There are stockists listed at the very bottom

SpringySponge · 01/04/2009 11:17

Remind me not to piss BB off if she deals with these things with a hammer...

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 11:17

BB - you're scaring me!!! remind me never to get you in a bad mood and let you near a hammer!!

Juwesm · 01/04/2009 11:18

Tile removal is very satisfying, but I have found you do tend to end up covered in small cuts and abrasions!

Juwesm · 01/04/2009 11:19

Oh, now you've done it. Am going to get sucked into the JML website, and want to buy loads if incredibly useful crap I never realised I couldn't live without!

SpringySponge · 01/04/2009 11:23

JML is fantastic. It shouldn't be possible for anything to be as pointless & yet as necessary as the JML products.

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 01/04/2009 11:36

Runs in

NOT an april fools joke, seeing as what BB has been up to today - my bathroom has started to leak into the downstairs flat... all while we're still getting nasty dirty leaks from upstairs... this has got to be the worst constructed building in the UK... Plumber on his way to rip out tiles...

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 01/04/2009 11:56

hello still in hospital but coming home today so will post birth story later on. elle tens is very good, we had one ajd it really helped. stop eating sponges you mad women. babybolat am sending lots of birth vibes, sorry your mws are so rubbish but you will have your baby soon i promise! my big chunky boy is fab and feeding well, can't wait to be home. if starlight is still lurking, i'll post full details later on but birth was really positive experience hooray! xxx

tristaleejac · 01/04/2009 11:57

hey WFH great to hear from you, give your boy a kiss from us!
What have you called him?
Look forward to birth story later xxx

Juwesm · 01/04/2009 12:01

Congrats again WFH! You must be so excited to be getting home! Can't wait for birth story.

Kitty, don't worry. Plumber will get it all sorted. Sorry you are having to deal with horrible stressy stuff.

Where is Bleu today? Is she sneakily having her baby?

tristaleejac · 01/04/2009 12:05

soon2be - I'm going to use terry nappies, although will use disposables in hosp.
BB - great stuff, take it out on the bathroom. I LOVE doing stuff like that, wish I was there with a hammer, helping. Sorry to hear about MW being awful. What a bitch! Must admit, when I was in Ireland the antenatal appointments were a case of;
pile all women into waiting area, notes in hand. Call them in one at time to walk round a production line, hand in pee to 1st MW, get BP checked by 2nd MW, talk to 3rd MW about any concerns (although be quick, they're very busy), then go back outside and get in queue for bloods if necessary, or feck off home if not. It was so rushed, so impersonal, not friendly. Totally different MW and student at birth and on wards though so the rest of it was amazing.
Total mind blank, can't remember what I was going to say to people, sorry.
Well I'm off for a shower, hope someone's had a baby by the time I come back.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 12:06

is it wrong that i dont possess any JML products????

Kitty - oh no!!! nightmare ((hugs))

WFH - good to hear from you , fab news that you're coming home today and that you are both doing so well xx look forward to hearing more later

MW just been and stole some blood. bp & wee fine. appointment next week and consultant the week after. pretty boring really

tristaleejac · 01/04/2009 12:11

sake! no hot water, have to wait now

BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 12:12

Aaaarrrgh OK so it seems I have put a gigantic hole in the bathroom wall!! It was all going well, got all the tiles off 2 walls then started tackling the big wall (not realising it is a STUD wall) and now there is a gurt great big whole in it!! and getting the tiles off is not where near as easy or fun!!

Am now googling how to fix it before DH comes home!!! (He told me not to do it!!!)

PuzzleRocks · 01/04/2009 12:16

Congratulations WFH. Great to hear it was a positive experience and you will be home today. Can't wait for all the details. Big hug to your new DS.

PuzzleRocks · 01/04/2009 12:18

Uh oh BB. Can you say your belly dented it?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 12:20

BB - oops! sit down and have a cuppa xx

OP posts:
SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 12:21

Puzzle ROFL BB please can you say that!! please!!

OP posts:
tristaleejac · 01/04/2009 12:21

BB - Oh no! Nightmare! Cover it with a poster or something!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 12:22

Or that a contraction came and it was so bad you punched a hole in the wall and the tile came off?

OP posts:
BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 12:25

I think it comes from me using a screwdriver so when I bang in to it it puts big dents in!!! I think I may need to pop to homebase and get a chisel or paint scraper or something so its more flat!!!

Ok I will say that - I am not sure he will believe me!!!

I think it is definitely time for tea and biscuits!!

gingersarah · 01/04/2009 12:25

BB, when you take a break from impressive Incredible Hulk-like Smashing, what kind of washable nappies did you get?

Maternity leave is hard - I am feeling quite tired here sitting on the internet buying things / being about to buy things if I could be bothered to go and get my purse.

I am not having any labour-like symptoms. My sister told me about 10 days ago to put something on the mattress in case waters break at night, and I said "I will do that now" because I am scared of her, but I have only just done so and I don't believe I am within miles of needing to. This is good as I can get on with ordering things without coughing up for urgent delivery rates.

I am nervous about going back to the GP about the boob issue because they were a bit scary last time and I cried a bit afterwards and I have now had my norks thoroughly palpated by many GPs and I have no way of judging if I am being mental or not. So I called the mw and she is going to have a look next week. I feel stupid like I am shouting "Please someone look at my tits!" but the problem is: certain symptoms are associated with "please get this checked out" advice, and although technically I have - in fact very thoroughly - I'm afraid if I am honest I don't think GPs "count" as having had something checked out, given the number of times I have had to work quite hard to get them to take my instincts seriously in the past about things where I have turned out to be right (but fortunately in the past not very important in the grand scheme of things). I think they work very statistically, reasonably enough working on the assumption that common things are common, but this means it can take them a while to arrive at a diagnosis of things that are less common as they are not attuned to detail and nuance in the way that specialists are in their field. I will make no friends and gain no support by talking like this in a GP's surgery tho so I am not sure how to proceed and I know they think I am stupid already so I have to be strategic and grown up about this to avoid going irrevocably on the "NUTTERS" list.

Anyway for now I am trying to pretend it is all fine and after next week and the mw I will work out a plan, depending.

MEANWHILE the stupid landlord is making me want to move house with a 2-week old baby. This is insanity. It might not even be 2 weeks old - or I might even be in labour on moving day! - so this is stupid, but god, he is really annoying. I am trying to negotiate a new contract by email, his average time of response to the simplest question is 10 days, he is not contactable on the phone and he is charging over the odds. I really feel like fucking off and leaving him to try and get what he thinks this place is worth off a new tenant, while I could be in a cheaper place where, for instance, the kitchen surfaces are horizontal, there are more bedrooms, and maybe a bathroom that doesn't look like it was fitted in the 80s by the Young Ones.

Sorry such a long ME ME ME post - I am attention seeking because no one wants to look at my boobs.

PuzzleRocks · 01/04/2009 12:28

Typical Brit builder, botches things, and always sitting down on the job! Is your arse hanging out your tatty jeans while you read the news in briefs in the Sun?
