone else is OK.

rubyslippers · 11/05/2009 18:06

i also checked in for scan news

treats - how lovely to feel the baby move

hackneybird · 11/05/2009 20:35

I can join the 'big veiny boobs' club too. Don't mind having big norks but so not into the veins. Yuk. Not so sore anymore but still very sensitive nipples. There was a chilly wind today....ouch.

Have no idea about weight, I don't own scales, so I'll be intrigued to see how much I have or haven't gained when I go to my 20 week appt, which isn't till 28th May 'impatient emoticon'. I have been trying to eat well, although all these lovely cupcakes keep leaping onto my plate in the afternoons! Where do they come from I wonder.

The chinese chart says I am having a boy, so we will just have to wait and see. I think I'd like a boy.

sam I let my passport run out and totally forgot about it, only realised about three days before I was due to go on a mate's hen to Paris, when her very efficient bridesmaid sent a schedule round saying 'don't forget your passport!'. I had to leg it to the office in Victoria and pay through the nose for new one via the express service.

fidelma I get headaches too, so I take one paracetamol which always seems to help. Apart from that not too many nasty sideffects thankfully. Although I can't stay up much past 10.30pm.

treats isn't it lovely feeling the baby move. I keep getting all sorts of flicking and tickling sensations. I had a lot this moring during a meeting and it was hard to concentrate.

idreamofbeanie · 11/05/2009 20:50

Hi all,

had my scan this afternoon and it was fantastic . The baby was swallowing fluid, sucking it's thumb and bouncing around all over the place. Everything looked good and is the right size which is a relief. Then she peeked between beans legs and she is 90% sure we are having

A GIRL!!! (as predicted by both of the gender site things).

I am a bit ashamed to admit I'm not as excited about that as I should be . I not disappointed at all but I am a tomboy and also have much more experience looking after little boys. I'm def better at the loud boisterous games - I play rugby, don't own a dress and refused to play with dolls as a child. I already love this little girl I just feel a bit less confident about being a mum to a wee girl than to a little boy. Mad I know ! Has anyone else ever felt like this?

Sorry for me me me post . Bit of a one track mind this evening.

sammysam · 11/05/2009 20:51

Hi everyone!

Princessmel-I have tried to answer the parvo questions-am very tired and to be honest don't know that much-ICBINB would be able to answer much better......

Almost had a heart attack at the scan......she started the scan and after a pause said 'have you felt any movements?' then around 30seconds of me not breathing (and it turns out her as well) when she looked around-no movement from baby and she couldn't see a heartbeat-I was about to pass out!!! Anyway then baby moved! All is ok-everything fine but GOOD GOD I was so scared!!!!
Have 8 lovely photos! Baby spent alot of time playing with its feet-very funny to watch! Saw a different consultant and will be having a scan every 4wks from now to keep an eye for any parvovirus complications-although all looks ok at the moment.

I'm really having trouble getting that episode out of my head now though. I really wish we had just gone in 1min later so I hadn't seen that. It is all I can think about and just wish I could get it out of my head

Anyway we were given an 85% chance of having a ..............

Girl sammy sam!?????

idreamofbeanie · 11/05/2009 21:10

Come on Sammysam, don't keep us in suspense. Sorry you had such a stressful scan.

LittleMissBliss · 11/05/2009 21:14

IDOFB Congratulations on your girl! I'll swap if i'm having a boy. To be honest i've got my heart set on a little girl, i've got two dresses already fgs. So if next Tuesday i find out i'm having a boy then i'll most likely feel like you are now. I love ds to bits and boys are fab, so much fun. But i have alaways seen myself having a little girl also. I think we will stop at two, as i want to do my teacher training when this LO is one and ds is at nursery.

Anyway you will get your head arround it and there is no need for your girl to be a all girly. I've got a friend who never dresses her girl in dresses or frills because its not her style. Her dd is gorgeous and it's refreshing to see a girl not head to toe in pink. Most Children want to be their parents anyway so i'm sure she'll enjoy what you enjoy too!

CalypsoFlame · 11/05/2009 21:35

Evening ladies.

So Sam....?!?!?!
Sorry you had a bit of a scare at the scan, glad its fine now though.

idreamofbeanie I COMPLETELY know how you feel. I was secretly wishing quite hard for a boy and had scan results its a girl. I'm sure that I'll love her to bits, but being a total computer / sci-fi nerd who likes nothing more than a good cross-country run through bogs, I'm slightly concerned if I have a really girly-girl... I mean I don't even own any make-up
I'm sure that there will be a million and one things that we'll enjoy together, but its been a bit tricky when people have asked and I've looked less than completely delighted when I say its a girl. Bad mummy already

She's kicking quite hard though (I can even see it, heh, bumping out of lower tummy!) so I think she'll be a good ultra trail runner

Evenin' all!
Haven't posted for ages, but managed to keep up with everyone's news each day.
Very jealous of all the 20 week scans already happening. Am 18 weeks today, and my scan isn't for another 3 1/2 weeks - not sure I can contain my excitement that long, but guess I'll just have to!
Think I've felt the odd flutter these past couple of days - lovely feeling, and can't believe it's anything other than the baby.

Boobs have gone up from a 34E to a 36F, and although I don't mind the viens ('cause I know they'll go again), I'm not keen on the obvious stretching going on. Will they ever 'bounce' (sorry....) back?
Getting a headache that lasts 1 to 2 days every fortnight, but not too worried. Guess it's all the extra blood rushing around, much like all the bunged up noses that many of you seem to have. Aparently nose bleeds are quite common too at this stage, and am glad I don't have those.
That's about it from me really. Generally feeling very well, and really looking forward to the third trimester, shopping for all the new baby stuff (when we know what we're having). Even quite looking forward to the birth (someone remind me of that after the event!!).

My sister had her second today - little girl, Olivia (ahh). Contractions started at 11pm last night, she went to the hospital at 7.30am this morning and little Olivia popped out with 4 pushes at 9am this morning - how great is that?!

Ooh, long post, sorry.....
Big kiss to everyone and glad we're all going through the same stuff at roughly the same time, really helps doesn't it?!

Flamesparrow · 11/05/2009 21:44

yay for good scans

Got my date through today - 29th May. DH is pleased because it is a day when he gets to skive of work for the scan (Thursday afternoons he gets off so he wasn't wanting that!)

sammysam · 11/05/2009 21:46

.............another girl ! Tis what everyone thought! We are not telling a soul though! DD was already convinced/wishing for a girl so she 'knows'!
Very happy to be having another girl, a boy would've been nice and different but it will be lovely to have 'my girls'!!!

I'm not a girly girl either-you just make encourage them to be like you!!!!

Congratulations Idream! Lots of girls on this thread now-next week must be turn for the boys!!

Very tired now-off to bed! Sorry if I've missed anything-will check in the morning!

Night all!
