haha - to be fair I was doing really well, I took down all the fixtures and fittings and then ripped 2 walls off no problem - it's just these darn plasterboard walls - don't know what they did but as soon as you pull a tile off all the plaster comes with it too!!!

It will be worth it when it is done!!!

BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 16:48

bronze LOL I think he is just used to me starting things and then having to come in and fix everything

mathsmummy27 · 01/04/2009 16:49

that was fun! I had a sneaky look at the lambs but I fell in love with a little honey-coloured calf. I reaaaaaaaaalllly wanted to take it home. DD and DH currently asleep in each others' arms on sofa - cutest thing EVER.

soon2befamilyof4 · 01/04/2009 16:56

I can't decide if I am more likely to go into labor when frantically cleaning and scrubbing, going for walks, going to the park etc OR making sure I relax and stop worrying. Both of those things are meant to be good but they are complete opposites!

bronze · 01/04/2009 17:00

I would just wait for the baby to come when ready

Carameli · 01/04/2009 17:02

soon2be: I completely understand what you mean about the crowning. Again don't want to scare first timers here. DD1 took ages, ds1 was such a fast labour, so I only had my tens machine and gas&air but at least it was over fast
MAking sure I ahve my rescue remedie with me and lot of calming homeopathic tabs to try and see if I can keep calm at that stage this time.
But I certainly don't think you are alone in feeling overwhelmed sometimes.
I just keep thinking of the lovely baby that fingers crossed we will all have afterwards and that keeps me going and a bit of retail therapy with baby things

surprisenumber3 · 01/04/2009 17:04

ooh MM, while you're there, seeing as your due date is the closest it will ever get just wanted to say text me at anytime, I put phone on silent at night so will check on every one of my many toilet get-ups!

Glad you had a fun day!

BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 17:05

soon2be - relax and stop worrying!!!

Just realised in my decorating frenzy I haven't eaten since my mini eggs this morning!!! (have made up for this now though!!!)

Might try and have a quick 40 minute nap before DH comes home and I have to go back in to the bathroom!!!

bronze · 01/04/2009 17:07

you know I havent had a mini egg yt this year ( or a creme egg)

BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 17:08

Re labour -

On the one hand I am ridiculously excited about labour - I really want it to happen but on the other hand there are elements of it that I know I am not prepared for and will get there and just be like OH MY GOD the pain!!!

mathsmummy27 · 01/04/2009 17:08

thanks Surprise ditto

Off to brew a lovely (!) RLT. dicovered it tastes fine when consumed with copius amounts of custard creams. mmmmmmmm cuppa anyone?

mathsmummy27 · 01/04/2009 17:09

mathsmummy27 · 01/04/2009 17:45

Swaliswan · 01/04/2009 17:53

BB, we had to sort our bathroom out by putting up some new plasterboard after taking off the old tiles. I don't think that this is unusual.

MM, we have some jammy dodgers in the cupboard

soon2befamilyof4 · 01/04/2009 17:55

I do keep worrying about when baby will come as I just don't have suitable childcare the week I am due! I know that if DD ends up with barmy MIL and family I won' be able to forget about her through my labour as they are seriously awful. If she comes in the holidays, I have people i can trust 100% with her and I will be able to completly relax (although will still miss her). Leaving your child with somebody you can't trust is horrible and I really don't want to do it .

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 01/04/2009 17:56

Ah pants... no show by midwife today = no HB kit... I've called and left a message on the team answering machine, hopefully they've just forgotten and not changed their minds!! At least my bath is fixed though... [positive thinking emoticon]

BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 17:59

Oh soon2be when do you want to go in to labour?

Swali, I have been looking online and it does seem a pretty usual, although I spent 4 hours trying to chip away at tiles earlier so not to destroy the plasterboard when I could have actually just ripped the bloody thing off the wall - and that would have been way more fun!! DH is on his way home so hoping that between the two of us we can get it all off before 8!

Think I scared LO with all the banging tho - has been very quiet!! to be fair our bathroom is pretty tiny and it's only one main wall and the wall by the door so wont take too long!

oooh jammy dodgers...

BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 18:04

Girls I appear to be leaking!! Ok now I have been rubbish at my pelvic floors so this could just be an embarrassing moment but for the past 3 hours or so am having rather a lot of fluid (kind of sticky) come out - not a gush or anything, just in dribs and drabs - should I just stick a pad on and monitor it?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 18:08

BB - put a pad on, and sorry if this is a bit gross but what does it smell like if its your waters it wont smell like wee!! it might smell quite sweet

OP posts:
Schulte · 01/04/2009 18:09

Juwesm, many many thanks for advice! Off for a quick swim now (read: wallow in the pool) then I'll catch up properly!

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 01/04/2009 18:09

Ooooooooh BB this could be your waters! Yes - stick a pad on and see how much there is... yippee - so exciting!! My phoe is on, oh buddy-o-mine, so you can keep us updated...

XXXXX

Schulte · 01/04/2009 18:10

Waters aren't sticky though are they?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 18:12

might be a bit of mucus??
