Swaliswan · 01/04/2009 19:41

BB, put your feet up and conserve your energy. Get a very early night so that you have the energy to push your LO out.

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 01/04/2009 19:42

Tee hee at the thread title suggestion... that's brilliant!

BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 19:42

Yeah that's what the MW said - eat and drink lots and enjoy my potential last night of normality - now really have to go and do bathroom for 20 minutes then will be be back!!!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 19:42

this is nesting gone mad!!!

OP posts:
AuldAlliance · 01/04/2009 19:45

BB, you are certifiable, you really are!
And will you please, please, please post a photo, if only for 24hrs, of you and DH demolishing your bathroom 48hrs after your due date? This I have to see!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 19:46

bb and dh

SpringySponge · 01/04/2009 19:46

I'm shaking my head in despair, BB.

PuzzleRocks · 01/04/2009 19:50

BB, seriously, if you go into labour now you will be knackered before you have even begun. Please stop.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 19:53

BB - put the hammer down now sweetheart and back away from the bathroom!!

soon2befamilyof4 · 01/04/2009 20:03

LOL at BB. At least it will pass the time and keep your mind off it I guess! I would definatly get an early night though. My one big regret last time was not sleeping and resting more in early labour as DD didn't arrive for 49 hours after waters broke and contractions. Stupidly, I didn't sleep and was so exhusted by the end that I didn't even really know what was going on. If you haven't already had dinner, try and have something full of energy - maybe some pasta or something? And if you are still there in the morning, have a good brekie! The other thing I regret is not easting as I was not allowed to eat at the hospital after they put the drips in (which they didn't tell me till after they had done it!!!) so was hungry too!

SpringySponge · 01/04/2009 20:04

She's had her 20 minutes now...

BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 20:08

DH has banished me from the bathroom so you are all ok to stop fretting, he is just cleaning up a bit (although there is dust all over the house!) Auld will try and put the pic up - but not sure how to do it from my phone!!

It could still all be nothing girls - if the contractions don't start I will have to go in the morning and check that they actually have gone and it's not just leakage!!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 20:10

BB - yay for your dh's banishment!!

OP posts:
SpringySponge · 01/04/2009 20:11

Do you feel like it's nothing, BB?

Swaliswan · 01/04/2009 20:15

I know that I'm being completely unreasonable to be so pissed off, but I am FED UP of people telling me that it would be much better for Bean to stay in for a few more days even if I have to put up with pain all day and night. I know that my MIL, the midwife and the student midwife are all right, but what I would really like is some sympathy not a bog-standard 'well, it would be better if you hung on until 37 weeks' response. I know that!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 20:16

Swaliswan ((hugs))

SpringySponge · 01/04/2009 20:16

Swaliswan, I understand & YANBU. It'll happen when it happens & hopefully you won't be too uncomfortable until then xx

Juwesm · 01/04/2009 20:17

Have been to seaside for fish and chips. Thought a bit of fresh sea air might help. Am sure a quick dip in the sea would definitely have got things going but not brave enough!

Instead I'm going to saw up some 2x4 and hammer up some drywall! Tried and tested method! Go BB!

April Mums inducing labour

The excitement on here is palpable!

Hello! Home from hospital, just managed to get DS1 to sleep in our bed (point blank refused to sleep in his.....), DS2 asleep in carry cot, I've cried buckets already and asked DP if we've made a huge mistake and asked him to take me back to hospital where it's all safe and there's people to look after us - all pretty normal I suspect!

Birth story here if anyone wants to know, it was a long one in the end.

State of mind not helped by paediatrician suspecting a heart murmur at DS2's new baby check, which meant I spent most of yesterday in Special Care getting DS2 an ECG, BP check and O2 sats in all four limbs, and a heart scan, all a bit worrying after our last experience. Have been given complete all clear by cardiologist though, phew!

Going to go and eat lasagna now and then put on load of washing - DS2 has only been home a few hours and has already peed all over his changing mat and has no clean babygros left....

Go BabyBolat

BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 20:33

Springy, I don't feel any different - I will be very very surprised if they were not my waters as they didn't look, feel or smell like wee in any way (in line with Nutty, they did smell very sweet!) and sorry if this is TMI but let's just say I am amazed at just how wet my underwear was all over iykwim but then had a couple of those and just very small dampage since. not sure quite how much is supposed to come out!

I have had some (but not loads) of show since then so am crossing all my fingers that it is not nothing but haven't had any contractions and doesn't feel like they are about to come so I am trying not to get my hopes up - just in case

Also I have to go back to the horrible mw tomorrow to check my waters if the contractions haven't started (think I will probably phone hospital anyway just in case I can get away with NOT seeing them!) which I am not looking forward too, nor do I have a lot of faith in them!

Juw, that is just what I looked like when I was doing the bathroom - the likeness is uncanny!

BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 20:39

ooh WFH - long long labour but all worth it and so glad DS2 is OK!

We're going to walk to the chip shop (tis only 5 minutes so don't fret!!) and get some lovely vinegary chips for dinner! will try and upload the pics when I am home!!
