BB, you mad woman, you have probably ruptured your waters by trying to demolish your bathroom single-handedly. You do realise everyone on this thread is now likely to regard this as a tried and tested means of induction and start ripping their own bathroom tiles down?? What have you begun???

BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 18:13

To be fair there is a lot of discharge coming too so that might account for the stickiness.

Nutty it is very very clear and smells slightly sweet - not like wee at all really but I don't know - haven't had all that much to drink today so would imagine it would be more colourful if it was wee iykwim. it's happened about three times in the past 3 hours so am padded up and going to give it until 8 and see what happens.

PS My waters were pretty similar to wee, actually. It was the way they just kept carrying on leaking out over the course of the morning that determined it wasn't wee.

BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 18:15

It can't be my waters - I have to put up walls tomorrow!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 18:15

BB's sounds like your waters chick, 3 hours is a bit of a long time you may want to just give the MW's a call to see what they think rather than leaving it the extra 2 hours xx

BoffinMum · 01/04/2009 18:16

Well what did you expect if you started on a major DIY project, you dozy bint??? Of course you would go into labour!!!!

BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 18:17

Ok then I will wait 45 minutes until 7 - if nothing else comes do you think it is nothing to worry about?

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 01/04/2009 18:18

Yay for DIY!!! Think I'll drag DH off ot B&Q tonight... I'm sure I can find SOMETHING for us to renovate in this flat...

Hooray BB - soooo exciting!

mathsmummy27 · 01/04/2009 18:19

depends how much cervix-fiddling you;ve been doing..;)

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 01/04/2009 18:19

PS we want to hear EVERY detail of what happens... so keep us posted! I'll be online all night if I have to... [supportive doula-buddy emoticon]

If it is your waters, you have 24-48 hours to go before they start interfering with you for fear of infection. You can string this out a bit by being reluctant to go on a drip - if baby is happy there isn't a huge rush.

But there is a good chance by breakfast you will have gone into labour spontaneously, I imagine, so take a bit of time to make sure your bag is ready and you have eaten and drunk enough - don't get dehydrated.

I would ring the mw and just tell them you are keeping an eye on it all and will be in contact tomorrow.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 18:21

BB - i would still get it checked for my own peace of mind, but tis up to you, again see what the MW's say.

I am so painting the downstairs loo tomorrow. Wild horses won't stop me now.

BoffinMum · 01/04/2009 18:22

If that doesn't work I will get Nutty to help me build an extension! Fancy a bit of hod carrying, Nutty?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 18:24

Boffin - hand me the hod i'm there!!!

BoffinMum · 01/04/2009 18:28

Nutty, I am after a home spa and gym with yoga area for SPD recovery. Let's get this thing rolling, and then we can get Kevin McLeod in to do a Grand Designs programme on it all.

I do think BB is so funny with this tiling and water thing, and it will be something to tell the DGC one day. Like my business lunch scenario.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 18:31

Boff that is a fantastic idea!! kevin mc leod is a lovely chap too!!

gingersarah · 01/04/2009 18:31

Gosh BB this is so exciting, your baby could be here tonight!
I think rebuilding a bathroom is uber-nesting.

Thanks to the people who answered about nappies.
Thanks to Boffin for those links, great to have someone else to talk to.

BB - Good luck! And courage!

BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 18:33

Well calm down it might be nothing - DH is destroying the bathroom as we speak - going to give mw a call at 7 - bet I have just wet myself now!!!

bronze · 01/04/2009 18:35

Does that mean your dhs waters are going to go as well?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 18:36

BB!! BB!! BB!! BB!!!!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 18:38
